Very well maitained! But don’t think “camping” think RV resort gorgeous pools and you can rent pontoon boats. Spots are very close together but everyone is friendly
This place is small but has a lot to offer. They have RV hookups and putt putt golf. They offer cabin rentals and a lake “beach” for swimming and paddle boat rentals. I usually come here to grill out for family events and to do some fishing. Not a bad little place to visit.
This campground is set up mostly for people who either want a long term space for their RV or to stay in a yurt for a couple of nights. The whole place is set up to have easy access to the water and it does this really well. There are multiple docks and plenty of spaces to tie up your boat. Additionally, the lake is really enormous so you can be out on the water all day. Don't expect a lot of privacy or space when staying here but it is perfect if you want a long term place to stay and access the water without having to pay the high prices for a house in the nearby area.
If you need a place to stay for the night, Scenic Drive RV Park is a good option. That said, this is not a quaint or charming camping experience.
It is a large parking lot with level sites, all hook-ups, clean bathrooms, hot showers and a pleasant host. There are no attractions you can walk to. There is no place to go without a car. You are perched close to the highway. The host, Max, is quite pleasant and takes good care of the property.
This is a really great place to rock climb! They have RV hookups, tent camping and primitive camping! I reccomend to try and camp under an overhang! It's just really cool. There's also a really easy climb to overlook Weiss Lake! We were literally among the clouds! The park also offers a bath house which was very clean and even heated in the winter! There is a really nice park and pavillion with picnic tables too that the kids played in and we had lunch!
This is a great campground that has ONLY long term camping so you really get to know your neighbors. The power is not included but the prices are very reasonable.
Our lot is spacious, gravel pad with a cement patio.
Flat paved spot to park RV for home base while fishing/boating. No bath house, Full hook-up's though. Functions perfectly. Restaurant at marina and marina/store great. Staff courteous and helpful. Will be here again when fishing and boating.
The view is fantastic if you are lakeside- but it stops there. Most rentals are along one row and a couple of the lakeside sites. Sites are very unleveled with minimal gravel but almost all have a 6x9 concrete pad. No pool, no fire rings, spotty wifi and frequent brown outs on power. Both shower points smell horrible but appear clean otherwise. Lots of long-term vehicles. People are friendly and pets are welcome.
This was a fantastic campground! We stayed in the Upper Improved Campground and it was absolutely wonderful! The sites were large and well spaced out. We had a large pull-thru site with full hook-ups and a lovely firepit setting above where we parked our trailer.
Be sure and take the trails to the lookouts. The hikes were short but so scenic. We hiked both to Pulpit's Rock and to Bald Rock. The views were magnificent.
I can't wait to return!
Just got home from a great weekend at LTP. Sites are nice we were at site 11 pull thru with full hook up. Splash park was fun and clean for the kids as well as really nice walking trails we enjoyed.
This is a really nice RV park that provides close access to the racetrack. It is wonderfully taken care of and has recently been renovated. They have a playground and several covered areas for picnics and group gatherings. A key bonus to this site is the pool which is very necessary when camping in Alabama in the summer. Overall, I would definitely suggest checking this campground out as an option if you are headed to a race and coming for the weekend.
Overall: A
The Good: the site connections were all available, even in late December. The upper loop road for the small campers was super clean and quiet. The bathhouse was a pleasant surprise. They were spacious, warm and clean.
The Not So Great: the site location, while close to the interstate was via some smaller mostly residential streets. The back loop road appeared to be where the long term rentals were located and was much more cluttered and less presentable.
No Assessment: there were several other amenities that we didn’t have the opportunity to use that appeared nice, clean, and accessible.
Nice big spaced out spots, that offer full hook ups. Friendly staff, good hiking trails, creeks for kids to play in. Pull through and back in paved sites. They also offer tent sites.
Cons - have to call to book, weekend campers destroyed bathhouses, and lack of cleaning crew
Stayed here one night while traveling west from SC to Texas.
Host was very nice and drove by to check on things once I was setup. Pad was level with full hook ups.
Facilities looked well kept but I didnt really get a chance to explore much.
This is great as a stopover - very close to highway 20 and multiple gas stations. I'm not a big Nascar guy, but its literally right next to Talledega Speedway, so ideal for racedays as well.
This was a very clean park with paved loop and sites. It had nice grassy areas and swing set and bike and walking trails. Full hook ups are available. Campground host wasn't very friendly and seemed annoyed we did not have a reservation even though there were plenty of sites open.
Good cell reception with AT&T and Verizon.
This is a smaller park, but the sites are spread out well. Super quiet, lots of trails to follow - including paved ones (bonus for us as we have a baby in a stroller), full hook ups (w,e,s), and has a splash park during the summer time. We will be returning quite a bit since it’s close to home.
We've stayed here numerous times over the past two years as full-time RVrs. They have two small lakes with a swim/picnic area on larger lake. Fishing and non-motor boating on both. There are paved and non-paved walking paths. Two+ bathroom/
shower areas and an inexpensive 1 washer, 1 dryer laundry. They are currently working on an additional camping area with full hook-ups.
