    Red River RV Park

    Nice clean, small RV park

Nice clean, small RV park at Highway 67/167 and CW Road in Judsonia, one exit north of the Searcy Race Street exit. 30 spaces total with 3 pull through sites. No internet or laundry on-site but the electrical set up is good. Water and sewer are in good locations but the water connection box was holding water during our stay. Daily, weekly, or monthly rates available. My Verizon LTE hotspot averaged between 5 and 10 Mbps down and 0.8 to 1.6 up. My Verizon 5g phone averaged 75 to 85 Mbps down and 28 to 35 Mbps up. One of my neighbors was on a T-mobile 5g hotspot and was consistently over 50 Mbps download.

    Dam Site Campground

    Very nice and clean

We stayed 3 nights over a weekend in early September. We had a pull through site in loop N that was perfect for our 41’ fifth wheel...plenty big, clean, and level. It was a little sunny, but other than that no complaints. The other loops were more wooded, but wouldn’t be good for big rigs. We will definitely come again.

    Downtown Riverside RV Park

    Unique RV Experience

At first entrance it appears as if you are entering a large parking lot. There is a large pavilion to picnic and pet area by the water. Each site requires a 50 amp but the office will offer one for purchase if you need a 50 to 30 amp connections. The center lot is for pull through sites the other site areas non-pull through by water and fence. The fence area is close to the bridge but could be limited with views since it is far away from the water and Class A frequent area.

    Two things I love:

    1. The unique downtown riverside views
    2. The ease of getting to this RV park even though it is downtown Little Rock.

    H&G RV campground

    We really liked it!

An overnight stop on our route. Gary was great, most helpful and it was a pleasure talking with him. This is a rather small campsite and I recommend advanced reservations. Two pull through sites that do not have sewer hookups but there is a dump station if needed. Electrical hookups are 50 amp so have an adapter if you need 30 amp service. I’d certainly recommend it.

    Downtown Riverside RV Park

Parking lot but close to downtown.

Talk about great location in a great town. We usually do not like camping in cities this big but wanted to come here to visit the William J. Clinton Presidential Library. And what a great location this park is to downtown Little Rock and the library. There is a pedestrian bridge that takes you over the Arkansas River to downtown and all the attractions; as well as, some great restaurants and a vibrant downtown.

This campground is essentially a parking lot.  There is no shade and our air conditioners ran non-stop since we were there in July.  There is a grassy area in front along the river that is a common area for you to enjoy the night sky. The riverfront is beautiful at night with the downtown lit up at night. Sites include 50 amp electric, water and sewer. There is also a dump station and WiFi. Some of the riverfront sites have been upgrades to concrete pads and some sites are pull-thru sites. The restrooms were clean and washers and dryers are on-site. The park takes any kind of RV from pop-up to Class A but does not accept tents. The price we paid was definitely reasonable at$22/night(with tax) but they also offer numerous discounts.

Downtown Little Rock is a great town with plenty to do, see, and eat. The great things about this park are that it is convenient to the interstate and a great price. For the location, you would expect to pay a lot more. We loved walking to town at night and enjoying the restaurants and breweries that bring the downtown to life. The weekly farmers market was a highlight and the Presidential Library is not to be missed.

Greers Ferry Dam Site is one of several around the lake created by the Greers Ferry Dam which created the 40,000 acre lake.  The dam was dedicated by John F Kennedy one month prior to his death.

Be aware that many of the sites might be hard to back into or hard to level your rig.  The area is thickly wooded and that might make it difficult.  There are a lot of large moss covered rocks that help to set the scene for  wooded wonderland for tents and smaller rigs.  Check your site before parking this park like many of the Corp of Engineer parks are older and built with tent and small RV's in mind.  It is a beautiful site and in Arkansas you must try the fishing

Directions:  3 miles northeast of Heber Springs, AR by way of SR 25 Bypass.

Choctaw is located several miles outside the town of Clinton Arkansas.  I would advise stocking up before leaving home or in Clinton.  Located in the gently rolling hills of the Ozarks.  The roads are in good shape but like most roads in Arkansas they could be considered, not narrow, but not exactly wide.  The campground is located right off the road so watch for your turn.  Choctaw is one of the few parks in the Greers Ferry complex that is right off the main road.

The site numbers are well marked on the entrance of each site.  Some sites are more level than others and some are shorter than others.  Longer rigs will have to pay close attention to the size of the sites.  Area is well wooded giving a large amount of shade and a lot of needles and leaves.  If you don't carry a good broom you might want one to sweep your pad.  Trees are mainly pine so shade will continue through winter.  While we were there it was time for mowing but generally COE parks are well maintained

Little Red River and the Greers Ferry Lake produce an amazing outdoor experience.  Sitting all along the banks of Greers Ferry Lake you are able to have your pick of any number of COE campgrounds and private campgrounds.  Choctaw is a good example.

