Good spot

Private small campground, great hosts, clean, close to town and bike lane. A little noise from the road.

Convenient, clean, great access to hiking, biking, rafting

Gateway is a great headquarters for Aspen, to Glenwood Springs and Marble. FHU, friendly hosts, right on the bike path and next to the Roaring Fork River. It is not a destination campground, it is a the best place to park and explore the best of Colorado.

Lots of road noise, close neighbors, but thankful for a place for the night.

Cozy campground near Carbondale

This quaint little campground is just below the highway. While there is quite a bit of highway noise when outside, it didn’t bother us when we were inside our trailer.

The double wide sites offer picnic tables and a fire ring, along with full hookups. The facilities are well maintained and clean. The sites are a bit shallow (we could not lower the rear patio on our 25’ toy hauler).

Only minutes away from the cute little town of Carbondale. Here there are plenty of options to stuff your belly with great food and/or wet your whistle with local beers/distillations.

Located just above a beautiful river, the campground is close to a partially-paved 40+ mi bike path (Aspen <> Glenwood Springs). Although we didn’t have time to ride them, Trailforks shows some nice MTB trails nearby as well.

What do reviews say about Gateway RV Park in Carbondale?

Gateway RV Park receives mixed feedback, with most guests appreciating its convenient location and cleanliness. Many highlight the friendly hosts and the park's strategic position as an excellent base for exploring Aspen, Glenwood Springs, and Marble. The proximity to town and the bike lane is frequently mentioned as a plus. The main drawback noted is road noise from the nearby highway, though some mention it's less noticeable inside RVs. Are there RV rental options available near Gateway RV Park in Carbondale?

While Gateway RV Park itself doesn't advertise on-site RV rentals, the Carbondale and Glenwood Springs area has several RV rental businesses that serve visitors. For those flying in or arriving without an RV, renting locally and staying at Gateway is a practical option. The park's full hookup sites can accommodate various rental RV sizes. How does Gateway RV Park compare to other RV parks near Glenwood Springs?

Gateway RV Park distinguishes itself as a smaller, more intimate option compared to other facilities in the Glenwood Springs area. Its location in Carbondale provides a strategic advantage for those wanting to explore both Aspen and Glenwood Springs. While it may not offer the extensive amenities of larger parks, Gateway compensates with clean facilities, friendly management, and easy access to the regional bike path and Roaring Fork River. The park excels as a convenient base camp rather than a resort-style destination, offering good value and ease of access for travelers exploring the region.
