    Glenwood Canyon Resort

    Has everything you need

I haven't actually stayed here yet but it's on my list. I did have a picnic down by the river and walked the grounds. It's a nice quiet place and like I said I will be back to RV camp. They have water front sites for tent camping and rv hookups up the hill. The cabins looked really nice too! This campground is right on the glenwood canyon bike trail that goes all the way into glenwood springs! Will return and do recommend.

    Lake-side camping

This place never fails. Always beautiful, great sunrises and sunsets. There's bathrooms and RV hook ups. Always a nice place. However it's pretty exposed so not alot of cover from wind. Always great to walk aroethe lake. Paddle boarding is a must if you own one. I'm not sure about any showers, i doubt it. Yes to designated camp fire rings. Like always pack in snd pack out.

Great location with easy access fishing

Great location with full hookups for RVs. The description mentions back-in sites only, and while our electric hookup was conveniently on the same side, we had to run our water and sewage lines underneath the RV since those hookups were on the opposite side—this seems to be the case for all sites. The campground is perfectly situated at the intersection of the Gunnison, Taylor, and East Rivers, making it ideal for fly fishing. They offer cabins, RV sites, and long-term housing options. There's a small store with basic items, beer, and merchandise, plus a fly shop in the same building. There's also a restaurant, though it was closed during our stay, and coin-operated laundry facilities. Overall, a great stay!

    Marble Area

    Great place

This campground is located right in town and walking distance to everything. However, it’s surprisingly quiet. I expected it to be much louder but was pleasantly surprised. There’s a friendly fox that roams the campground and a few marmots. The sights are clean but close together, as is with most RV parks. The bathroom is a little older but works great. The host keeps them clean and working well. We got up early and beat the crowds to crystal mill then walked from our campsite to slow groovin BBQ for dinner. Overall it’s a great place to stay if you’re wanting full hook ups while exploring the marble area.

Beautiful, serene camping along creek (with new owners)

Not your typical asphalt RV parking lot. Rarely can you find a full hookup site in a natural setting along a roaring creek. The park has a variety of accommodations with full hookup sites, a “tent” section with electricity (lovely for small RVS as well) and log cabins. Many of the sites are along the creek as it meanders through the camp.

Location is great as well. Easy drive from I-70 but far enough to be out of town. Also a quick drive into Glenwood Springs.

New owners purchased park in April 2021 and are improving facilities while maintaining the natural feel. Check-in was easy even without reservations. The new owners are very friendly and welcoming.

    Walk-in sites are great

We were in a Lakeview walk-in site. This is the first walk-in site I have encountered that provided wheelbarrows. It's by far the easiest walk-in site I have camped in. There's a gravel path of about an 1/8th of a mile back to the campsites. They're relatively secluded by vegetation and hills from other campers. You can hear your neighbors occasionally, but the privacy level is fairly good. On top of the wheelbarrows, the picnic tables are covered by an awning. Overall, the walk-in sites are excellent for tent camping. I don't recommend trying to reserve an RV hookup site for tent camping because these are open sites with a lot of asphalt.

Best Place to Stay In West Colorado

Amazing campground with three sections. Full rv hookups, multiple tent/small camper site, and also primitive camping in a separate spot deeper in the trees. All of the spots other than primitive, have water and electricity. The bathrooms have multiple showers and toilets that are cleaned daily. The owner, Beau, is incredible and will go above and beyond. (I joked about getting a fancy shower head for one of the showers, the next day he had installed one of those jet powered massaging setups). Multiple lakes in the immediate area with great fishing in some of the most clear water you have ever seen. A stream surrounds the place with frequent large trout. Hands down the best play to stay in this area.

    Glenwood-“Adjacent”

Let’s just start with the only downside- this campground is not near Glenwood. It’s about 20-25 miles into Glenwood Springs from here. So just know that going into it and everything else is great.

Now onto the awesome campground itself. The people are really friendly and the spots are perfectly level.

Our spot was right on the river which is beautiful. The campground maintains nice grass in the area, fire pits and picnic tables. The park is an all encompassing RV resort. There is a splash pad, a bbq/ picnic area, a trail around the river, a nice store, a pool, a dog park and to top it off big grassy areas to play in. It’s a very nice park.

