We are staying here for several months as we just sold our house and will be traveling FT. Rusty and the entire team have been great to work with! The RV park is great with all the trees - they are adding another 70 sites in the back with a ton of new amenities! Washer/dryer available for $2 per load!! Only a few minutes to Guntersville and the lake! You can walk the lake, go grab a bite to eat or go down to City Harbor! We camped at Georgia Mountain RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
This RV park is right on a lake, but a bit away from anything else. If you have any sort of boat, kayak, paddle board, bring it! There is hiking about an hour away at the Bankhead National Forest.
You can pick your spot when you arrive. I like that.
A and B sections are the original sections. C section is brand new with 50 amps hookup. All the big rigs there.
I was on C74 with a great backyard overlooking the hills.
Bathhouse is brand new and squeaky clean. You can see that almost no-one uses the campground shower because one of them doesn’t have a curtain to separate your dry clothes from the water. And neither of them have a caddy or any spot where you can put your soap.
Pool was not open when I was here in April which was a shame. It was hot enough. I would have enjoyed a swim, especially so we there is not much else to do. I don’t have a boat yet. 🙁
A decent Thousand Trails campground.
I had no reception with Verizon but my AT&T hotspot had good reception.
One of, the best, if not the best Thousand Trails Park’s where we have stayed. An out of the way location, but nice spots on a huge lake.
Very small rv park next to attraction. Easy to get to off the road. Full hookups with bath and laundry. Does have separate dump site to.
This is a nice off the interstate travel park. Full hook ups. Pull through sights plenty long enough for our 40+ ft. motorhome with tow vehicle. Pull in at night out in the morning. Simple and not fancy. But fits the bill when needing a place with electricity and dump and fill water!
We chose a primitive site. They are well carved out back away from the road. There were plenty of spots available, both primitive and RV hookups. We didn't stay long enough to try out the bath houses, so I can't attest to those. The park looked like it is regularly visited and you can reserve sites online more than a day in advance.
We arrived one day early which was semi planned, but we were not in the spot we were staying for 11 days. Thank goodness because the pic on the site Vs reality was a pretty big difference. We have a big rig and no way we would fit. I figured I would have to finagle something in my own to get us a different site. NOPE! They guy at the gate helped us out and 5 min later we had a site! Store has a few things in it, including some Lake stickers/shirts/etc with Lake Guntersville on them. There is a little library box by the store with books people have put in after reading. There are sites for full hookup, water/electric, or primitive. There are long term sites as well. There is plenty to do! Beach, boat, water pad, basketball and tennis courts. Laundry available. Nice bathrooms and bathhouse. Dog park for bigs and Littles! The power went out once for a couple minutes and then again due to an accident on the mountain. There are neat things within the park to see and do. Hike/trails, golf, fish, zip line, horseback riding. A must stop is to see the donkeys, goats and emus. Towing to get here is interesting, but doable! We have a 42 ft RV with a 16 ft boat behind and we made it. Close enough to town but you have to go over the mountain. There are some neat stores down town and a farmers market.
This campsite had beautiful waterfront lots but many of the interior sites were full of long term RVs who have personalized their lots to the extreme. I felt it detracted from a gorgeous location.
My kids did love the beach front entrance that was built for lake access and swimming. The camp store was well supplied. The staff was also great!
This campground is not our favorite. We have stopped coming here because there are so many long term campers there making the place look run down and unkempt.
This place is tight. Not in the Urban Dictionary meaning of tight, but in the actual meaning of tight. It's hard to tell if there are more trees or RVs on the property. It appears that many of the RVs there are long-term, permanent residents; wood porches, lots of yard items, etc. The roads to the site was hard to navigate due to the amount of vehicles parked along the roads. However, the sites were great angles and easy to maneuver into and out of. One nice perk about the park was the trash pick-up three times per day. Nice not to have to trek to the dumpster throughout the day.
We have visited off and on for years. This was our second bad experience. The long term campers are rude to teenagers when adults aren’t present. Then we “incurred” fees. Management will not return a call and you can only leave messages. Very sad that new ownership has led to this.
fantastic! what a beautiful, large site! full hook ups! simply beautiful! definitely going back!
Quiet country setting, clean park, friendly staff. Gravel level full hook up 30 and 50 ampsites. Pond with ducks, bossy goose and horses. Great place to stay for the night or longer. 2 miles off I-65 exit 310. Close to restaurants and shopping.
