    Downtown Riverside RV Park

    Unique RV Experience

At first entrance it appears as if you are entering a large parking lot. There is a large pavilion to picnic and pet area by the water. Each site requires a 50 amp but the office will offer one for purchase if you need a 50 to 30 amp connections. The center lot is for pull through sites the other site areas non-pull through by water and fence. The fence area is close to the bridge but could be limited with views since it is far away from the water and Class A frequent area.

    Two things I love:

    1. The unique downtown riverside views
    2. The ease of getting to this RV park even though it is downtown Little Rock.

    H&G RV campground

    We really liked it!

An overnight stop on our route. Gary was great, most helpful and it was a pleasure talking with him. This is a rather small campsite and I recommend advanced reservations. Two pull through sites that do not have sewer hookups but there is a dump station if needed. Electrical hookups are 50 amp so have an adapter if you need 30 amp service. I’d certainly recommend it.

    Downtown Riverside RV Park

Parking lot but close to downtown.

Talk about great location in a great town. We usually do not like camping in cities this big but wanted to come here to visit the William J. Clinton Presidential Library. And what a great location this park is to downtown Little Rock and the library. There is a pedestrian bridge that takes you over the Arkansas River to downtown and all the attractions; as well as, some great restaurants and a vibrant downtown.

This campground is essentially a parking lot.  There is no shade and our air conditioners ran non-stop since we were there in July.  There is a grassy area in front along the river that is a common area for you to enjoy the night sky. The riverfront is beautiful at night with the downtown lit up at night. Sites include 50 amp electric, water and sewer. There is also a dump station and WiFi. Some of the riverfront sites have been upgrades to concrete pads and some sites are pull-thru sites. The restrooms were clean and washers and dryers are on-site. The park takes any kind of RV from pop-up to Class A but does not accept tents. The price we paid was definitely reasonable at$22/night(with tax) but they also offer numerous discounts.

Downtown Little Rock is a great town with plenty to do, see, and eat. The great things about this park are that it is convenient to the interstate and a great price. For the location, you would expect to pay a lot more. We loved walking to town at night and enjoying the restaurants and breweries that bring the downtown to life. The weekly farmers market was a highlight and the Presidential Library is not to be missed.

    Pendleton Bend

    Nice people, basic facilities

I stopped here for one night with a travel trailer and was in site B-01 for $16. The sites are spacious. For example, the water hookups are half way between the sites to be shared, and my 50ft hose just barely could reach. It is pet friendly and we had fun sitting on a dock and watching the cargo boats. There is absolutely no cell phone signal and no WiFi, so have physical directions on you. The park is only a couple miles from Arkansas Post National Memorial which was very beautiful and worth a visit.

    Maumelle Park

    Beautiful campground

This campground is beautiful, well maintained and has clean facilities for showering and restrooms. There are several dump stations which are convenient and maneuvering into your space is very easy. Each site has a picnic table, fire pit and grill. The Rangers were very helpful and provided all the information we needed for a wonderful weekend.

    Maumelle Park

    Nice campground near Pinnacle Mountain

Maumelle Park is a nice campground located on the Arkansas River. They have some water front sites and several in wooded areas. The campsites are a little close together and there aren't as many trees as we typically like for privacy and hanging hammocks, but it is a nice park. They have several day use areas, a few playgrounds, and basketball courts. We stayed at site B23, which was just okay. The restroom facilities are nice. They had 2 dump stations. They do not have designated tent pads, but do have a fire ring and picnic table at each site. The campground is very close to riding trails and Pinnacle Mountain which is a fun area to hike.

Guide to Pine Bluff

Pine Bluff's riverside campgrounds sit at approximately 220 feet above sea level along the Arkansas River floodplain. The area experiences hot, humid summers with temperatures regularly exceeding 90°F and mild winters with occasional freezing temperatures. Most campgrounds in the region operate seasonally with closures during winter months, though Willow Beach remains open year-round.

What to do

Wildlife viewing opportunities: At Willow Beach, campers can observe river wildlife including pelicans during certain seasons. "Lots of wildlife-squirrels everywhere," notes one visitor about Saracen Trace RV Park, while another Willow Beach camper mentions "The water hyacinths were in full bloom while we were here and are beautiful!!"

Fishing access: Rising Star campground provides boat ramp access ($5 fee) for Arkansas River fishing. "Wonderful small campground on the river. Spacious spots. Spots in the woods and on the river. Playground and boat ramp," reports a camper. Some sites report seeing barges travel along the river, part of the McClellan-Kerr navigation system.

Historic exploration: The Pine Bluff area offers access to historical sites. From Saracen Trace RV Park, one reviewer notes it's "Close enough to Pine Bluff yet far enough away to enjoy nature and silence" while being near historic Pine Bluff sites.

What campers like

Riverfront views: Many campers appreciate Tar Camp's location directly on the Arkansas River. "So happy to find a site right on the river. We could watch the tug boats with their barges go by," mentions one reviewer. Another notes Tar Camp offers "Great place nice sites good fishing."

Clean facilities: Several Pine Bluff area campgrounds maintain well-kept facilities. At Rising Star, a visitor reports, "The bathrooms were immaculate and the campground was very well maintained." Another camper specifically mentioned, "I HAVE NEVER SEEN A CLEANER BATHROOM!!! BATHROOM/SHOWER COMBO FOR 1 PERSON OR FAMILY!!!"

Spacious sites: Campers frequently comment on the generous site sizes at Pine Bluff rv parks. One Willow Beach visitor notes, "Spacious camps. Flat pad," while another mentions, "The sites are extremely level! I didn't even need to level my pop-up camper!!" Rising Star receives similar praise: "We had site 15 which was at the end of the park and had a beautiful, large site with plenty of privacy."

What you should know

Insect preparation: Arkansas River proximity means significant mosquito activity, especially in summer. A Willow Beach camper advised: "It is near water so there are a lot of mosquitos, so come prepared." Another noted "Lots of bugs due to being near the river."

Wildlife awareness: Campers should be alert for wildlife, particularly snakes. One Willow Beach visitor reported: "We encountered lots of snakes. I shooed a few off the road and they disappeared as soon as they slithered into the grass, so to me it's pretty risky walking around or letting kids play in the grass."

Site selection considerations: Choose sites based on shade preferences and river proximity. One camper at Rising Star recommended "Super peaceful, quiet...shady sites or sunny, whatever you prefer. Some on the water sites, but others aren't far off."

Hookup limitations: Most rv parks near Pine Bluff offer water and electric hookups but limited sewer connections. For Saracen Trace RV Park, a camper reported: "Water and electricity available but no sewer although there is a dump station."
