Best RV Parks & Resorts near Liberty, KY

Several RV parks and resorts are located near Liberty, Kentucky. CampFire Ridge RV Park in Campbellsville offers full hookup sites with 50-amp service and is open to big rigs. Holmes Bend near Columbia provides water, electric, and sewer hookups with sites that accommodate larger RVs from April through October. Wilson Creek Recreation Area in Elk Horn operates seasonally from early May through late September with more basic amenities. Green River Lake Smith Ridge in Campbellsville features water and electric hookups with 50-amp service available, though some sites have limited space for larger motorhomes. "The sites were spacious, level sites that provide plenty of room for both our RV and outdoor activities," noted one visitor about their experience at a local RV park.

Most RV parks in the region require advance reservations, particularly during summer months when Kentucky lake access is in high demand. Cell service varies significantly between campgrounds, with one reviewer mentioning "practically no cell service with Verizon or AT&T" at Smith Ridge. Dump stations are available at most parks, though not all sites offer full sewer hookups. Many campgrounds near Liberty close during winter months, with most operating between April and October. Pet-friendly policies are common throughout the area's RV parks, though specific restrictions may apply. Roads leading to some campgrounds involve narrow, winding routes that may challenge drivers of larger motorhomes, particularly those accessing waterfront locations along Green River Lake and surrounding waterways.

Ridgeline Campground — Cumberland Falls State Resort Park

    Small but Nice!

Easy to find, well marked. It’s has many (12) trails and many falls. Would definitely recommend shopping before camping, it’s several miles, and mountains, to get to stores. There are several lodging options…cottages, The Lodge, (which is beautiful) tent and RV camping. There are 2 small campgrounds ~ 1) Ridgeline which accommodates RVs up to 26”, water and 10/30/50 amp hook ups. Sites have a fire ring and picnic table. WiFi is available, and there is a dump station. A small playground, office/campstore, and a bathhouse and laundry next to it. 3 sites are walk-in. Big rigs would have to stay elsewhere. 2) Clifty Campground is tent camping only 7 sites offer electric and water. WiFi is also offered. There is a bathhouse and a playground, and these CG’s are pet friendly. (Falls Creek is a few miles up the road…they have pull through and back ins. For bigger Rvs. They also have tents, wagons, cabin rentals, and primitive sites) We had no T-Mobile service, or satellite service in our vehicle. The trails and Cumberland falls were awesome. The horse rides looked amazing, and the Pool was big, with a diving board, and a small fee for campers to use it.

Cummins Ferry RV Park, Campground on the Kentucky River

Great park next to the river

This is a small well maintained campground right on the Kentucky river. It is down in a hollow which makes it secluded and quiet. There is a dock and a boat ramp. The customer service is exceptional. Under new management since November, they are making some very nice upgrades. 30/50 amp full hook ups with a number of pull throughs. The sites next to the river are level and easy to back into. There is a pavilion and a pool. It is about 30 minutes from Lexington and about 8 miles to the closest town. The one lane road coming in might give you the willies but it is worth it. They have 5 WiFi connections making this some of the best campground WiFi I have ever had. This is a lovely spot with nice amenities.

Cummins Ferry RV Park, Campground on the Kentucky River

    Cummings ferry campground

Small park restrooms and showers. Very clean. Nice pool. Camp store offers basics. Fairly close to shopping groceries etc. staff was friendly 30/50 amp service didn’t count the number of river view sites. But quite a few. Some sites have 20 X 12 elevated decks. Full hook ups. Pet friendly. Was very quiet the week we stayed. Didn’t feel like bringing the camper home so payed for another week and drive back the following week. Cell service. Isn’t the best WiFi was available if I remember. Correctly rates were reasonable

