Just one mile North of quaint Idaho City. Walking distance to the Rodeo Arena, playground and just around the corner is the public RV Dump. 

About a mile to Morris Creek for a cooling swim. 

2.5 miles to The Springs, Hot Springs Retreat.

So much history in this part of the Boise National Forest.

Boise National Forest Whoop-em-up Equestrian Campground

Overview: Deadwood Campground is a small campground that is located at the scenic confluence of the Deadwood River and the South Fork of the Payette River on the Banks-Lowman Road 17. Visitors enjoy rafting, kayaking and fishing on the South Fork Payette River, and hiking the nearby trails. The campground is adjacent from the river acces point. Natural Features: The campground is situated at the foot of a forested hillside. Towering Ponderosa pines are scattered throughout the site, offering partial shade. Summer wildflowers dot the landscape. Recreation: The Deadwood Ridge trailhead is located in this campground, and the campground also serves as a river access point for the South Fork of the Payette River. Camping use at this site is moderate. Driveway lengths for RV's are limited to camp trailers less than 15 feet in length. Nearby Attractions: Numerous natural hot springs pools can be found along the Banks-Lowman Highway, also known as the Wildlife Canyon Scenic Byway. The area offers scenic views, wildlife watching, historical information kiosks and several trail opportunities. Whitewater rafting and kayaking are popular activities on the South Fork and Main Payette Rivers. Several companies in the area offer guided half and full-day trips.

ALERT - The Swirly Canyon segment of the South Fork Payette River stretch offers opportunities for camping and fishing in a scenic mountain area. The BLM's South Fork Recreation Site is an undeveloped camping spot along the river.

Silver Creek Campground is located 25 miles north of Garden Valley, Idaho, in beautiful Peace Valley at an elevation of 4,490 feet. Peace Valley offers a variety of great trails. Fishing and hunting are popular activities as well. This campground offers paved roads and paved parking spurs, drinking water, and accessible vault toilets. Many single and double campsites are available, all of which are accessible. Each site is equipped with a tent pad, a fire ring, as well as picnic and utility tables. Two accessible group campsites are available with picnic shelters, multiple tables, campfire rings, grills, and ample parking. The Lodgepole Springs group site can accommodate up to 80 people, while the Cabin Creek group site can accommodate up to 100 people.

Overview: Willow Creek Campground is located along the Middle Fork of the Boise River Forest Service (FS) road 268 and the north end of the Arrowrock Reservior. There are 9 campsites at the campground. A stay at the campground enables guests to enjoy all the beauty and recreation offered along the river and reservoir. Weather is usually good from mid-May through late September and is easily accessible by car in good weather, although the road is sometimes rough and the drive can be seemingly long. Checking with the District on road conditions before heading out is recommended. Natural Features: Wildlife watchers may want to look for deer and elk. Waterfowl, eagles and osprey are attracted to the river. Recreation: There are several trails in the area including trail #189 beginning near Cottonwood Campground, leading to Bald Mountain Peak. Check the Idaho City Ranger District Motor Vehicle Use Map (MVUM) for trails in the area that are open to hikers, equestrians, mountain bikers and off-road vehicles. Click here for an Idaho OHV safety message. The Middle Fork Boise River and Arrowrock Reservoir offer excellent trout fishing and good swimming holes. Big game hunting is a popular activity in season.
