Simple, clean, convenient

Lots of open space, trees, by a river. Clean bath house with hot showers. Right on Chief Ladiga Rail trail about 6 miles west of AL/GA border. We road east, will come back to ride west segment. Dark at night for star gazing. Friendly folks.

KNOW YOUR LOCATION

READ- Some of the reviews of Sweetwater Campground at Allatoona are for Sweetwater Creek State Park. These are two completely different parks in two completely different parts of Georgia. SCofA does not have a mill, ruins, river or mountain trails. It does have a lake. Allatoona Lake. Pay attention…

nature heals

This is a very nice place. With great people and great views. Getting out in nature,as this place allows, brings us back to our roots, connects us back to the Earth and it's other inhabitants, the animals and plants. This is a wonderful place to do this.

Friendliest Folk’s Ever

Navy is a small park with rolling hills, wooded sites and lots of shade. We’ve stayed at site 11 and 12, both accommodated our 28 ft camper well. They have a small sandy beach and beautiful Allatoona lake all around. Best feature though is the wonderful staff. Everyone was so friendly and helpful.…

It’s a campground with hiking trails

Not much to do but hike. You can kayak the Chattahoochee river if you are brave enough to deal with the pollution. Other than that, it’s a good place to relax if everyone doesn’t bring their massive barking dogs along. We found it very hard to enjoy all 3 times we went because of the dogs barking…

Nice county park

Easy to book and pay online, nice (short) hiking trails, geocaching, play areas for kids, full hook ups in the upper loop.

Con- weekend crowd destroyed bathrooms, sites are close together, if you get someone who doesn't know how to park in the loop, you struggle to leave

Privacy - nice wooded County park

Great county park. Has tent and under 28' ft rv (red) sites and yellow above 28' ft rv sites. Includes pull through and back in sites. Bathhouses are kept clean. Has lots of paved walking trails, fishing, boating, sand beach/swimming, and mini golf. Only reason for 4 stars is there is no septic,…

The Northern Estate on the road

Great location, nicely laid out park, what an incredible focal point. The 30 amp breaker was broke luckily we got a 50 to 30 adapter, all good. We took just 20 steps from our camp to see the iconic rock. Campground was inside the city park, must pay an additional one time $20 for vehicle to enter…

Camping @ Stone Mtn Park

We had a blast the year we camped out at Stone Mtn, We rode the ferry boat, the train, then walked up the mountain to ride the skylift back down it just in time to watch the laser show. After the laser show was over and we ran around the big grassy area waiting for the cars to clear out we headed…

Nice primitive campground.

This campground is so peaceful no matter what time of year you go.

  • Nice campsites. No electricity or water. Filled our holding tank and brought generator in case we needed it.
  • Hiked on Chief Ladiga Trail which has gravel road to campground.
