    Mountain Home RV Park

Mountain Home is a great place to stay

Mountain Home RV Resort is a picturesque park with over 280 spots split between a more established shaded spots and newer less shaded area. There are many long term residents yet given the number of available spots this does not present a problem. Shower and laundry facilities are plentiful and clean. There is no charge to use the shower and the cost of washers and driers is nominal. I would defiantly stay here again.

    Best RV Park Ever

This park is an absolute gem. We are completing a trip from Washington to NH and back and have found this one to be the best RV park we have ever stayed at. The park is beautiful. The paved driveways are awesome. TONS of room for RVs to pull in. The staff is extremely kind and helpful. The park is prestine. The pool was the perfect temperature, the hot tub is nice, there is basketball, tennis and horse shoes. Tons for families to do here. Lots of people take walks at night around the streets of the park. I can’t rave about this place enough. STAY HERE!

Military Park Idaho NG Gowen Field

Gowen Field Campground (Military Fam Camp)

This small RV park is open to active or retired military personnel only.  I do not fall in this category so I could not go in but it is near my house so I drove around the base to see if it was visible from the road.  The location of the park is actually kind of interesting.  There are tanks, and heavy equipment on display.  There is also a military museum in part of the complex.  There appears to be nice green space with in the complex.  According to their website, There is a store, a gym with showers on site.  Only 7 concrete slab sites.  Back in only.  Full hook-ups.

    Small grounds with peaceful atmosphere

These grounds are truly tiny. There are several spaces occupied by long term residents and others have visitors like us who are just passing through. The grounds themselves are well-kept with lots of mature trees around the sites providing shade and large shrubs and fences ensuring privacy from the outside.

The park has easy entry on N 18th, the park roads are quite wide and navigable and there’s an exit gate just on the other side. While the park accommodates large trailers, I believe all spots are back-in and there’s a couple tricky areas that would be best suited for small trailers. For $40, the price is reasonable for a level pad and full hookups. It’s very quiet, situated off the main road across from a cemetery and a funeral home. It’s a really great option if you want to pay a bit less than the large park down the street and be around far fewer other RVers!

The Perfect RV Park For Visitors to Boise, Idaho

This RV Camping Site is AWESOME! They do allow tent camping and have cabins. They have full hookups for RV's as well. There is a lower rate for "back-ins" to the Boise River Greenbelt. They also have a higher rate for Pull Through Sites for RVs. There is so much to do in the area. Biking, hiking, walking along the Boise River. There is also some great fishing on the Boise River. This location is centered for city goers, snow skiers, white water rafters and anglers. We visited some nice restaurants within a short drive of the campgrounds. We rode our bikes along the trails, upstream and downstream. The campgrounds also rent bikes for those that don't have their own :-) You will not be disappointed with this campground if you want to get to know Boise, Idaho.

    Good quality rv resort

Very good quality rv resort with all the expected amenities. Can be very windy and unfortunately noisy during the night - especially the I84 and many freight trains passing through the night. Free WiFi is very weak and intermittent so bring your own.

Nice Clean Campground near Craters of the Moon

We stayed in site# B4 with full hook up. Nice level site with a picnic table very clean. We stayed here because it's close to Craters of the moon which is a neat national Park to visit. It's a dark sky park and has great little hikes.

The campground had a little restaurant that is open on weekends so we had a good dinner in there they served Ribs (fall off the bone), a loaded baked potato, slaw & garlic toast for $16.00 and they have beer & wine.

This was a stop on the way from Florida to Oregon glad we stopped here.

    Ambassador RV Resort

    Absolutely Nicest!!!

