Lakeside North RV Resort

Crowded sites with less than 12 feet between RVs define this waterfront resort on the canals around Lake Okeechobee. Full hookups include electric, water, and sewer connections, though several long-term residents occupy run-down travel trailers year-round. Waterfront sites present access challenges, with one camper requiring machinery assistance to maneuver their RV in and out of the tight space.

The fishing draws visitors despite parking difficulties and maintenance issues like overgrown trees dropping berries and debris on campers. Staff receives praise for friendliness, and the area maintains safety and cleanliness standards. Monthly rates run around $1,725 with utilities included, though the recreation center sits out of order and the pool lacks heating. Campers seeking campgrounds near Okeechobee should expect a packed environment where long-term residents create a community atmosphere.

Many mentioned the friendly staff and welcoming community atmosphere as standout features. Some visitors expressed concerns about tight spacing and site accessibility, though waterfront canal locations offer good fishing access.

Good and bad.

Several run down travel trailers with full timers living here. Packed in tight. Most have less than 12’ between them. The rec center is out of order and the pool is cold. The people living here are very nice. They include you in everything. Area is safe and clean. $1725 from 1-16-23 to 2-15-23. Utilities included. Full Hook Up.

Lakeside North

We stayed here August-January. I did enjoyed staying here, however, I took 2 stars for the fact that we could BARELY get our camper in and out of the waterfront site (had to use some machine they luckily had because it was impossible with a vehicle) and an additional star for the fact that we had to ask for a month for them to trim the tree (that was scratching the roof of the camper, had purple berries that stained the camper, and were extremely loud falling on the roof constantly, and had 200 birds in it that were LOUD). Parking is also a NIGHTMARE, we were told we had a “parking space” right in front of our camper, and we did, until a person came back from up north and we had to park 3 campsites away. The staff was EXTREMELY friendly! I would stay here again if I could get a waterfront site on the end but I believe they are purchased year round. You are on the canals around Lake Okeechobee! The fishing is nice!
