Great campground!

So, 20 years ago in 2001 we stayed here on our back home from Yellowstone. It was a dismal place. The guy who ran the place was a jerk. There was a terrible odor all through the campground, which turned out to be dozens of dead fish in their retention pond. We vowed never to go back.

One of my favorite parks

Wallashuck in Pella, iowa is one of my favorite places to camp. It’s mostly quiet and peaceful. Plus town is close and has plenty to entertain or fill up supplies

Very nice facilities, not great atmosphere

Very nice bathrooms, store, pool, etc as far as standard KOA amenities go. But very lacking on trees and very packed in. Site 31 is a “buddy site” and you are sitting on top of your neighbors with no privacy. It works pretty good if you actually have a “buddy”, but if you come alone it’s not…

A beautiful campground and nice staff

It was such a nice campground we could have stayed there a few nights but our plans didn’t allow for a longer visit.

Nice and relaxing

We had a 3 day stay. Our spot was pretty level and very large. Check in was very quick and they were very pleasant and helpful. Playground was next to us but it was fun watching the kids play. Full sun in the morning but afternoon was shaded by trees. Restrooms and shower was clean and close…

Small River Campground

It is a small river campground, no shower houses, but there is a Porta potty. Never too busy even on holiday weekends.

Nice Little Park!

Hidden gem just outside of Des Moines!

Pros: -Small park (only about 20 spots) but it’s easy to get a spot without reserving ahead -Site 15 for primitive campers is HUGE. Easily the size of 2-3 sites at other campgrounds. -Very shady campground, beautiful trees all around -Nice, well-marked…

Electric sites only, but beautiful area

All campsites at Timmons Grove are$18/night and are electric. I have visited this place many times but only camped once. This place has never been busy when I have visited.

I generally do not camp electric, so$18/night was steep for non-electric tent camping. There is no shower and the…

Small town camping

Electric sites, no reservations required I don't think. Nice bathrooms, 3 showers for the women's room with a family size shower. Nice playground, volleyball net, basketball court. Picnic tables and fire rings. No cell service down at the campground. You could call that a pro or a con! Really…

Pleasant stay when enjoying activities outside campground

Difficult to find entrance and difficult to locate camp site. Pleasant staff. Full hookups. Best if enjoying Adventureland Amusement Park or Prairie Meadows Casino and Racetrack. Not recommended if wanting to enjoy a true outdoors camping experience.

Nice Campground

This is a city campground on the outskirts of town that does not feel that way. It sits right next to a park. White rock roads and pads. It has some full hook up sites as well as water and electric sites. Overall a nice place to say.

Urban campground is near a busy highway

This campground has many sites to choose from - RV with hookups as well as some non-electric tent sites. There are quite a few activities in Marshalltown, and it is within the Marshalltown city limits.

The downside is proximity. It is right next to the highway. When I was there in a tent, the…
