Great spot!

Stayed two nights and was a great area. Ended up getting a spot near the main road but overall was very quite. Insane views and just a unique area. Empire Ranch had potable water to fill up and there are a ton of vineyards within 20 minutes. Was super windy one day but definitely coming back.

Peaceful and beautiful

If you are looking for a place that is easy to get in and out of as well as peaceful and remote, this is it! There’s a few other campers here, but lost of space between sites so we can never hear them. Great space to walk the dogs around here. It’s gets a little windy at times and the cows can make…

Amazing campground!

Exceeded expectations!! A moderate 4.6 mile hike after 16 miles on a dirt road. The hike up is BEAUTIFUL and not overly steep (but watch for snakes). The campground was great. We were the only ones there and used site 3. It was very secluded and had a nice big bear box and a nice fire ring. I would…

Great Place to Stay

There is a good mix of long term residents and travelers here. Good, clean safe place to stay with our son and two dogs. My son LOVED the swimming pool. Not a fancy resort, but a very kind, homey environment. I would stay here again.

Tranquility

We spent two nights at this amazing campsite. This campground offers 7 official and several unofficial sites that are scattered to assure privacy. Campground is primitive with no toilets or water so come prepared. Gorgeous 360 views of nearby mountains. Easy road access for low clearance vehicle…

Peaceful

Stayed 5 nights, very peaceful, approx. 7 sites at Cieneguita CG, others at Oak Tree Canyon (not a real canyon) and the old Airstrip area. Clean vault toilets at the ranch house parking and potable water, approx. 2.3 miles from campsite. Other small pullout spots along some of the side ranch roads.…

Would definitely return

I came here maybe 4 yrs ago. I wasn’t a big hiker but I was young and in good shape. It was so hot and the trail was a little confusing at times. Not many people so if you’re looking for some good exercise and solitude this is for you. Passed a couple on the way up and only one other camp site…

Very quiet

Level gravel sites and pleasant oleander trees throughout the area. Sites are clean. Laundry, showers and bathrooms are clean. Nice big pool. They also sell propane.

Totally solid campsite, free so the price is right!

I pulled in pretty late at night, so wasn't sure what to expect. Nice big campsites, not a lot of privacy though. Almost all of them have mesquite trees with lots of dead branches that you are allowed to collect for firewood, which is super helpful!

This is an old cattle ranch, so it's pretty…

Perfect tent camping spot

This sky island campground in Mt Lemmon is perfect for a quick weekend getaway from Tucson. The weather here is 10-15 degrees cooler than the city. This campground is small, with tent sites tucked away between pine trees. A vaulted bathroom is at the center of the parking lot.

A real Arizona gem of a dispersed camp spot

This area is also called Empire Ranch. The ranch is 44,000 acres boastes lots of wildlife elk, antelope, coyotes, kangaroo rats, and roadrunners. The ranch house can be toured along with several bunkhouse and barns. Several western movies have been shot on the ranch and lots of the scenery looks…

Beautiful Creek Certain Times of the Month

Open only during the late fall, winter, and early spring. Can get crowded. Nearby is the Molino creek which flows only immediately after heavy rainfall or snow.
