Great off-grid camping

This campground was nice. The camp host really did a great job of keeping things clean and nice. Some shady spots and a really great seasonal creek.

  • Quiet location. No road noise
  • well-maintained sites
  • seasonal creek -- and a nice little hike up the creek
  • cool "ghost town"…
  • view up from the creek
  • Seasonal creek

Nice place to stop for a week

This was a great stop over for a week. A little remote and you have to drive to the nearest town(s), but clean grounds and nice site. Very easy to book online.

The RV park is pretty large so it's a nice daily walk. We had an easy pull thru site with plenty of space for our RV and truck to fit…

Camping in the Park

Cute Campground situated right inside the regional park. There is a playground and large covered picnic area. First come first serve camping, decent sized spots with shade, fire pits, and water. Enough room to park your RV or tent, or both. Clean and quaint. Heads up there’s no cell service once…

Nice for tents but more for RV’s

There are two camping lots here, the Upper and the Lower campgrounds. Both seem to be more geared for RV use, the Upper lot is almost completely asphalt and pretty exposed to the sun. I wasn’t a fan. The Lower lot however has ample shade and there’s enough room at some sites to comfortably put a…

Beautiful remote equestrian campground

If you are looking for a campground with horseback riding opportunities, this is the campground for you. Remote, mountain location. Almost no cell coverage, no restaurants or services nearby.

Camp hosts are friendly and they enforce the rules which I like because it was quiet at night and nobody was taking over my space. However, it is not a campground it is a parking lot where you camp. Bathrooms are dirty, hot shower doesn't always work, ground was full of some gophers who were…

Some fun for all

Camp hosts were great. Valut toilets were in better shape. We went in June 2020 and it was hot. But there is a fun stream you can hike by and it did the trick. Nice and relaxing off the beaten path.

Good Times

This was our first time here. It is close to the 101 freeway, you can hear the traffic, but that didn’t bother us. Just be aware, it’s not a super quiet place. Campsites are concrete pads, level and have a decent area of grass between sites. Each site also has a fire pit. We went here in March ‘21…

Best memories ever

I've been going to carpentaria since I was 5 years old. It was always our family "end of the summer" camping trip. I've had so many amazing memories and traditions. We always get up early at low tide to collect sea shells and sand dollars and watch the sea lions sleep on the rocks. And everyone…

Off grid & peaceful

Reyes creek is beautiful! Great camping spots, beautiful creeks & hikes, cute abandoned town for a photo opp and awesome camp host. We ended up in group site 1 due to Covid they can’t have big groups and it was spacious and great for our doggos to have a big area. There are 3 neighborhood dogs…

Filthy, broken mess

The sites are just parking spaces with picnic tables. Very little greenery or shade. The restrooms and showers were out of order, and they had a single portapotty for our entire half of the campground. Everything was in serious disrepair and dirty.

Piedra Blanca- Great for large groups

Nice large open area under a tree. Has a fire pit with grate. Large rocks nearby -fun to sit on. Stumps for sitting around the campfire too. Nearby stream- clean water - can hear from tent. You’ll likely not have privacy though it seems like lots of people come here to camp out.

Great Camp

Me and my gf came to Carpinteria for our first car camping experience. We paid extra to stay on the beach front spots near the south side of the site. Was totally worth it. We had a great time with amazing views. The beachfront spots didn’t have fire pits though so we ran to the local grocery store…
