Several RV parks near Monrovia provide full hookup options for motorhomes and travel trailers. Rancho Jurupa RV Park in Riverside offers year-round access with electric hookups, water connections, and a sanitary dump station, accommodating big rigs with pull-through sites. Bonelli Bluffs in San Dimas features 50-amp electrical service, water and sewer hookups, with sites spacious enough for larger RVs and slideouts. Thousand Trails Soledad Canyon in Acton maintains year-round availability with full hookup sites including 50-amp service, while Fairplex RV Park in Pomona provides concrete pads with complete utility connections. "Very spacious and good for big rigs. Sites are easy to navigate and pull into, especially for a first timer."

Between mountain views and urban convenience, RV travelers should note varying site configurations across these parks. Concrete pads predominate at some locations while others feature gravel or asphalt surfaces that may require leveling blocks. Cell service varies significantly, with stronger signals at parks closer to urban areas and potential dead zones in canyon locations. According to one visitor at Thousand Trails Soledad Canyon, "Check with the office on any outages. They did have to turn off the water for one day and sewer for about four as they are doing sewer upgrades." Most parks accommodate pets with designated walking areas, though additional fees may apply. Propane refill services are available at select locations, with Soledad Canyon offering propane at $2.99 per gallon. Reservation requirements become particularly important during peak travel seasons.

Anaheim RV Park - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Disney Camping - Clean, Pool, Very Nice Restrooms/Showers

Anaheim RV Resort is close to Disney and is on the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus route. They have full hook up sites and room for large rigs - back-in and pull through. They are very pet friendly and even have a dog walking/feeding service (for an extra fee). There is a small pool and hot tub. The restrooms/showers and newly remodeled and very nice! Sites are all level and fairly large. We've stayed here 4 times and will be back again!

      Hidden Gem

I loved this place, this hidden gem is located in the in the middle of the city, with the feel of the outdoor. Lots of trees, biking and hiking trails, fishing area, beautiful views, very peaceful, family friendly, pet friendly, the C9 RV spot was very spacious, I also liked the A & B area. Not every site has a fire pit. Definitely coming back again.

      Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground

      Bolsa Chica State Beach

The 4 stars is primarily for location. This is essentially a parking lot with power and water. We had a beach front space (B035) with a decent sized palm tree. The only one I really saw. The spaces aren’t huge so if you have a big rig or large trailer it will be tight. Most trailers parked their tow vehicle perpendicular to the space and some barely fit. There is no privacy, the small concrete area is shared with your neighbors as is the entrance to the beach side. People watching at the boardwalk is amazing. There is live music at the beach bars nearby which was cool. Definitely bring bike. There isn’t a lot within walking distance but downtown Huntington Beach and the pier is just a couple miles away.

      Waterfront RV Park

      Great place by the beach

Your not on the beach but literally on the other side of pacific coast highway you are there. They have smaller options for travel trailers with power hook ups only and pull through and back in sites available with full hook ups. They have a great pool, maintained laundry rooms bathrooms and showers separated by men and woman for that privacy you need. Overall an incredible rv park and very impressed by it being well kept and clean. Not to mention close to the beach

Mountain Lakes Resort - Membership Campground

      Great family friendly place

My wife and I have been coming up here for years. We used to use her parents fifth wheel or use a cabin but recently purchased our own travel trailer. Now we come up here with our kids and I can’t say enough about how family friendly it is.

      Ronald W. Caspers Wilderness Park

One of the Best County Parks you will find

This is a great park in Southern Orange County. I have tent camped here for years with my kids in the Live Oak campground and never had a bad experience. There are hiking trails everywhere with lots of wildlife to watch. I switched to a travel trailer several years ago and now use Ortega Flats campground. The sites are big and well spaced, with 30 amp electric. The water is off for the time being. The dump station is very close by and easy to access.

      Bonita Ranch Campground

      Just ok overall

Needed somewhere fairly close to home to take my new to us motorhome. Sites were decent size but fairly close together so don’t expect a lot of privacy. Sites interspersed among long term residents. Hookups water and electric at each site. Some shade, trails to riverbed currently mostly dry and Bonita falls about 25 minute walk over river rock. Fire rings available to rent for $5. The biggest issue I had was our electric went out to our loop at about 7:30pm…luckily we are self contained…it still had not been restored when we left the next day at noonish. The lights to the office area and restrooms was still on (thankfully) but not the camp sites.

    Guide to Monrovia

Family camping options near Monrovia, California range from mountain retreats to urban convenience. Monrovia sits at the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains with elevations ranging from 500-800 feet in town and rising to over 5,000 feet in nearby camping areas. Summer temperatures typically range from 65-95°F, while winter camping requires preparation for nighttime temperatures that can drop below 40°F in the mountains.

    What to do

Hiking trails access: Canyon RV Park in Anaheim offers trails and wildlife viewing right from the campground. "Beautiful views all around Sunrise, Sunset and Night sky. Sights of all kinds of birds like hawks and herons," notes camper Xochiquetzal G. at Rancho Jurupa Park.

Water activities: The Bonita Ranch Campground provides creek access for cooling off. According to Sara H., "You're literally a box throw away from the creek if you're not really big on hiking but enjoy the scenery this would probably be a good way for you to experience the outdoors in the creek... you could definitely enjoy the ice cold water on a really super hot day."

Family entertainment: Rancho Jurupa RV Park includes kid-focused amenities beyond standard campground features. "Splash pad, park, mini golf great amenities," states Marcella D. The water park is particularly valuable during summer months when temperatures regularly exceed 90°F.

    What campers like

Urban convenience: Golden Shore RV Resort provides access to Long Beach attractions within walking distance. "The RV spots were very nice. This park is close to the action in Long Beach. Easily walkable or there are always E bikes and scooters to rent right outside the gate," explains Dave K.

Family-friendly atmosphere: Campgrounds near Monrovia often cater to families with children. Michele N. reports that Rancho Jurupa Park has "Great family campground. Fishing and a splash water park. This place has two campgrounds. Cottonwood and Lakeside. Cottonwood is the nicest of the two."

Natural setting despite urban location: Canyon RV Park creates a nature experience in an urban environment. "I have been here for a few months and I love it here. It's not only in the middle of a nature preserve but you're also in the middle of a City," shares Kerry L.

Site differences: At Fairplex RV Park, campers recommend considering site location carefully.