I would also recommend checking out Rifle Falls (video attached) and Rifle Gap State Park which are both nearby!

    Glenwood Canyon Resort

    A splurge

After spending three nights in forest service campgrounds, we landed here, lucky to find a place with availability on a weekend in September (reservations made a month in advance). We opted for a riverfront RV site (#17) and we were right on the Colorado River, with the soothing white noise of the river putting us to sleep each night (interrupted only by the occasional LOUD train on the other side of the river).

This place has every kind of accommodation possible: (resort) cabins, cottages, glamping campsites, individual and group tent sites, and RV sites (some with full hook-ups, some with water and electric, some on the river, and some above it). The sites are laid out in typical RV park style, lined up like dominoes. This is not our typical preferred camping, but we were with friends, so we were able to create a little oasis between our sites.

The fire in August, Covid, and snow the first week of September essentially shut down all the extras this place has to offer– zip line, rock climbing wall, ropes course, and restaurant, so I cannot comment on these. But, Defiance Rafting is located on the property; while they were no longer able to offer rafting trips (due to potential rock slides resulting from fire damage), they did rent inflatable kayaks and we took advantage of this and had a rolling good time on the Colorado River!

The office staff is very nice and there is a small store in the office offering t-shirts, stickers, hats, etc. (but not food essentials). It is located about three miles from the town of Glenwood Springs and there is a trail leading from the resort that winds along the river to town. The trail east of the resort was still closed after the fire.

The bath/shower house was clean, but the shower set-up was funky in that there was no private area to undress/dress. The only other unpleasant thing was the odor emanating from what I would assume to be the waste/sewage facility and it was necessary to walk past it from the riverfront sites to the bathrooms. This and the price ($88 for a riverfront site) have me giving this place four stars instead of five, although I would consider staying here again if in the area.

    Efficient and clean

After driving 4-10 hour days from Canada in our 16’ travel trailer, staying at Harvest Hosts, we decided to stop here to prep and regroup for the next leg of our journey. Full hook ups allowed us to flush our water systems, recharge all batteries and devices, and wait out some seriously nasty wind, like lift the trailer right off the ground wind (well felt like it I swear!). The place is super clean, easy to access, has great views and a helpful staff. Pet friendly with a small off-leash dog area even. Looks good for families too with a pool and water park, playground. Wifi was good and cell service at 2 bars. Not cheap but easy access to supplies and touristy spots.

Awesome place to stay with SXS

We got there the Sunday before Labor Day and stayed all week. People were leaving so the park was fairly quiet. Full hook ups were nice to have. The temps were getting below freezing at night. Nice change from the Texas heat. The morning we left it was 23 degrees so protect your water lines. Great place to stay and ride out of park. Camp host were very friendly and we look forward to going back next year.

    Hidden gem, close to creek

This was a great find a few miles off Interstate 70.  The site we had was as close to the creek one could get and we enjoyed sitting out listening to the flowing water.

The camp managers, Dawn and Earl, went the extra mile to make our week enjoyable and checked in on us daily to see if we needed firewood or anything else.

They offer full hook ups, cabins, tent sites.  Small store on site with limited supply of camping goods.

Glenwood Springs is nearby.  Also not far to see some amazing water falls at Rifle Falls State Park.

Campground with a nice view of the lake

We stayed in Site # 60 in the cedar campground it had electric I believe we filled with water. There is a loop with full hook up but there a little further than the lake but nice. Our site had a nice covered area with the picnic table under it & a great view from it. The lake is good for kayaking other than there are some people that come a few times a week to pull kids on tubes and they about swamped up. It's a beautiful lake, the weather is warmer than everywhere else we were in Colorado but still nice. Loved watching the deer get a drink from the lake later in the day.

This park has 4 loops and there is a lot of nice sites. All have differrent things to offer.

Rifle falls is close by we spent several days taking chairs over there & sitting near the waterfalls it was cooler there. There is a campground there but it's busier and has a lot more people coming to see the falls.

Close by you have Rifle Falls, Glenwood Hot Springs, Iron Mountain springs a little less busy and really nice.

Fantastic primitive spot below the rocks

We loved our time at Cement Creek! We got there early afternoon on a Tuesday and had our pick of spots, ultimately choosing one down by the river. So many great sites, but if you have a camper/trailer, some are definitely going to be tough to get level in. The road is unpaved just past South Crested Butte, but it’s quite well maintained. Great spot to spend some time!

