Uneven terrain at some sites: Raccoon Cecil M Harden Lake has topographical challenges. "Great place to camp, can be flooded at times, some of the sites have a huge inclines or declines, allot of sites reserved way in advanced. There is a few pull throughs, no water hook ups at site," notes Dave R.

Multiple playgrounds available: Several dog-friendly campgrounds near Georgetown feature play areas for children. "This is very nice campground with the right amount of facilities. We stayed in a primitive site but they also have RV sites and cabins. There is a playground for the kiddos if you have them, a volleyball net, and horseshoes," shares Leah M. about Peaceful Waters Campground.
Beach access for swimming: Families can enjoy water activities beyond fishing. "Fun filled!! I loved this camp ground, there was a beach which was nice and a building to get food. They have a basketball court, and a few trails. We stayed Thurs thru Sunday and had a very nice time," reports Staci J. about Raccoon Cecil M Harden Lake.
Paddle boat rentals: Turkey Run Canoe & Camping offers family-friendly water recreation. "Site 91 was tucked away in a more forested area away from RVs. Did a nice kayaking loop using their service. Had everything you needed, very chill experience. Will return fsho," says Rowan G.
Tips from RVers
Check site levelness: Many campgrounds in the area have uneven sites. "Site 10 which was uneven, no room for a tent, and small. Next time we would try 9. The campground offers a beach and fairly busy fishing lake, some trails," advises Jeremiah G. about Rockville Lake County Park.
Shared electrical hookups: Be prepared with adapters and extension cords. "The electric is shared with another site which could be a problem if you have the same type of service since there is only one 50 amp, one 30 amp, and one 20 amp service per hook up," explains Scott B. about Turkey Run Canoe & Camping.
Water access points: Note the location of water fill stations. "There is portable water at the entrance but the road coming and going to the campsite is only wide enough for one rig and you will block traffic while you are filling up," cautions Scott B. at Turkey Run Canoe & Camping.
