Expensive

I had planned to stay at the KOA near Sequoia as we had been there before.  But I didn't anticipate that we were going to be arriving on Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, and waited too long to make my reservation and the KOA was full.

I started searchingi for something else close to Sequoia and found Lemon Cove.  They were charging $117 for Sunday and $107 for Monday.

I could not find anything else available and read the good reviews, so I went ahead and made the reservation.

I have NEVER paid that much for an RV spot, and was not happy about it.  I thought it must be a really spectacular park.  It was not!

We were traveling from Bakersfield which is only about an hour and a half away.  Lemon Cove has a 3PM check in time.  I have never been to a park that has a 3PM check in time.  This is not a hotel.  The office was closed from 1-2, so we waited for it to open.

When they opened it up, she said that she was not going to charge us the $25 early check in fee.  Which I thought was absurd to begin with.  She said she was feeling generous.

The spot we had was very uneven & the sewer is pretty much on an uphill slant from the trailer, which was an issue for dumping.

Being Memorial Day weekend the park was full.  There was a huge group there (which don't get me wrong I have no issue with families camping together and having fun) and it was very noisy and crowded.

I would not have felt bad about paying for this ridiculously overpriced park if it had been a really nice resort type park.  But it most definitely is NOT.

This was just price gouging at its best.

Nice getaway with clean facilities

Pull through sites made setting up super easy. Place was quite and clean. Not much for extra activities on site, but they did have a clubhouse. Great spot to stop if you are headed to Sequoia National Park. I would stay here again.

Great place to stay if visiting Sequoia National Park

Nice drive thru RV’s sites. Friendly Staff and good staff especially Jennifer. Very nice dog park, not a lot grass but good running area for dogs.

Location less than 30minutes from the National Forest entrance. We got up early on the road @645 am to the park was back by 11am. Only went as far General Sherman.

Only negative point was pool was closed for cleaning. Just bad timing

Nothing like the pics. No green grass in sight.

Sadly, the park was dry and desolate. It is evident that the owners are scraping by to either keep this park open or just too cheap to water the grass. There is no green grass in sight, except at the office. Therefore you will be camping on gravel surrounded by dirt. Extremely unlevel sites. You will need to use every leveling block you own. Come prepared, you will not find toilet paper, paper hand towels or hand soap if you visit the restrooms!

Their website lists the Sequoia Shuttle picks up on site from Mat to September. At check in you will notice a sign in front of the registration office indicating "Shuttle stops here!" However, no Shuttle is running and we were quite surprised. (Yosemite Shuttles are all in service so Sequoia Shuttles were expected especially with the website marketing and signage onsite)

My family and I stayed at Lemon Cove Village over the weekend and had the most amazing time! The camp ground was clean and well kept. They had a really nice dog park. Management was super helpful. We can't wait to go back again soon!

Pull thru sites

Love the pull thru sites. We have a 34 foot 5th wheel and it was easy to get into these spots. Some spots don't have full hookups so look before you book your spot. All these pictures I took are in full hook up areas. When we checked in we got a mug and candy which was nice. The lady that checked us in was really nice and helpful. It was nice just to get away and camp anywhere. The rec room has a pool table and games, coffee, popcorn. They also have military discounts here.

Nice Park, Well Kept Could use some updates

Nice park, well kept, friendly staff. As you will see from the photos this is an old KOA. RV spaces are all pull through, and spaced well and are pretty level. Electrical is updated and spaces have okay water pressure. Has laundry and pool as well

Restrooms and showers are clean but need updating.

There is no cable tv hook ups and Wifi is available but it’s really worthless can’t connect once you are away from the office. Verizon Wireless is 2 bars of LTE works okay....

Lots of great tent spots with shade, water and 110v outlets

It appears that they are trying to make this a nicer place. (Note: my 3 star rating is for lack of cable and wifi) Which should have for $50 a night. Otherwise, I would give 5 stars. Would stay again though.....