Arkansas is called "The Natural State" and it does live up to its name.  Greers Ferry is located in Cleburne County Arkansas with several small towns dotted around the lake.  There are between 30,000 to 40,000 acres of crystal clear water depending on the season and the rains.  You may fish, scuba dive, water ski, SUP, kayak, canoe, swim or just relax at your campsite.  Your choice but is geared toward the outdoor life.

Fishing is the sport of the day here.  You will find some of "The Best" fishing in the south with some bragging "In The World".  The lake holds the record for bass at 27 lbs 50 oz.  Tournaments begin in April and go through October.  Whether you are a local or a visitor fishing is done year round.  Every game fish native to Arkansas is stocked and maintained by the Arkansas Game and Fish.  Depending on the time of the year you are able to look forward to trophy size striped bass, walleye, and trout.  That is not to say you shouldn't hook your share of channel catfish, bigmouth and white bass and crappie.

    Have fun.  Stay safe.

The area sits at approximately 300 feet elevation in the Arkansas River Valley region with mild winters and hot, humid summers. What to do

Riverside fishing opportunities: Willow Beach Campground offers direct access to the Arkansas River with spacious waterfront sites. "Beautiful campsite along the Arkansas River. The sites are all very spacious with very long back in driveways. Some of the sites had covered picnic tables, which was great," notes Kelly E.

Urban exploration via footbridge: Downtown Riverside RV Park provides easy access to Little Rock's cultural attractions. "You can walk across the bridge to the Clinton Library. Good pavilion space for hosting events," says Kevin A. Another camper mentions, "There is a pedestrian bridge that takes you over the Arkansas River to downtown and all the attractions; as well as, some great restaurants and a vibrant downtown."

What campers like

Spacious, level sites: Willow Beach receives high marks for its well-maintained camping areas. "The sites are extremely level! I didn't even need to level my pop-up camper!!" reports Jo E. Another reviewer mentions, "Campground located on the river with beautiful scenic views. Covered picnic table and tall fire ring. Spacious camps. Flat pad."

Clean facilities: Sweet Escape RV Resort maintains exceptional standards according to visitors. "The bathrooms are the cleanest that i have seen in a campground/RV park they clean them daily," states one reviewer. Another adds, "Very friendly campground. Many amenities including laundry, bathhouse, very nice showers, and large dog park."

What you should know

Weather impacts: Low-lying campgrounds in the region experience drainage issues after rain. At Willow Beach, a camper notes, "Campground is low and will be soggy after rain." Plan accordingly during wet seasons.

Wildlife encounters: Local campgrounds host native wildlife including snakes. "We encountered lots of snakes. I shooed a few off the road and they disappeared as soon as they slithered into the grass, so to me it's pretty risky walking around," warns a reviewer at Willow Beach.

Insect preparation: Waterfront camping requires bug protection. "It is near water so there are a lot of mosquitos, so come prepared," advises a camper at Tar Camp. Another visitor mentions, "Lots of bugs due to being near the river" as one of the downsides.

Tips for camping with families

Recreation amenities: The fishing ponds at Sweet Escape RV Resort provide family entertainment. "We really enjoyed the fishing ponds as well. The owners could not have been nicer and more helpful," reports one visitor.

Playground availability: Check playground status before booking. At Willow Beach, a camper noted, "Nice playground but it was taped off during our stay due to covid."

Security features: H&G RV Campground offers a quiet, secure environment for families. "Its quiet, safe, and Gary is so nice. It's in the country and close to 40 but you don't get the traffic noise," observes Debbie M.

Tips from RVers

Overnight convenience: H&G RV Campground serves well for transit stops. "Traveling across country on I-40, found this camp ground on the DYRT app. Close to Interstate, Love's station at exit. Has full hookup 50/30Amp, water and sewer. Gravel pads and well maintained," says Rod A.

Personal service: Small RV parks often provide exceptional personal attention. "Gary met me as I arrived in the park, guided me to my spot and even helped connect the water while I hooked up electric and waste," shares a camper at H&G RV Campground.

Connection options: Cell service quality varies by provider. At Red River RV Park, "My Verizon LTE hotspot averaged between 5 and 10 Mbps down and 0.8 to 1.6 up. My Verizon 5g phone averaged 75 to 85 Mbps down and 28 to 35 Mbps up. One of my neighbors was on a T-mobile 5g hotspot and was consistently over 50 Mbps download."