    Cement Creek Campground

Campground near Cement Creek, close to Crested Butte

Key things - 3+ miles down a dirt road (rough but nothing requiring a 4WD), no electricity, no water (except creek), no cell service with AT&T (not sure about others), 11 sites, normal size tent pads (a little small for my 9x12), out house toilets (2), great white noise from the creek if the water is flowing

Cost is $16/night.  $8/night with National Parks Pass number (make sure you have your pass so you can record the number)

This is a decent campground near Crested Butte.  If it is a dry spell, like it was for us, it is dusty and the road next to the camp is dusty.  Be sure to pick a site away from the road. Also pick a site away from the toilets. Site #9 is the best for privacy, if you are willing to carry your equipment down a short trail (we stayed in 8, 9 and 10 - all good sites).  All other sites are on the camp road.  The camp is dusty, which was exaggerated by our 2 and 3 year old grandsons enjoying running around creating dust clouds.  It was a nice weekend so the dirt bikers and atvs were busy on the road next to the camp, but didn't start before sun up and were gone before sun down (most went out in the morning and back in the afternoon - so not constant traffic).

Overall, we had a great time and the kids were able to run around without worrying about cars in the camp.  All of the campers there with us were quiet and went to bed by 9pm.  Many just came in, set up camp for the night and left the next morning - no long term campers.

We stayed the weekend of 13 Sept 2019 - days temps were in the 70s, nights went down to the upper 20s and lower 30s - take the right gear.  We ended up using a tent heater the first night (but I'm old and get cold).

    Would happily visit again!

We stayed in a camper van over a busy holiday and loved it! We were hoping for a peaceful getaway for us and our dog and found it at Kebler. Yes, some of the spaces are close together but everyone there made it work well. The angled spots and strategic landscaping help too. Plenty of grassy common areas to stretch your legs and your pup’s (on leash), so much so we didn’t feel like we missed out on anything by not being parked with the big coaches along the river. Even better since the large river spots had little/no natural shade (most seemed to have their own awnings that our van didn’t so no worries there I think for them). The tent spots were in a different area on the other side of the property a little away from the busier parts. They also had less shade but had level pads and but seemed closer to the bridge (and hiking). The community vibe was respectful and friendly and it was lovely to stroll about and enjoy it all. Families were out and about, playing with their children and trying different things to do. There was a little playground and some activities in a covered space like velcro axe throwing and corn hole. There were soccer goals set up at one of the grassy areas too. There was also a frisbee golf course, hammocks and picnic tables scattered around the property. A sign by the bathrooms invited camp guests to go gentle group hike if you meet at the bridge at the posted time in the morning. The general store was open during the day and had more than I expected (came for stickers and snacks, left with a game of Bananagrams and more). There wasn’t cell service but wifi worked well for what we needed. The bathrooms were clean and the water was warm. On a busy weekend you might need to use the portable toilets near the tent sites if the regular ones are occupied at a busy time. In the future, splitting the shower and toilet facilities might help with that long term, but I am not sure how hard (and expensive) that is to do in places that are tucked away into the mountains like this. We did use the coin laundry and that worked well. At the time of our visit it was $2 for the washer and $3.50 for the dryer. There was a variety of cute cabins for rent with a good range in size and cost - and some have own their bathroom and even little patio spaces. The hosts and staff were friendly and helpful, even doing trash pickup in the morning if you left it out at a certain time by your site. Kebler is in a beautiful setting, has thoughtfully-designed spaces and is carefully maintained. We would definitely come back - hopefully in a camper van / travel trailer or even just to stay in one of the cabins.

    Glenwood Canyon Resort

    Nice location

Tent sites. Small cabins and water/electric RV sites(<35’) are along the river. You do have to hike up a short hill to get to the bathroom/showers. Full hookup sites are on top of hill w/no river views. WiFi with a few. Excellent Verizon signal. Very convenient to Glenwood Springs

    Wonderful healing trip

I had an amazing trip to the ranch, I stayed at the Faith RV spot for the electricity and just loved it, listening to the wonderful goats during the day, enjoying peace and tranquility. I will definitely be visiting again very soon!
