RV parks near the New Orleans area provide access to French Quarter attractions while offering full hookup capabilities. French Quarter RV Resort features 52 concrete pads with 30/50-amp electric, water, and sewer connections in sites measuring 30' wide by 60' long. New Orleans RV Resort & Marina accommodates larger vehicles with 155 sites and both 30-amp and 50-amp service options, operating year-round. Pelican RV Park and Jude Travel Park of New Orleans offer additional full hookup options with 30/50-amp service. Sites at most parks are level and paved, though Fanz Mobile Home & RV Park provides more economical options on gravel pads. "Spaces are a bit tight, only RV spots have a fire pit. The location can't be beat and the employees are great. Very safe area and convenient shopping places nearby."
While premium locations close to the French Quarter command higher rates ($69-120 per night), more affordable options exist further from tourist areas. Most RV parks in the region maintain gated security features with many offering poolside amenities, cable TV connections, and WiFi access. According to one visitor, "This park is essentially a gravel lot with full RV hookups. That said, you're paying roughly $30 a night to be about ten minutes by car from the French Quarter." Seasonal considerations affect both pricing and availability, with many parks charging premium rates during Mardi Gras, Jazz Festival, and other major New Orleans events. Highway noise impacts several properties, particularly those adjacent to Interstate 10, though most facilities compensate with robust amenities including shower facilities, laundry rooms, and dump stations.
"This compact, walled RV oasis occupies roughly a city block just off I-10, with 52 flat, paved full-hookup sites and essentially zero traditional camping atmosphere: no woods, no shade and no tents."
"Easily spotted from atop Highway 10, which you can access from Exit 235A as you enter the city, you’ll be able to depart 3-lane highway chaos and shoulder-to-shoulder dwellings and enter a fortified encased"
from $105 - $250 / night
"Great location, clean sites and facilities, well spaced between sites. $30 a night. Quite part of base. *There are gators in the water filled ditch along the sites."
"This is a small RV Park, with only about 40 sites. It is just 5 miles from down town New Orleans, and the French Quarter. They are on the bus line, and also have a shuttle to the Quarter."
"The operators offer a shuttle several times a day for a small fee per person, to the French Quarter. There’s a nice pool, and hot tub on the premises as well as showers and restroom facilities."
from $45 - $90 / night
from $25 - $100 / night
"The park is very nice with numerous amenities. Kids really enjoyed the lazy river, miniature golf, and beach volleyball. Not much shade in the campsites and they are pretty close together."
"Beautifully kept resort with nice full hook up camspots, fences in dog park, pools for adults and kids, camp store, bar, grill, lake and hot tub."
from $45 - $130 / night
"Quiet and peaceful. Not too many mosquitoes flying around, but if you plan on going to new orleans that uber will cost you about sixty bucks one way ;)."
"Nice quiet and people who are in the office are a amazing. Highly recommended"
"Located off the canal in the Gentilly neighborhood of New Orleans, this area is legendary for its street-racing scene."
from $40 - $60 / night
"Mostly long term residents in residential mobile homes, motor homes, fifth wheels, and travel trailers. Some are in need of repairs and power washing. Not an RV resort. That’s the bad. Now the good."
"Facilities are nice full hook ups at every site. I could only give them 4 of 5 stars because of challenges using my electric mobility wheelchair. They have handicap ♿ parking in the clubhouse."
"Peaceful. Quiet. Friendly staff. Lovely pool. Great walking, hiking, and fishing."
"site #26 is very spacious (probably one of the largest pull-through areas - and perfectly quiet. Lots of green, grassy area and no campers on top of your space!"
"It was amazing friendly staff the owner is hands on and is nice. Nice pool River and pond to fish in. We loved it all. Showers was very nice"

We stayed at site CU037 and had a wonderful time! Our spot felt private and secluded, with plenty of wildlife all around us. We saw squirrels, raccoons, deer, lots of birds, and one surprisingly noisy armadillo! At night, we could hear owls and coyotes, which made the experience even more memorable.
The bathrooms and showers were clean, with plenty of hot water—a welcome comfort while camping!
It was a beautiful place to slow down and enjoy nature. Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer. We’d happily come back!
It does have high traffic, but quiet in campground. Big campground, with mostly FHU sites. Back in sites and pull thru also. Bath house also has laundry. The park and beach areas are awesome. Second year camping here, cause pretty darn sweet
The price is with 96$ to high. To much mosquitos.
Was invited to come down and check out the rv resort met some great people
Calling French Quarter RV Resort a 'campground' almost misses the point. This compact, walled RV oasis occupies roughly a city block just off I-10, with 52 flat, paved full-hookup sites and essentially zero traditional camping atmosphere: no woods, no shade and no tents. But that's also its genius: you're staying in your own RV within walking distance of the French Quarter. The grounds remain remarkably clean and secure for such an intensely urban setting, and the courtyard pool and hot tub provide a surprisingly relaxing place to recover alongside a stiff Mai Tai after a long day pounding the pavement in New Orleans. Recent 2026 reviews continue to praise the cleanliness, staff and location, while confirming that shade remains nonexistent.
While my earlier review goes into considerably more detail, I thought I’d revisit this campground with a quick topline of HIGHLIGHTS and LOWLIGHTS along with a fresh batch of photos.
