Southern Trails RV Resort

The sound of interstate traffic carries across this year-round RV resort, though reviewers note it remains manageable for sleep. Southern Trails RV Resort sits in rural Unadilla, accommodating RVs up to 50 feet with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer connections. The campground operates on an honor system for check-in, creating a low-key atmosphere that appeals to overnight travelers and longer-term guests alike.

Sites are primarily grassy areas where campers select their own spots, with some offering shade while others sit in open areas. Fire ants present a notable challenge throughout the property, particularly near utility hookups, requiring campers to scout locations carefully before setting up. The grounds include a stocked pond with bass and catfish, plus amenities like an in-ground pool, playground, and miniature golf course. Horse stables border the property, providing sunrise views for early risers.

Cell service runs strong with T-Mobile showing four bars, while internet connectivity supports remote work needs. The on-site laundry facility operates 24 hours at $2 per machine. As Ashley T. noted, "the campground has on site laundry facilities open all hours... the stocked pond has some large bass and catfish plenty of ducks and might see some turtles."

Southern Trails works well for travelers seeking convenient interstate access with basic amenities, though the fire ant presence and road noise make it better suited for short stays than extended camping.

Guests commonly noted the peaceful atmosphere, helpful staff, and good facilities including laundry and recreation options. Some feedback indicated concerns about lot conditions and fire ant presence throughout the grounds.

Every other Week for about a year

Welp I had some long monologue of all the greatness and it deleted… I hate this phone. Here are the highlights… Monica works the front office and sometimes you will get to meet her flirty little grandson Monty. I can still hear his little voice and mischievous smile “imma pinch you” She is awesome and I enjoyed talking to her. I do miss this place as it was my very first experience in a campground long term. There is not much to do in this almost deserted little town… the campground has on site laundry facilities open all hours… the stocked pond has some large bass and catfish plenty of ducks and might see some turtles. On the border of the grounds there are horse stables. An in ground pool and playground and a little putt putt course… It is so beautiful just to take in the peaceful atmosphere has to offer. Only thing is watching out for the fire ants and certain times of the year gnats are pretty rough and the nonatz will not help it should be called mo natz (a funny joke my husband said as he offered it to his friends so the gnats would swarm to his buddy from work

SiteI don’t remember but it was a shady spot

Quick Stop

We stopped in for 1 night in our way up to the mountains and was pretty happy with our stay. The spot is no luxury resort but at least it's quiet. The lots are a little run down and the 50a are limited. There's also a lot of red ants so wat h your pets. I'd stay again for 1 or 2 nights but I wouldn't call it a temporary home.

Overnight spot

This campground is ok for an overnight stay. There is annuals and seasonal all through the campground. We were in a section behind the office. Set up  was on grass. you picked your own spot. Was level and power was fine ( we use 30 amp ) Some areas have shade and some are in the open. Keep in mine this is Georgia so check for red any's. A couple spots we decided not to take as the ants were right next to water/ electric hookups. You can see they try and keep the any population down, but if you lived in the south you know that's an everyday chore.

Had a beautiful sunrise as it is next door to a horse ranch of sorts.

We used their laundry and it was fine. $2 a machine.

Our ATT hot spot nomad internet was strong

Cell phone signal was 4 bars ( T-Mobile )

Road noise sleep able from I75 nearby.

Easy on off to this campground
