Fishing and kayaking enthusiasts will find direct access to Lake Okoboji at Gull Point State Park Campground, a CCC-built facility that operates from April through December. The campground features 30 sites with electric, water, and sewer hookups accommodating RVs up to 30 feet, though the winding access roads require careful navigation for larger rigs.
The heavily wooded sites sit on varied terrain, with some positioned on slopes that can challenge leveling efforts. Campers consistently note the park's cleanliness, with well-maintained bathhouse facilities and a small beach area accessible via a short walk from the sites. The marshy areas near tent sites can produce mosquitoes during summer months. "Very close to the lake and a neat nature walk," notes Emily, highlighting the park's proximity to water activities.
Road access can be challenging for longer trailers due to tight turns throughout the park. Several reviewers mention that water hookups require filling at a central spigot rather than individual site connections. The park maintains a quieter atmosphere compared to busier Lake Okoboji destinations, with campgrounds near Milford providing additional options for those exploring the area. Cell service reports vary, and the ranger station may have limited staffing hours.