HIGHLIGHTS: (1) Location is the killer attraction here - you can park the RV and walk into the French Quarter rather than attempting to navigate and park a big rig in downtown New Orleans; (2) the walled, gated property and overnight security create a reassuring little 'cocoon' from the surrounding city; (3) sites are generously sized for an urban RV resort (roughly 30' x 60') flat, paved and equipped with full 20 / 30 / 50-amp hookups; (4) the central courtyard, pool and hot tub are genuinely useful amenities rather than decorative resort fluff after a day exploring the city; and (5) clean private showers, laundry and other well-maintained facilities make this exceptionally easy urban camping.
LOWLIGHTS: (1) You're paying handsomely for this location, with current rates running roughly $105–$250 / night and event pricing capable of pushing things substantially higher; (2) elevated I-10 sits immediately alongside the property, so highway noise comes with the address, although the passing by traffic noise becoming less intrusive at night; (3) there is virtually no shade, greenery or traditional campground ambience - so bring your own shelter or shad; and (4) this is RV-only territory, so tent campers need not apply.
Insider’s Tip: I’d still choose one of the less-expensive standard sites rather than automatically paying for a premium site. I-10 is sufficiently close that you're unlikely to achieve true silence anywhere, and the basic sites deliver the same real prize: a secure place to leave the rig while you go enjoy New Orleans. If you're walking into the Quarter, daylight is preferable; use a rideshare coming back late at night.
A surprisingly convenient no-frills overnight option in New Orleans with plenty of room to pull over, settle in and get some sleep without straying far from the city. It’s basic street-side parking, so don’t expect amenities or campground-level peace and quiet, but for a free night in an otherwise expensive city, it gets the job done nicely. Not somewhere I’d linger, but absolutely somewhere I’d use again for a quick Big Easy overnight.
Happy Overnighting!
New Orleans area RV parks offer varying price points from budget-friendly locations at $30 per night to premium waterfront options reaching $89 nightly. Many campgrounds provide shuttle services to the French Quarter, typically a 10-15 minute drive from most locations. Sites around Metairie frequently feature concrete pads with full hookups, though travelers should note that hurricane season can affect park operations and availability.
Visit the French Quarter: Stay at French Quarter RV Resort where you can access New Orleans' historic district on foot. "Despite being just a stone's throw from the historic famed district that you've come here to revel in and perhaps catch some beads here in NoLa, French Quarter RV Resort is a small slice of respite in an otherwise busy, traffic-jammed section of the Crescent City."
Enjoy water recreation: Sun Outdoors New Orleans North Shore offers multiple swimming pools, a lazy river, and water activities. "Our kids loved the lazy river. We stayed in site 202 and it was ideal as we have a class A and flat tow a Jeep and didn't want to unhook for the one night."
Take a shuttle to tourist spots: Several RV parks near Metairie offer transportation services to popular areas. "Jude Travel Park offers a shuttle several times a day for a small fee per person, to the French Quarter. There's a nice pool, and hot tub on the premises as well as showers and restroom facilities."
Security features: Many parks prioritize safety with controlled access. New Orleans RV Resort & Marina has "secured for those that are worried, I know I was. The place is fenced and gated for added security."
Reasonable commute times: Campers appreciate the proximity to attractions. "So glad I decided to stay here. This is a great park tucked away from everything yet only 15 minutes to bourbon street and 10 minutes to Frenchmen."
Clean facilities: Fireside RV Resort maintains spotless common areas. "Clean, bathrooms and washing/dryer areas are spotless. Site #26 is very spacious and perfectly quiet. Lots of green, grassy area and no campers on top of your space!"
Noise considerations: Highway noise affects some parks, while others have different audio challenges. "I-10 is across the street and a bit loud during the daytime, but less so at night."
Budget planning: Rates vary significantly between parks and by season. Pinecrest RV Park provides options 30 minutes from the city at more affordable rates. "Campground conveniently located right off the highway. Site was pretty level. Not much shade in the park."
Access routes: Some parks have challenging entry roads. "The road to get here is rough though, it's through an industrial park and looks very concerning, but then you come and find this! So nice."
GPS reliability: Navigation systems may not provide optimal routes. "Our GPS took us on a round about so ask them how best to get there when you book."
Pool amenities: Several RV parks near Metairie feature swimming facilities for children. "Very new and nice but packed a ton of sites into a little area. Lazy river and pool are nice as well but extremely crowded as it's about the only entertainment on campus."
Pet areas: Look for parks with designated pet spaces. "There is a park right outside the gate and we were able to run our dogs while we were here. Complex is walled with razor wire on top so we felt very safe staying here."
Playground options: Limited play equipment exists at some parks. "[New Orleans RV Resort & Marina] playground was not much. Place is fenced at gated for added security."
Space considerations: Jude Travel Park of New Orleans offers varying site sizes. "Simple, accessible parking and hookups. Clean bathrooms and showers. Pool and hot tub (loved!)."
Military option: Active and retired military personnel can access Military Park New Orleans Joint Reserve Base/NAS Aviation Arbor RV Park at reduced rates. "Great location, clean sites and facilities, well spaced between sites. $30 a night. Quite part of base."
Budget alternatives: Lower-cost options exist outside the main tourist areas. "Fanz Mobile Home & RV Park offers $600 a month or $175 a week (as of 11/2024), electricity and water included in price, FHU."
Maneuverability: Some parks have tight navigation. "Tight turn to get into the park. The man was nice enough to guide us to our site and help us back in."
Reservation timing: Book well ahead for major events. "While the standard per nightly rates apply to average, non-event dates, you'll realize pretty quickly here in the Big Easy that there's an event just about every week."