Some tight spots, but the water park is only a bicycle ride away. There is a six mile walking/ biking trail along the Tennesse river. The golf course is at the campground entrance. There are special events for Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day. Long term camping has been voted out and I believe the new time limit is 2 weeks.
You must have access to military base to use. They have Laundry. Showers and bath. Full hook up. No trees for shade. Very hot. Needs mowed and more cleaning.
GPS took us in a very rural way with lots of twisty roads. One there we found an open spot on our own since it was a holiday the office was closed. Full hook ups and a fairly level grass pad. Not bad for an overnight. There are tons of thing to do here especially if you like to fish!
Joe wheeler state park is an awesome campground! Most sites are on the water with full hook ups! All sites are spacious! Hiking trails all around with water access everywhere! Will definitely be back!
Monte Sano State Park offers: 21 Primitive(tent only) campsites, 59 Water& Electric sites, and 15 Full- Hook-Up sites. Monte Sano sits on 2,140 acres with spectacular vistas from atop the mountain, especially when the fall leaves show off their colors. In the spring, native azaleas bloom along the 20 miles of hiking trails and 14 miles of biking trails. Quite campground. Great Camp Hosts, very friendly and helpful ranger staff. This is the best kept secret in North Alabama. Lots of activities within just 20 miles from campground. Beautiful views and trails(from easy to advanced). Biking trails are awesome. Every site has it all. https://youtu.be/I\_84tyldNNw
Basically there are two sections to this park. The newer section is very big rig orientated. Having been rebuilt due to hurricane, wide roomy sites well spaced, but not a tree in site. All sites both old & new are full hook up. The older section is very, very tight and not a one very level. The older section is fully treed, which makes things even tighter.
Good ATT & Verizon cell service. No wifi in campgrounds Not my first choice, bu it worked.

We stayed here in May 2019. It was very enjoyable. Full hook-ups. Bath house clean and functioned normal. Sites really don't have water views on even on the water that we saw. They have boat ramps and docks/slips. Tons of deer in the park. Drive slow dusk to dawn. We ate at the lodge and it was just average. Lake is beautiful and fishing is great. Nice cleaning station also. We will go back in the future. Also has golf course but I did not play. Sites are level and easy to back into.
No amenities open, nice spacing between sites. Water, power and sewer. Nice and clean bath houses with laundry facilities. Small store with tons of r.v. parts. Restaurant on site with golf carts driving thru campground offering snacks. Vendors selling pork rinds that were delicious. Also small farmers market with outstanding selection.
The bad. We had to leave a day early, they will not give refunds. We were there 4 nites, paid for 5. Not real friendly staff. People there long term just let dogs roam and poop wherever although strict guidelines say you must clean up, they don't. They also don't mow the grass before you get there or clean up the sites. People on weeknights are loud and until 2 a.m. we could not get to sleep. Security finally came through and shortly after it was quiet.
It was our first time here and it was really nice. Very clean and they were clearly doing extra cleaning due to covid. The staff is friendly and store prices are reasonable. They keep a good eye on the place, but we didnt find it intrusive. There are a lot of full time spots, so there's golf cart traffic. They are limited on full hook ups, but the bath house is nice and clean. The showers are individual rooms with locking door which is really nice for security, but they are limited in number. The grounds are well kept. It's mostly sloped or water front so not a lot of space for outdoor rec unless it corn hole or just throwing a ball. Water and location are beautiful.
We were stopping in Cullman County to be with family. Since we were driving through with our RV, we stayed at Smith Lake for the evening. It was ok. The pool was nice. The lake is always nice, but the camping area itself feels like more of a trailer park than RV Park. It looked like the majority of the campers there were for the long haul.
The park itself is fine but these are the tiniest campsites I've ever seen in a State Park, worse than an RV park even. When I am at the back of my camper cooking, I am literally 2 feet from the campers in the next site sitting at their picnic table having dinner. It is beyond awkward. Zero privacy and sites are about 10 feet wide with no space/buffer between sites. It's essentially just a parking lot with hook ups.
This is a small rv park located in Boaz Al, its just down the street from the Boaz police station so its nice and quiet. They don't have a lot of amenities like pools, or playgrounds but its great if you just need a cheap place to stay. As of this review its $20 a night for either a 30 or a 50 amp hookup along with water and sewer. The monthly rates are $400 for 30 amp sites and $500 for 50 amp sites.
Love everything about this RV park!