Stayed at site 13, level gravel sites with picnic table on concrete pad, fire ring, FHU. Extended stays at the back of park and closer to hwy 20. There is a nice dog park, playground, covered pavilion, laundry room, dated bathroom, but clean. Shirley reserved our spot, and helped us pull through, and hook up, with our new RV! There is a little path/bridge, so We walked over to Camping World to get our bigger RV. The next morning, we had a few questions, so the Camping World service employee, came over (on a golf cart)to answer them. We decided to stay another night, and it was easy enough for Shirley to extend our reservation. If we were in the area again we would go back. There is a lot to do in the area….Talladega National Forest, Talladega SuperSpeedway and Cheaha State Park.T-Mobile was good, and paid about $30 night with Good Sam Discount. This Campground is also known as CWGS Campground of Oxford.
The Cove is right off of I-59 at Attalla with easy on and easy off access. The negatives are when it rains the roads are a mess. The internet service is less than desirable unless you are close to the access point. The view of the lake is beautiful if you are on a site that pulls up to the lake. There is a half sunk boat that floats around the lake and although I think it’s funny, my wife is a little spooked by it! The camp host is less than a host and more of traffic cops. The only correspondence we had with them was driving above the unposted speed limit and reclaiming my jack boards after leaving for three day weekend away and leaving the boards in our prepaid spot for the month. I am not a fan of the camp host. If you are looking for an easy over night stopping point The Cove is a great place. If a long term place to stay is what you are looking for then maybe look on down the road.
Great RV park that is owned and ran by the county. We stayed in the horse camp section because the RV area was full. They use the horse camp area as overflow. Plenty of space there with power and water. Sewer hookup is only available in the RV section. Tons of walking/horse trails to go along with a creek and a couple of lakes.
This is a small rv park located in Boaz Al, its just down the street from the Boaz police station so its nice and quiet. They don't have a lot of amenities like pools, or playgrounds but its great if you just need a cheap place to stay. As of this review its $20 a night for either a 30 or a 50 amp hookup along with water and sewer. The monthly rates are $400 for 30 amp sites and $500 for 50 amp sites.
Very well maintained RV park. Store and gas station on site
Cheaha State Park is located south of I-20 close to Oxford& Anniston, Alabama. Its in one of the highest areas of the state and the towing incline to get there proves it. If your truck is struggling to tow your camper, this might not be the place for you.
We were here over Easter weekend during the COVID-19 shut down. I was surprised by the number of campers over the weekend with some even tent camping. This park has it all. Nice sites with full hook-ups. What looked like a clean, new bath house, although I didn't use it. Lots of hiking trails, some of which are strenuous. And talk about the scenery! You really are rewarded with stunning cliff side panorama views of the area.
If you're not into camping, this park also has multiple cottages for rent that looked really nice. There is also a lodge, restaurant, and a swimming pool with a view. Many things were closed due to the virus, but it looks like it is a great place when things are open. Since it's a short drive from the Atlanta area, I know we'll be back.
Great RV park, new owners are awesome! Close to Talladega Super Speedway, Talladega National Forest and so much more!
Safe Harbor RV Park was convenient and perfect for an overnight stay. Spaces are long and level. No extras, no picnic tables, no shower houses, however everyone was friendly, and we had no issues with the water/sewer/electric. Wifi and internet weren't great, but we were tired and not interested in watching TV anyway. Some road noise but it didn't keep us awake. Seems to be lots and lots of permanent residents there and just a few travelers coming and going. We'd stay here again if we're passing through. The owner at check-in recommended The Ark restaurant to us, which is within walking distance. We ate there and it was delicious. We appreciated the recommendation.
The area was beautiful, the amenities were nice (pool is very nice and the view from it is amazing, bathhouse is one side showers one side toilets), hiking trails were varying in difficulty (so for those that need stroller/wheelchair accessible there is one for you and those who like a challenge and rugged terrain, you’re covered too). We haven’t tried the restaurant yet, as due to covid19, is take out only, but I looked through and the view is amazing overlooking the valley.
As far as the campsites, full hook up, some capable of bigger rigs, but mainly smaller (<30’). A lot of them are connected and we don’t really like that since we have 4 kids, we like privacy and to give those around us some quiet, some are fairly level on gravel (they do have a couple concrete for handicap). Our particular camp host could use a couple lessons in humbleness/communication/kindness.
Cell reception is very good, however there is only one cell tower so it is on the slower side for browsing the internet/streaming (if you telework, my husband wasn’t able to do that this trip, he took vacation time) - this is with t-mobile/sprint (Verizon doesn’t get anything). Tv reception is pretty good, we got about 20 channels.
Cane Creek RV park is one of my favorite campgrounds. Small, quiet, great customer service. The owner really cares and is a heck of a nice guy. If you’re looking for a quiet hideaway, you’ve found it. Enjoy!
