Lower Prince Creek Campground

Five primitive sites sit alongside a gravel road across from Prince Creek, a class 3 trout stream, on BLM land outside Carbondale. No potable water is available. Sites 3, 4, and 5 run close to the road, while thick scrub oak between sites provides reasonable separation. A pit toilet is on-site. Mountain bike trails connect directly from camp. First-come, first-served; bring all drinking water and expect possible cattle activity in the upper loop during summer months.

MTB Paridise

Stayed with some friends at the upper group site for the weekend. Easy access to mountain bike trails and the greater Carbondale area. During our stay in June, the upper loop was overrun by grazing cattle. Solid choice for those looking to explore the Roaring Fork Valley without breaking the bank. No water. Pit toilet in each loop. FCFS.

Campsites Nestled in Scrub Oak

This is a BLM site with five primitive camping sites available. However there is a bathroom. I didn't locate any potable water spigots. As of the time of this posting, it appears to be a newer campground. I would guess about 5 years old. It is right across a gravel road from the Prince Creek (class 3 trout stream) and surrounded by some great hiking and biking trails. I would say except for the large picnic area and site one, the campground is best set up for tents and camper vans. There is fairly decent privacy due to the thick scrub oak between each of the sites. sites 3, 4 & 5 are close to the gravel road.
