    Close to wine country

Lovely campsite with very sweet camp hosts. Always waved when they drove by.

Chose site 17 because of the beautiful tree seen in another review but was felled prior to our arrival, so no big tree. We did however get a beautiful view of the stars.

Two things to note, some of the sites (didn’t look like all of them had this issue) have an incredibly fine dusty dirt that gets on absolutely everything, it made our feet, legs and sandals completely beige from the dust and we had to wipe them with wet wipes before going into our tent and tracked a fair amount into our car upon leaving.

The other thing we were disappointed with was that we had to pay for showers on top of already paying over $50 for our site for one night, we felt that was a pretty big con and that it should be included in the fees.

Overall, you can’t get closer to the wineries and it was an otherwise lovely site.

    Beautiful

This rv site was awesome. It's quiet beautiful, lush green. Be aware tho. It's full of poison oak!!!! But yiu can get around it.
There are no hook ups. But the sights are mostly shaded, so it was a great help and I did not go in a hot time of the year. They have good hours for use of generators as well We Brought our electric bikes and rode to the geyser in Calistoga and to multiple wineries It was a great way to travel

Not Ready for the Public Camping But a Lot of Potential

On the positive side, the people that work there are very hospitable and friendly.  We had reserved 2 days.  But for $70 per day for 2 people (they charge by the person per day) there are not enough amenities and the grounds are not well kept.  Check in is not until 4pm.  First, there is no place to put garbage.  You have to take it with you.  Bathrooms are just blue porta-potties.  There is a map of the property, but almost no signs on the property, so it's hard to know where you are in relation to the map.  The campsites are numbered on the map, but not at the physical campsites.  Although the property is in the mountains and there is a reservoir for swimming and boating, (a big plus), there are tools and equipment in various stages of disrepair at several places on the facility that are not screened from view of the camping areas.  The RV hookup areas are too primitive compared to typical campsites.  (again, the price is too much for what you get)  There are canoes and kayaks available for use at the reservoir, (a very nice amenity) but various boating equipment litter the shores and spoil the views.  I was told this facility caters mainly to group events, like weddings and there are nice glamping tents available.   But it looked like they just didn't pick up after the last party.  We left after one day.

    Clean and spacious

Went up the coast in June knowing it would be hard to find a spot. Just as I thought our chances were running thin we stumbled across this place. Mostly open sites, all were fairly secluded. Big spaces, clean area and ocean sounds abound. Kids loved it to ride their bikes around and I stressed less knowing there were few, if any, cars passing by. Site 6 had lots of Cypress trees for the kids to climb, too. We will be back!

    Quiet in Winter

Nice sites in Oak, Madrone and Manzanita forest. As many have mentioned, it’s also a Poison Oak farm, but if you keep to the trails and roads it’s fine. Many sites are not level. Road is narrow. Bathrooms clean, showers although clean were not inviting. ATT was a bar, occasionally two. Was able to make a call if I stood still. Minutes away from Calistoga and St. Helena. We imagine it’s a very busy place in peak season, but a nice quiet getaway in winter.

    Cabin stay

The basic cabin was just that, but spacious and the heaters worked very well. Nice, well kept campground with plenty of activities and access to a coastal trail. The community fire pit was a nice place to hang out at night.

    Quiet, fun, relaxing

We rented a camping yurt and we were so surprised how big it is! We received a key to our own bathroom and shower! They had a sink to was dishes in and a place to clean our fish. We rented a motor boat for a few hours to explore the beautiful lake.  Pet friendly. Great little beach. A dock to fish from. Everything you need to have a great time! They also have bigger yurts and cabins to rent. Also, RV parking .We have already booked another visit.

    Too crowded

They really packed too many tents into the area. Large groups dominate the areas. Loud and crowded. I will not be back. They need to have basically half the tents they have to make it pleasant.

    On the Lake

This place is clean. We were greeted by the camp host with a smile! Very friendly! She answered all our questions and showed us around. We feel in love with this place! 💕 You can fish right from your camp spot if you get a spot right on the water. Clean bathrooms, club house with games and a kitchen. Fire pits and BBQ's. Green grass in the BBQ area with a beautiful gazebo that has grapes growing on it! Felt very nice and cool since it was very hot in Aug. I highly recommend this place! 😉😎

Jake from the Dyrt here!  You can't ask for a more picturesque place to glamping, surrounded by the fields of the ranch & winery, while also within driving distance of San Francisco, this is a spot to check out!

    Incredible Views!

The road is a little tight to get into this resort( 1 lane road with traffic going both ways with few pull offs) but the views are absolutely amazing! We stayed in the Lakeview spot and had the entire place to ourselves during the week. It's definitely more of a summer stay but we enjoyed it in the fall just as much. Staff was very attentive and friendly, resort is quiet and secluded from the main road. MUST BE SELF CONTAINED TO STAY IN THIS LOCATION!!

    Great campground near wineries.

WE just stayed two nights camping and had a great time, site was good, bathrooms and showers were clean.   Good access to wineries close by.  Only real downside was that because of the dry conditions we could not have a campfire.

It was not a problem for us but ATT reception was poor, could not get messages at the site but sometimes could while moving around the campground.