    Pioneer Playhouse Campground

This is all about the theater...not the camping

This place has some fascinating history and a unique outdoor summer stock theater experience. The oldest outdoor theater in Kentucky with 5 productions running through the summer months. Definitely a good time and casual dining evening with stories of many famous faces that have graced the stage: John Travolta, Lee Majors, Jim Varney...to name a few. The campground has 35 sites with little elbow room; all have electric(30 amp) and water, gravel/grass pads, shower facilities and bathrooms, and they do have a"rustic" dump station. Many of the sites seem to have long term tenants...so this is best for a one night stop and a show. The town of Danville has what you need for supplies and dining, loads of historical sites in the area and of course there is a Bourbon Distillery that must make the list of activities. pioneerplayhouse.com/visit-us/campground/

    The Farm RV Resort

The Perfect Getaway: The Farm RV Resort Review

If you’re looking for an idyllic spot to park your RV and unwind, The Farm RV Resort is an absolute gem. Nestled in a serene countryside setting, this resort offers the perfect blend of nature and comfort. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed by the friendly and helpful staff who made check-in a breeze. The resort itself is beautifully maintained, with spacious, level sites that provide plenty of room for both our RV and outdoor activities. We particularly loved the well-kept grass areas and the full hook-ups, making it super convenient for extended stays. The resort has a rustic charm that makes you feel like you’re getting away from it all, yet it still provides modern amenities. One of the highlights of our stay was the peaceful atmosphere. The surrounding farm landscape, with its rolling fields and calm breeze, is perfect for those who enjoy the quiet outdoors. We spent our evenings watching sunsets, enjoying the fresh air, and even taking walks around the grounds. For those looking for activities, the resort offers a variety of fun options. There’s a cozy clubhouse with games and a small store for essentials, plus a community fire pit where guests can gather and share stories under the stars. We also enjoyed the nearby trails, perfect for hiking or biking. We left feeling refreshed, relaxed, and already planning our next visit!

Great base camp for the area

Great place to stay for Cumberland Falls. Clean facilities. The place is great for any size RV/Camper. I was in a 40 footer. Just a few need to knows.

    • Wireless is unreliable and if there are a lot of people it is unavailable -Limited cell service really only consistent if you walk up to the road, I dont have booster.
    • Only the pull thru sites have sewer taps. All sites have water and 50 amp service though and a dump station is available.

    LockRidge Park

    A Diamond in the Rough

This is a true gem and one not to be missed. Unfortunately, our stay was limited to one night, however, we will definitely be returning to take advantage of the many amenities included. Full hookups, laundry, bath house, general store, tastefully designed accommodations, activities, and even an outdoor theatre; everything you need for an enjoyable long-term stay. The Site was quite large and accommodated our 24 ft rig and truck, and FH, which were very clean and well placed. Our site also provided partial shade, which in the warmer months would be very beneficial. Not to mention, the beautiful views with a lovely trail and lookout over Dix River that runs behind the property. Management/Owners were incredibly hospitable and friendly. We loved our overnight stay at Lockridge, it was quiet, peaceful, and absolutely beautiful. We camped at LockRidge Park in a Travel Trailer.

*TIP ~ Dix River runs behind the property, nearby there is a marina, waterfalls, trout fishing, and many other recreational activities. This venue also hosts events and has Harvest Host accommodations.

    Sheltowee Trace Adventure Resort

    Probably great in the summer

This was a one night stop on our way to Ohio. The property is nice and the sites are spacious. Didn't really like the placement of the fire ring. Had we used it, we would have been listening to our neighbor's music most of the night. We had a W/E site. Our Verizon cell signal was terrible and the campground wifi was not much better. The sites were gravel but were level. We didn't use the showers but they looked clean. The laundry room had only 1 washer and 1 dryer. The playground is best suited for toddlers. The dump station would have been convenient if we were dumping on the way in, but not placed well for dumping upon departure. They did have a zip line and a gem mining station for an extra cost. It was secluded enough that there wasn't a lot of road noise at night. It seems like it would be a nice enough campground during the summer. For the price paid for the site, it would have been nice to have included some of the extra activities. No cell or wifi service would probably keep us from staying here again as it was impossible to get any work done. Be sure to check out the Birthplace of Kentucky Fried Chicken. We didn't get to go inside the cafe(COVID), but we did have some photo ops outside.
