Last Minute camping

So we were typically boondockers but when the recent forest closures took effect we felt like nowhere to go. Luckily, Sequoia and Kings NP is open. So drove there from San Diego. It was a 6 hour drive. We went to the cisitors center per park rangers advice to get a decent phone signal and we were…

High in the Sky

This campground sits above 9000 ft and you can drive there, park your car next to your site. It is a great basecamp for day hikes up into to higher altitude. There are multiple lakes a short hike away and waterfalls on 3 sides, its a beautiful place with peaks souring towards 14,000 ft.

Classic Camping

What I love about Hume is the classic vibe. There is a little burger/shake shack by a lake with recreational activities. The weather is nice and elevation provides beautiful star gazing.

Great Swimming Hole

This campground is sort if basic. It is very close to town as its the first campground in the Sequoia Park. The swimming hole is unmatched, complete with rope swing. Very accessible and even bear sightings. Trails and lots of shade.

Bring your friends, everyone else does

A party place in mid august. Lots of louder groups that were up late into the night.

Site 84 was technically approved for a trailer over 10 feet, but a serious squeeze to get our trailer and explorer to fit within the lines.

Some restrooms were closed, and the open ones were very crowded at…

Beautiful. Reservations required during peak months

My family stayed here over Memorial Day weekend. We have a 32 foot travel trailer. During peak months, reservations were required (opens one month in advance).  There's a threaded water spigot attached to the bathroom toward the front of the campground.  The others weren't threaded for a hose. It…

Nice view of pine flat lake

Fairly close to Kings canyon NP. Campsites are a bit close to other campers/RVers, but overall, a nice site.

Decent Campground, Close to Sequoia NP

We stayed at Sequoia RV Ranch this past weekend with high expectations, based on the stellar reviews.  The campground is fine, but not five stars.  As others have noted, this campground is close to the entrance of Sequoia NP and close to the town of Three Rivers which has a few restaurants and…

Crowded and super noisy

This campsite is very close to the Sequoia foothill visitor center which is nice but it also means it’s at a much lower elevation than the rest of the park. It is HOT in the summer and it’s not super shaded. This campsite is really crowded. There were tons of very large noisy groups so if you are…

  • Site 7 - It is on the edge of the campground. There’s a hill to the east so you get shade until about 10am and then you get roasted the rest of the day.

Decent Spot to Camp on your way into the Sequioas National Park

There’s a river all the kids love to play in. Water moves slowly but it’s not necessarily ‘clean’ although none of the kids mind. Pool is a little murky but full of people. There’s a resident teenage bear named Horse that comes around and they also warn you about snakes. We had a few issues with…

Pretty cool campsite

It has bathroom, shower, fire ring and a picnic table with shade. Got a little T mobile signal. Need to check in with the ranger when arrive.

Very relaxing

Rangers were very nice, it was clean and they have pretty good showers. We were very late to check-in but had no problems getting in. One of the boat launch ramps was right there in the camp ground and the other was really close at lake view. Water was really low but still had a blast on my kayak…

Only during the cooler months

This is a great campground during the cooler months in spring but I would not recommend it for summer time as it gets way too hot.

It is very close to Lake career which is great for water sports and boating activities and some really good fishing.

Nice and cool in the summer

I like lodgepole campground for the summer because elevation is high enough it does not get too warm and Hume lake is a short drive to some great trout fishing.
