Best Campgrounds near White Hall, AR

Camping areas near White Hall, Arkansas range from waterfront sites on the Arkansas River to full-service developed campgrounds in state parks. Pine Bluff and the surrounding region host several Corps of Engineers sites like Tar Camp and Rising Star, which primarily accommodate tent and RV campers with water and electric hookups. Within 30 miles, Lake Catherine State Park offers more diverse accommodation options including cabins, yurts, and tent sites alongside traditional RV camping. Many riverside campgrounds feature waterfront access, concrete pads, and basic amenities like picnic tables and fire rings, though site privacy varies considerably across locations.

Seasonal considerations affect camping experiences throughout the region, with many Corps of Engineers sites operating on a limited schedule from March through October. Summer heat and humidity can be significant factors for tent campers, while mosquitoes near waterfront sites require preparation. Most developed campgrounds in the area provide electric hookups to run fans or air conditioning, which proves essential during warmer months. Water levels on the Arkansas River can fluctuate seasonally, affecting the shoreline at riverfront campgrounds. Reservations are recommended for weekend stays, particularly at popular sites like Maumelle Park and Lake Catherine State Park. A camper described Willow Beach as "small, remote, and quiet. Situated between the Arkansas River and Willow Lake, every site is waterfront. Showers and bathrooms were clean and in good condition."

The Arkansas River dominates the camping experience in much of the region, with several reviewers highlighting the river views as a key attraction. At Maumelle Park, located about 40 miles north of White Hall, campers appreciate the panoramic river views and wildlife watching opportunities. "Maumelle Park is our getaway go-to spot for quiet rest. Beautiful panorama view of the Arkansas river," noted one visitor. Many campgrounds in the area serve as convenient bases for exploring Hot Springs National Park, located approximately 30 miles west of White Hall. While most developed campgrounds provide restrooms with flush toilets, shower availability varies by location. Cell phone coverage is generally reliable throughout the area, even at more remote sites. RV campers should note that not all campgrounds offer sewer hookups, though dump stations are typically available.

    H&G RV campground

    Total hookups close to I40

Gary. Met me as I arrived in the park, guided me to my spot and even helped connect the water while I hooked up electric and waste. Stayed 2 nights , lucky that my Tmobile hotspot allowed me to work, stream, Zoom on my rest day.

    Tar Camp

    Not much to say

The park itself is beautiful other the the volunteer camps at the gate house they both have so much junk piled up around them and the one has a dirty old schoolly not that I have anything against schoollys but this one is dirty. They evacuated the park due to high water while we were there and we never receive the phone call or a text The only way we knew is I got a notification from the bank will they refunding those our money back.we where out and about when it happened we get back they had everything locked up and where gone now I grew up a commercial fisherman fishing the Arkansas river and took it back up after I retired from the army and have lived next to the Arkansas White and Chache river all but the 20 years I gone to the army so I know the river. The water never broke flood stage nor came close to it. So there was zero reason to evaluate us. But that being said we should have been notified

    Downtown Riverside RV Park

    In town on the river

I clean and pleasant place to stay in town along the river. It was quiet and there were loads of things to do. All the spots had large concrete pads.

    Willow Beach

    Pretty little campground

This is a pretty campground with huge trees for shade. The sites are extremely level! I didn’t even need to level my pop-up camper!! The water hyacinths were in full bloom while we were here and are beautiful!! I will be coming back next year!

    Maumelle Park

Surrounded by lots of giant RVs

We got lucky with our spot, only 1 direct neighbor. Beautiful view of the Arkansas River. Busy park. Nearest toilet house was far away though.
