The park itself is giant, it ranges from the Gorge to the Fossil Collecting Area, to the campground and lake itself, and also Pioneer Village. Pioneer Village is like a miniature blast from the past as you walk around an entire village of homes and other little gems of the town. Upcoming they will have a pancake brunch and even an Easter egg hunt for the family! You can also go fossil collecting once you get a permit to do so, lots of fun! The Gorge has trails that connect to this area as well, and the Gorge is a beautiful place to just unwind and relax as well as walk trails. Hope you enjoy the photos and the little fella we found at Pioneer Village 💜🌻
Went in October, but did not write review until December. Great place and want to come back in the summer to enjoy the lake and pool. We had a nice level, shaded campground. Some sites are not level at all. So be sure to read up on the site you want before you book it.
Nice place to stay. We had booked a site for a weekend but when we got there we were informed that the site was double booked and the woman we talked to worked a miracle and got us a site. I'd defiantly go back. All sites had full hookups, very clean bathrooms and shower rooms.
While the tent spots did not have a lot of shade, the sites are close to the lake and make for some wonderful sunsets. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful and all in all it was a great stay. We rented bikes from the camp store and swam at the beach which was conveniently close to the tent sites. Lots of fun and 10/10 would return again. I'm excited to come back and see how the young trees they have growing in the tent sites take off.