We stayed at the Ambassador RV Resort in Caldwell, Idaho in July and September 2021. This is one of the nicest, cleanest, well-maintained parks we have stayed at. This RV resort is a short drive off I84 and when you pull through the front gate, you become immediately aware that you are in for a great stay. The park is impeccably maintained. Huge pull-thru sites on level river rock pads. Directly beside the rock pad is a wide concrete patio area followed by another wide grassy area. Tons of room to set-up and relax outside. The pool, hot tub, and steam room are centrally located and are clean and inviting. The office and maintenance staff are top notch. You can even drop your garbage bag at the back of your camper in the morning and they pick it up and dump it for you. If you need propane, they will pick up your tank and bring it back to you. The resort also has the nicest gated dog run area we have ever seen. The WiFi worked great and they have cable. It was an absolute joy to stay here and we went back a second time this summer because we enjoyed it so much! For videos of the resort, visit our YouTube channel: Jeff & Steff’s Excellent Adventure.

Multiple private bathrooms to shower/clean up. WiFi is basic but fast. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. All sites are level, asphalt with room for 2 cars beside the RV.

Several long-term tenants. Even a separate group of sites for those that need to smoke/vape.

Bathrooms available 24/7 with code. Rec room with billiard table is very cool

    Weekend trip

We decided to take a weekend trip to this hot springs for our maiden voyage in our new travel trailer. The site was exceptionally clean as well as all facilities, to include restrooms. The staff were eager to help and provide the history of the hot springs. There are few RV hookups, so if you choose to go reserve in advance as well as reserving slots for the pool or hot tub, they only allow 25 people on the pool for 1 1/2 hour increments so it's not cramped. I definitely recommend this place and will go again myself.

Out in the middle of NOWHERE

Fort Running Bear RV Park, Idaho

If you like the middle of nowhere, you will like Fort Running Bear RV Park. It is approximately 32 miles to the middle of nowhere, the last three are on a dirt road. You are driving through scrub country with no trees and hills in the distance. Then you see a copse of trees in the distance. That is where you end up. This is an older campground, private and family run. There is a shower house attached to the swimming pool and a laundry room. The sites have room around them for tents, bikes, etc; a covered picnic table , most have shade and fire rings. There are full hookup sites and basic sites. When we visited the wind was wiping through the area. The owners are personable and friendly, the campground is well maintained. The shower house ...clean and a little old. This would be a nice place to spend a quiet weekend or time with the family. It would not make sense to use this campground for a base camp due to the distance from anywhere.

    Mountain Home RV Park

    Full service and full comfort

UPDATED 2021: This place continues to provide excellent service and clean, spacious sites. Propane is a reasonable price ($2.70/gal as of 3/21). One awesome discovery I made this time around was a trailhead that starts behind Walmart and extends for about 2.5 miles towards Legacy Park. If you’re a runner or walker... give it a shot!

Everything about this RV Park is well-planned and fluid. From the arrival greeting to the spaces themselves, the facilities and the landscaping... it’s all warm and welcoming. They take great care of this park. The spaces are level, the grass between spots is large and manicured, and all the facilities are clean. We didn’t use the restrooms or showers but were told they’re in excellent condition. The sites are very easy to access and the picnic benches are spotless... which is borderline weird. There is a dog run, heated pool and spa, laundry, tetherball and more. Mountain Home RV Park is about 1 hour from Twin Falls and 45 min from Boise. In between both cities are tons of opportunity for outdoor adventure. Less than a mile from you RV spot is a Walmart and a Pilot station. They have propane refilling on site at the park. We would have stayed here for a month if we had the time. We will definitely return.

    Boise Riverside RV Park

Management is Nice Enough, But the Place is a Dump

Like most (it seems) campgrounds, this place is badly in need of maintenance. When it rains, the "roads" (term used loosely) are mud puddles. Your site is too, unfortunately. Most of the park is long-term scum campers, junk all over the sites, loud trucks, loud music.

To top it off, many of these hobos take pleasure in putting dog food bowls of duck food out, so you can count on duck crap all over the place, on your rig, on your vehicle. The constant quacking makes you think you're on an island in the river. It will drive your dog nuts too.

