Great Spot!

Easy to find, quiet, peaceful spot! Only one other camper but still so much room to spare.

Plenty of Spots

I took a left turn on a forest road and parked on a boulder. It's a solid, peaceful place.

Good place to camp for free

There is very limited space but definitely recommend if there is enough spots. Nice quiet spot right outside the park!

Rally nice spot on the Sequoia National forest

Nice big camp spot in the Sequoia National Forest, the road was really calm mid-April, we had no car during the night. The spot has firepits, a camping table and loads of bushes. The view is nice on the forest or a mountain top. We were alone but the spot is big enough for 3 or 4 véhicules, the access is just before the U turn.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the rules and regulations for dispersed camping on Ten Mile Road?

Dispersed camping at Ten Mile Road follows standard Forest Service regulations. Campers must practice Leave No Trace principles and properly dispose of waste. The area appears to operate on a first-come, first-served basis with no formal reservation system. Fire regulations apply, so only use existing fire pits and follow any seasonal fire restrictions. Always check with Sequoia National Forest officials for current regulations, especially regarding fire bans during dry seasons, and obtain any necessary permits before your visit.

Where is Ten Mile Road dispersed camping located in Sequoia National Forest?

FS Road 13s09 Dispersed Camp - Ten Mile Road is located within Sequoia National Forest, just outside Kings Canyon National Park. The camping area sits alongside Ten Mile Road (Forest Service Road 13s09), providing a peaceful forested setting with views of mountain tops. This dispersed camping spot serves as a convenient base for exploring both Sequoia National Forest and the nearby national park while enjoying a more secluded camping experience away from developed campgrounds.

Is Ten Mile Road accessible for RVs and larger vehicles?

Ten Mile Road can accommodate some larger vehicles, but with limitations. The area has space for 3-4 vehicles at the dispersed camping spots. While the road appears navigable for modest-sized RVs during good weather conditions, it's primarily suited for smaller to medium-sized vehicles. The terrain includes some boulders and unpaved surfaces that might challenge very large RVs or trailers. For optimal access, smaller vehicles or moderate-sized campers would have the easiest time navigating and finding suitable parking at this dispersed camping area.

What amenities or facilities are available at Ten Mile Road dispersed camping area?

Ten Mile Road dispersed camping offers minimal amenities in true dispersed camping fashion. The site features basic fire pits and at least one camping table. No water, toilets, or trash services are available, so campers need to be fully self-sufficient and pack out all waste. The area is surrounded by bushes and forest, providing natural privacy. The spacious camping area can accommodate multiple vehicles while still maintaining a sense of seclusion. This is an ideal spot for those seeking a quiet, primitive camping experience close to nature without developed facilities.
