A paradise for kids

We stayed in one of the premium hot tub sites, where you get your very own hot tub. Highly recommend, my kids absolutely loved it and so did I! We were just a few steps from the pool, which was clean, but pretty cold. It didn’t seem like it was heated. If it is, it’s not heated well. We also went to the playground several times, which is super fun. The splash pad was a family favorite. The petting zoo, was also super cute and the animals seemed like they were well taken care of. The mini golf course was a blast, as well as the RC track. There was a ton to do, and we all had a blast. The staff was super friendly.

Former KOA; Rebranded & lacking

The Mendocino redwoods RV resort just outside of Willits on CA-20 to Fort Bragg, California, was 3 years ago a KOA resort. The overall facility is still in fairly good shape but you can see the results of the pandemic and a little bit lack of effort on maintaining various things with inside the facility. Not to get me wrong, it's still a very nice resort but the new affiliation that they've decided to go with needs to step it up a little bit otherwise it will go into disrepair and short order. After traveling recently to a very high-end KOA resort, I can assess and compare between the two locations very quickly. I think it is a very wonderful location with a lot of wonderful things to do and activities within an hour's drive of it, I just wish they would do a little bit more to start bring it up to the level that it once was.

Great for families with little ones

We stopped here overnight on our way up the coast. Well maintained, nice facility and friendly staff. Definitely wouldn’t come back for long term camping as we have older teenagers. The facility is definitely geared toward families with smaller kids. It was great for what we needed.

Perfect!

Let's start with check in. As you know this is the beginning of your stay. It was late and we were tired but when I walked in and heard good evening, I knew we found a nice spot. We were checked in and drove into the park. Clean and festive. By the smiles on the faces of adults and children it looked like those that participated had a good time. My husband and I rented a small cabin for the night. It was clean and welcoming. We only stayed one night but will come back again and again. Look forward to using this app again.

Cool spot

Cool little camping spot outside of Willits. Has a western themed town that hold little dances and ice cream parlor parties for kids. This KOA also has a mini waterpark as well. We camped in a tent site and our number pole did have an outlet. Perfect place for glamping or kids!

great for family

the times weve stayed her have been pretty fun. there is a lot to do for small kids. the disc golf course offers beautiful views when on top of the course, but watch out for poison oak! my chief complaint was the raising of prices a few years ago to an absurd amount for camping. pretty nice if you can afford it.

Family Fun

Designed for families, this KOA a lot. A petting zoo, water play, pool. arcade and events. We were there for movie night. They had a big screen and showed a film for the kiddos. Good stopover.