    Nice & Secluded

This was nice for our family. This was our kids first camping trip and it was indeed a low stress environment. Bathrooms were not usable in my opinion but I have a bathroom tent with potty so it didn’t bother us. Upon arrival you are responsible for having cash to place in a envelope with your vehicle info and it’s to be left in a box at the entrance. If your burning a wood fire stop prior at the KOA to get it as well as your cash if needed. Don’t expect to camp on the beach as the pictures will fool you as it did us! You will need a vehicle or bikes to get you to the beach. We went August 30th prior to Labor Day and the weather was ok, no stars expect cooling temps in the AM.

    A paradise for kids

We stayed in one of the premium hot tub sites, where you get your very own hot tub. Highly recommend, my kids absolutely loved it and so did I! We were just a few steps from the pool, which was clean, but pretty cold. It didn’t seem like it was heated. If it is, it’s not heated well. We also went to the playground several times, which is super fun. The splash pad was a family favorite. The petting zoo, was also super cute and the animals seemed like they were well taken care of. The mini golf course was a blast, as well as the RC track. There was a ton to do, and we all had a blast. The staff was super friendly.

The pool is the best part!

This campground is only an hour from home for us, and it will be a regular frost. The prices are a little bit high, but that is to be expected with a KOA. The pool was so clean and warm, we were told it was 85°, and I believe it. The sites are all decent sizes. With walkways between so that people hopefully don’t walk through your site. The restrooms and showers were impeccably clean. There are RV, tent, and cabin sites. We will definitely go again. Highly recommend.

    Cozy spot on the lake!

This is the sweetest campground. The sites were on the smaller side, but came with a picnic table. And you’re blocked from the other campers by your RV. It’s a short walk from anywhere in the campground down to the lake. The water is crystal clear and there’s a little dock for jumping off of. They bring in sand for the beach which makes it a really nice experience. And apparently the canopies that were there are new. There’s an on-site snack bar and coffee bar with limited hours, which is a really nice touch. The owners were super friendly and accommodating. The road to get into the campground is very sketchy. It is extremely narrow and there is no where to pass along it. So make sure you abide by the check in check out times, which are significantly far apart, to ensure that nobody meets each other on the road. Sidenote, there are no campfires, except for propane fire, which was kind of a bummer. Highly recommend.

    Camping in wine country!

Great spot for cheap and restful accommodation while Visiting wine country. Yurts, and campsites, pull thru and rv sites. Not super cheap cuz you are in California but way more affordable than any hotel and 5 minutes from Calistoga, thru vineyard lined lanes. Lots of hikes for a hike level. Mosquitos started coming out but tolerable. Nice trickling river and peaceful pondering spots. Great bathrooms but bring lots of quarters for showers, helpful staff! Rico you are the best for giving me firewood!

    Wonderful location - mediocre sites

The location of this campground is amazing, if a trip to Napa Valley's wine country is on your bucket list.  The camp sites are okay, but road and access is narrow for many sites and the gravel pads aren't particularly level.  We stayed at site 049 which is a nice quiet spot away from the restrooms -but has trees, rocks, and bollards obstructing ability to cut the wheel and back in.  The restrooms were fairly clean and stocked with TP, but no soap or papertowels, so plan to bring those.  Also the park is prominently overtaken with poison oak... we knew what to look for and very cautiously avoided it, but it is everywhere, so if you're not familiar with poison oak, be warned.

Overall, an okay experience but I would not repeat at this location.

    Hidden gem

This is a rustic but charming campground in a beautiful location. I visited on a weeknight in June and almost all of the campsites were vacant. The grounds were impeccably clean and freshly mown, and the camp host, Bob, was very friendly and helpful.

All bathrooms are vault toilets, and there are no sinks available. Water spigots are located throughout the campground, though, and the bathrooms were clean and almost odorless.

Incidentally, the larger bathrooms also have unbelievable acoustics. A better venue for singing the Halo theme would be difficult to find.

    Former KOA; Rebranded & lacking

The Mendocino redwoods RV resort just outside of Willits on CA-20 to Fort Bragg, California, was 3 years ago a KOA resort. The overall facility is still in fairly good shape but you can see the results of the pandemic and a little bit lack of effort on maintaining various things with inside the facility. Not to get me wrong, it's still a very nice resort but the new affiliation that they've decided to go with needs to step it up a little bit otherwise it will go into disrepair and short order. After traveling recently to a very high-end KOA resort, I can assess and compare between the two locations very quickly. I think it is a very wonderful location with a lot of wonderful things to do and activities within an hour's drive of it, I just wish they would do a little bit more to start bring it up to the level that it once was.

    Awesome Site for Kids

Cabins are perfect. The location is surrounded by a lot of fun things to do. The site has 2 parks, trails, pool/hot tub, and so much more. You never have an opportunity to be bored even if you just stay at the camp grounds the entire time.

    Close to the lake

Decided to splurge and opted for a lakeside spot. Had neighbor on one side and grass on the other. Enjoyed a fire in the pit even though it was quite chilly out. Very pretty at night. In the morning, vehicles came in and parked right by us and used the picnic tables as though it was a public park. Not sure if that is the norm or just a fluke.

The womens shower was so-so clean but there was hair left in the drains and on the walls (ick). One shower in the mens bathroom had no hot water. Laundry room was clean and the machines worked well but the dryers cost .25 for three minutes! Maybe that's the norm around here. Could not get onto the Wi-Fi with the password provided.

Gave it three stars because the issues above but the view is very nice if you're on the water side. Just be aware that you are very close to your neighbors.
