Hawthorn County Park

The primitive camping spots are very spacious and there’s plenty of trees for hammocks and a little privacy. The lady working there was super nice and it was pretty cheap. A road was next to our spot though so it was kinda loud.

Went there to check it out. Small, dirty and unkept. Don’t waste your time.

Generally well kept. Two large lakes on the property for fishing. A handful of trails that are easy to moderate.

This is a Great Park, my wife and I camp here all the time. Large sites, because they are very wooded lots of shade, not far from downtown, also close to shopping (i.e. Walmart, Meijer). Lots to do in the park as well, fishing, archery, bike riding, canoe/kiak dock, and lots of very nice trails for hiking/running. They've also just updated their campsites, pull throughs have 30/50 amp electric. Some sites have both water and electric hookup and a view of the lake from your site. If you ever have a chance to visit I highly recommend it.

Very friendly staff. Lots of shade on campsites. Very clean showers.
