Given’s Hot Springs

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Reservations are available at Given's Hot Springs, a privately operated campground in Melba, Idaho, priced between $30 and $40 per night with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer. The site sits along a road corridor and functions well as an overnight stop between Boise and Salt Lake City. Tent campers have access to a grassy area, and RV sites come with the utility connections most travelers need. WiFi is available on-site, and campers with pets are welcome.

The main draw is the hot spring pool, which runs at roughly 94 degrees and is housed indoors, along with private rooms containing individual hot tubs. The pool is included for up to two campers, with an additional charge beyond that. Note that the pool and campground do not open until noon, so early arrivals should plan accordingly. Reviewers mention the property is dated and maintenance has been inconsistent, with some noting trash around the grounds and bathrooms that fall short on cleanliness. The site does have a small historical marker connected to the Givens family's westward journey on the Oregon Trail.

Weekends tend to draw larger crowds, so those who prefer a quieter stay may want to time their visit to a weekday. One reviewer noted the water on-site comes from the hot spring itself, meaning campers need cold water on hand to mix before drinking. Drinking water is listed as available, but that detail is worth confirming when booking. Wilson Creek Road BLM Dispersed — Owyhee Foothills to the south gives campers a free, undeveloped alternative for those wanting a different experience in the area.

Very nice place

There is a large grassy area for tents, it also has an inside heated swimming pool with personal hot tubs that are also in private rooms. The staff is friendly and the scenery is gorgeous. You got to come check it out

Camp was closed to camping but open for springs

GPS was wrong. I ended up on the wrong side of the river. Google was looking for a school. Finally found the location by moving the map around. It looked worn out and they where not open for camping. Saved me some money

Nice enough

Stopped in last minute, as usual. Really grateful to stay here. It’s by the road, it’s super outdated walking around the property there is trash everywhere it’s definitely Past its heyday it be great if someone could pump some money into this and a little bit of TLC. I dry camp it was 10 bucks and they have a really good Wi-Fi! I was here on the weekend it was crowded and I did not feel comfortable indoors during a pandemic.

Quiet and relaxing

Had a great stay at givens, it was not very busy and made for a great quiet campsite. We also enjoyed swimming in the hot spring. Everyone was super friendly too. We will be back in the future !

Neat place to stay

Great stop midway between Boise and Salt Lake. Campgrounds were really comfortable (and green). The springs/pool was surprisingly refreshing even tho 94 degrees on a hot day in July. Fun place, little historical landmark describing the Givens' trek westward on a covered wagon. If you are fussy about clean bathrooms, however, this may not he the place for you.

Fyi the pool/campground does not open until noon- can call ahead on their site for reservation. Pool open until 9- extra charge to swim if more than two campers. Well worth it :)

Perfect choice!

The owner told me their family found this hot springs while they were on the Oregon trail! Loved this information. The owners are welcoming and the whole place feels friendly. I was able to rest well between two friendly trees. The pool is clean and healing.

Has potential

This place has great potential, but just isn’t quite there. The indoor pool is great. It’s as warm as a bathtub, but still cool enough that you don’t overheat in 15 minutes. The facilities are VERY outdated, but still functional. The only water available comes from the hot spring, so you have to take cold water to mix it, or wait for it to cool before drinking. With some updates, this could be a high quality place.
