Beautiful location right on the river! With great fishing! Good amount of shade in the campgrounds with sturdy picnic tables, fire pit and steal table for hot pans, food prep or cleaning your fish...now we must have gone when the misquitos were bad because holy cow were they bad, and no amount of anything repelled them. From 8am to about 10 pm, they swarmed us all! We came home looking like we had chicken pox. Our first night (Thursday) was peaceful and not terrible. Friday night though, about 8 cars pulled in and parked like assholes, piled 7 tents onto the beach and blasted their damn mariachi music all night until about 4 am, even though we asked them to turn it down. They had strobe lights, 3 construction type lights projector lights going all night. Total about 20 people. Then saturday night 6 more cars and 20 more of the same group did the same thing except half were in the campground so theor music was blasting up there and on the beach, which they had completely taken over. They were keeping too small of fish as well as fish youre not even supposed to keep, they dumped their trash bags full of their bathroom bucket into the port-a-pottys, left trash all over the place. It was really unfortunate to see that thats how people treat our state and country. Probably a good place to camp later in the season. Just drive very slowly there and back.
