Hermit Pass OHV

This free dispersed camping area sits within San Isabel National Forest and requires careful attention to road conditions. One reviewer notes that "the road never eases up" and warns vehicles may need brake maintenance after the challenging drive to reach the site. The Forest Service allows campfires, pets, and alcohol at this location.

Campers can access the area by driving, hiking, or walking in, with both forested and open terrain available for setting up camp. The demanding access road limits this spot to those comfortable with steep, sustained grades and confident in their vehicle's capabilities. For those seeking established facilities, Alvarado Campground provides developed sites several miles southeast.
