TravelerYou definitely could hear the interstate but was still very secluded, clean, a little swampy (only in the water), but I place for us to stay the night. Bug spray was needed, but what do you expect it's the woods. I'm pretty sure Bigfoot might hang out, lol.
GuideI clean and pleasant place to stay in town along the river. It was quiet and there were loads of things to do. All the spots had large concrete pads.
TravelerWe got in late and just needed a place to rest. There was a whole lot of standing water and lots of mosquitoes! On the map, it looks like it is right off the highway, but there is no direct route - it is about 10 miles or so off the exit.
GuideThis is a pretty campground with huge trees for shade. The sites are extremely level! I didn’t even need to level my pop-up camper!! The water hyacinths were in full bloom while we were here and are beautiful!! I will be coming back next year!

This park has so much going for it. It is clean, small, handicap accessible....great hiking with short and long options, a pour-off waterfall during the wet season when the lake is high, biking options. You can rent paddle boats and kayaks for the small but beautiful lake that is known for fishing. The visitor's center has nice restrooms, local author's books and art, and is well-stocked in emergency supplies, treats, a water fountain, and friendly staff. I live close by and opt for this park when I need to get away from the hustle and bustle for a while. This park is small enough to avoid the typical state park crowds and still enjoy all the outdoor sights, sounds and activites you are looking for.
ScoutI woke up a 11am to someone driving in then 12:30am then at 1:30 a loud truck came in slinging rocks and a guy was screaming out the window. So I was packed up and was out by 2am.
