TravelerThe campground is very nice. The sites are shaded and very clean. It is easily accessible and easy to get around in. The swimming beach is okay. It is a sand beach which is clean and easy to access the water, but I would not necessarily say the water is very clean. It is definitely better than many of the other lakes we have seen in Georgia, though! I would recommend staying here if you need a spot in central Georgia

GuideGiven four stars cause at least it was free. I was actually the only camper there on a Monday night. It’s cool by the river if you like fishing. Bugs of course. Seems like a lot of locals would just drive down there and back. I did see some kids swimming right before I left.There’s a nice pavilion if you’re with the group. I only complain is it’s further off the main highway than I would’ve anticipated. But that’s on me!
GuideNo frills campground. Some spots have large square fire rings and others have round ones. We chose a spot right under a street light so we had plenty of light after dark. There is a boat ramp, shore fishing and a fishing pier all right here. They lock the gates at 10 so its only campers after that. Pretty much each site has their own trash can though a couple share if it logistically makes sense. You just pull in, pick a site and call the dam. You need to hit extension 3/damn operations/power plant or emergency assistance after 5pm. They will send some One down from the plant and its $5 out the door per night cash only. We were told it use to be free but they started charging to keep the trouble makers away. I will absolutely return here again. Such a way better deal Than the state park that wanted like $40 🤣. They have a shower house, but its up a steep Incline so if you have mobility issues you might not be able to make it.
GuideIt was a beautiful drive from I-75 and the location is worth the trip. It’s not huge but the pond and lake is amazing at sunset and sunrise. It was open 24/7 including the restroom at the office. The restroom is a bit rough because of the iron in the water but the fixtures appeared otherwise clean. Only 2 other quiet campers in the campground so plenty of room to spread out.
ScoutAfter reading previous review I can say they do have showers and bathrooms. A little away from where you park but not too far. Great park, nice sites, full hookups. Staff was super friendly and very helpful. They also have a laundry facility.
LegendThis is a HH location, but for $45 Campspot, you get full hookups and a $10 store credit. They have awesome selections when it comes to butcher meats, sauces and other stuff. The location is very convenient to 75, and has expected highway noise.
ScoutExcellent safe parking if you need to take a break to rest. No hookups but have wide parking spots, secured gated, fenced access. Easy walking access to Quiktrip next door. Right off exit