    The Greenbelt:

Pretty, but VERY overcrowded. If you're looking for some peace walking by the river, forget it. Spandex wearing cycle maggots, too self-important to even bother to say "on your left" or ring a bell, come ripping up behind you, inches away, as if they despise you "being in the way". Most are wearing mirror shades so they don't have to smile at anyone.

All in all, there are much better places to spend time in Idaho. Try Idaho Falls, or Twin Falls. Stanley and Coeur d'Alene are both gorgeous. Boise is basically California, including the the corresponding batch of jerks just like you find in California.

Originally planned to stay here three months, left after a few weeks. Obviously, won't be returning.

    Nice park and pool.

We stayed at Snake River RV Park in Idaho Falls, Idaho in September 2021. This park is a FHU pull-thru site and also has back-in sites. Customer service is really bad

We stayed at this park in Sept 2022.  We decided to make a reservation again in 2023 because the best part of this park is you are right next to the green belt.  Unfortunately, This place is run with a "like it or not, we don't care" attitude.  Toni, who runs the place, has terrible customer service skills and there is no room for negotiation.  We made a reservation on Mar 17, 2023 for 8 days in August, 5 months in advance and we cancelled on April 2, 2023, within 2 weeks of making the reservation in the first place.  We were required to pay a $300 deposit which is non-refundable.  Their non-refundable policy, is to make up for money lost because a site was tied up, but for this reservation it was tied up for only 2 weeks, so I'm pretty certain they didn't lose money.  We have tried to reach out to Toni by phone at least 10 times.  Once, we even got her husband and he promised us he would have her call us.  Nope.  Never happened.  The customer service rating is because Toni will not return a call and refuses to negotiate.  She won't give the common courtesy to work something out with her.  She really doesn't care what you think or even your side of the problem.   Not a good way to run a business. Like I said, if you ride bikes and like the greenbelt its a okay place to stay but make sure you don't put a $300 deposit down.  The entire park is gravel/dirt roads except for some lawn that a few small campspots are on.  There are lots of residents staying long term in very old and run down trailers.  Kind of junky.  Be careful if you decide to stay here and for sure don't make a reservation for more than a couple of days so you don't lose your deposit.

1.5 minutes waiting for this screen to load

First, the people here seemed nice on the phone. We arrived late and retrieved the packet with our assigned spot (#5), but there was someone in an old beat up class C that was half in our spot.  The owners had left. I tried a spot nearby (#7)but the power was bad so I backed into our spot as far as I could and extended our power cord as far as it would go and we were able to reach the power which tested good. I was concerned we would have an issue with the owner of the class C. I called the RV park number, and they told me that the other person was just going to dump their tanks and leave. The soon after a two truck arrived. The owner showed up right after and apparently the rig had broken down and the owner asked the tow company to remove it. I felt bad for them.

Great. So now we can eat and get online. Well, maybe just eat. Getting online involved something called "Tengo Internet", Spanish for I have internet. We decided that it should be called "No Tengo Internet" as it takes fifteen minutes to give them all of your information and create an account and then I was able to get online with my MacBook. My wife was trying to use an iPad mini and we had to call their technical support. They were patient and helpful and after typing in a direct IP address we were able to get her iPad on. Success after only an hour!  But she was trying to watch Netflix. It took a minute and a half just to load this screen for this review. I was able to get some very low res YouTube to play with only a few halts while waiting for the buffer to load. I would upload photos, but I need to go elsewhere and I am sure it would take a day or so to get a photo uploaded from here.

On the plus side, my wife said the bathroom was clean. There is a playground for kids, each site has full hookups and a picnic table. Our site was level. We did not have problems with insects.

Primarily RV with nice Tent area

This is primarily an RV park, with monthly rates. It is very well manicured and maintained.

There is however a nice tenting area with plenty of shade and grass. This is separate from the RVs and you might be the only one in the tent area. There was only one other group during our stay of a few days. Leave your vehicle in the parking area and walk to your site.

It's a good place to stop if you're on your way through, or visiting in the area. Much nicer than anything else in the area.
