CWGS Campground of Oxford

Accessible year-round via Highway 20, CWGS Campground of Oxford provides full-hookup sites for RVs up to 72 feet in a convenient roadside location. The gravel sites accommodate pull-through access with concrete picnic table pads and fire rings, though campers should expect highway noise from the nearby interstate. Staff assistance with hookups and site navigation helps newcomers settle in quickly.

The campground features practical amenities including a laundry room, locked bathrooms with hot showers, and a dog park for pet owners. WiFi coverage proves inconsistent across the property, while T-Mobile cellular service works reliably. Extended-stay sites occupy the back section, positioned farther from Highway 20's traffic sounds. A small bridge connects the property directly to the adjacent Camping World store.

Rates run approximately $30 per night with Good Sam discounts available. E. M. notes "there is some excellent hiking nearby," with Talladega National Forest, Talladega SuperSpeedway, and Cheaha State Park all within driving distance. The location serves overnight travelers well, with restaurants and a Publix grocery store in the immediate area.

Reservations can be made in advance, and same-day extensions are typically accommodated based on availability. The setup works particularly well for one-night stops or longer stays requiring full utilities and easy road access.

Large pull-through sites with full hookups and friendly staff were highlights for this convenient interstate stop. Highway noise from the nearby interstate was consistently noted by visitors.

Camped here with RV purchase

Stayed at site 13, level gravel sites with picnic table on concrete pad, fire ring, FHU. Extended stays at the back of park and closer to hwy 20. There is a nice dog park, playground, covered pavilion, laundry room, dated bathroom, but clean. Shirley reserved our spot, and helped us pull through, and hook up, with our new RV! There is a little path/bridge, so We walked over to Camping World to get our bigger RV. The next morning, we had a few questions, so the Camping World service employee, came over (on a golf cart)to answer them. We decided to stay another night, and it was easy enough for Shirley to extend our reservation. If we were in the area again we would go back. There is a lot to do in the area….Talladega National Forest, Talladega SuperSpeedway and Cheaha State Park.T-Mobile was good, and paid about $30 night with Good Sam Discount. This Campground is also known as CWGS Campground of Oxford.

Gander RV Campground

This was a quick stop on our trip West. We only stayed one night but they have full hookups and are all pull through sites. There is laundry on the premises and a locked bathroom with hot showers. The staff was friendly. They offer Wi-Fi but it is patchy. There is a lot of highway noise. Not a bad place for a one-night stay. Oh and there is some excellent hiking nearby.

Pretty Good Overnight Stop

Easy to find. Right off the interstate, (close your windows,) super helpful & friendly host. Large Drive-thru sites with full hookups. Nice after a long day driving. Lots of restaurants nearby, well, if we can go to restaurants yet. There’s a Publix here, too. Highway noise😟
