Bama RV Station in Tuscaloosa offers big-rig friendly sites with 50 amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections on level gravel pads. Sunset RV in Cottondale features full hookup sites with 30/50 amp service, though sites are arranged in a parking lot style with minimal spacing between units. One reviewer noted, "Definitely just a no frills parking lot with full hookups. No trees, no playground, no pool, no picnic table, no fire ring." First-come, first-served policies exist at some locations like Peach Park RV Park, while others require advance reservations, especially during football season and other local events.

      Kountry Air RV Park

      Clean quiet campground

We have stayed here many times when were on the road heading  out for the summer.  We had full hook up, a picnic table & there is a small clean restroom near the pool if needed along with a laundry room & place to sit inside if it's hot out.  They have DVD's and some books we trade them where were there. We only stay a night & stay hooked up to the truck. The owners Gigi & her husband work hard to keep the gardens beautiful, the campground maintained & the pool is so clean & refreshing.  You can get propane here.

We've stayed 3 different time & had a nice site towards the back with a garden on the side.

It's off the beaten path a little but well worth it.

      Bama RV Station

      Good For Quick Overnight Stay

Literally right off the interstate at Tuscaloosa. Much lower noise level than I expected. Definitely a parking lot, without trees. We are in site 9, pretty level gravel site, electric and water hookup only. 2 dump stations are available, 2 dog parks. 30 dollars a night. Mostly long term parking. No firepits or picnic tables. Check in by phone, no office.

      Deerlick Creek

      Awesome little campground

Nice level concrete pads with awesome shade. Bath house stayed clean. Nice 1/2 mile asphalt bike/walking trail. Hiking trail with hills and valleys skirting the lake. Boat ramp with easy access to the lake. Convenient access to Tuscaloosa for supplies, eating or just a change of scenery. Some site are smaller than others and some are pull through. Highly recommend.

      Gunter Hill Campground

      Great Times

      Great time at Gunter Hill

Gunter Hill Corps of Engineers Campground We stayed 2 nights at Site 27 Full hookups (50 amp electric/water/sewer) $35/night Site #27. is a very long, back-in site, on a level concrete pad, very shady and secluded. The driveway is very long. The Catoma Creek is visible and a short walk just to the rear of this site, affording me quick and easy access to get to a bit of fishing.

The campground is just on the west side of Montgomery, a short drive off of the interstate, far enough away to offer plenty of peace and quiet. We enjoyed lots of walks around the park, getting familiar with the campground while exploring the Catoma loop and the more rustic, electric-only Antioc loop. We were able to put our kayaks in easily as well. The restrooms were slightly dated and dark. No trash pick up, but cans available nearby.

The campground served as a good base to explore nearby Montgomery and it’s suburbs.

      Cherokee Campground

More of a Long Term Living Area

Most of the pads were filled with long-term residents. The owners were very nice. The rate was reasonable. Our gravel pad was not wide enough to be a) level and b) slide/awning out at the same time. The electric hook-up was at the opposite end of the pad from the water and sewer hook-ups. Some neighbors were friendly, others were a bit suspicious of us as interlopers based on how many times they walked past our area. Overall, would only stay again in a pinch.

      Oak Mountain State Park Campground

      Updates please

At the regular campground, there’s only 30amp connections. Some have sewer and some not. There is no camp wifi. Swimming is quit a distance from campground.

The campground at the stables are pull through and 50 amp and full hookups.

      Sunset RV

      Bright light and road noise

Stopped for an overnight on our way home to Atlanta from a trip out west. Not much of a park. Most sites are long term or semi permanent. Only 6 available for regular RV. Water, 30/50 amp electric & sewer There is a small laundry room The office wasn’t open but we had reservations and had received an email about our site and directions. WiFi was poor. It is right off of I-20 so there was lots of road noise all night. There was a very bright vapor light above our site that lit up the whole area. There is a small dog walking area.

      Oak Mountain State Park Campground

      Great Campground Near I-65

lots of trails. Upgraded sites, new bathhouse, pet friendly, full hook up at some sites. It’s site A09 the site sloped downward, which caused the trailers sewer connection to be lower than the dump site. As far enough away from the interstate that you don’t hear the road noise you’re surrounded by woods and hills. Will stay here again.

Accessibility from Interstate: Many campers appreciate quick access from major highways. At Sunset RV, a reviewer stated, "Stayed for one night. Well maintained, level sites. What you should know

Limited amenities at some parks: Several parks provide only basic facilities. One camper at Sunset RV noted, "Gravel spots with a concrete slab in front. Definitely just a no frills parking lot with full hookups. No trees, no playground, no pool, no picnic table, no fire ring."

Seasonal demand fluctuations: Football games and events impact availability. Ask about seasonal pool access: Some parks offer swimming during warmer months. A Kountry Air visitor shared, "The owners Gigi & her husband work hard to keep the gardens beautiful, the campground maintained & the pool is so clean & refreshing."

Check road access routes: Some parks have preferred access routes. Regarding Kountry Air RV Park, one RVer advised, "When we made reservations, we were told to only take exit 179 off I-65 and follow the GPS directions, as any other way will take you on narrow roads, including gravel roads."

Consider site placement for hookups: Utility placement varies between parks. One RVer at Kountry Air noted, "The utilities are in the middle of the pad. We were able to position so we could get to both black tanks with a 10' sewer hose."

Ask about pull-through availability: For those towing vehicles, pull-through sites can be convenient. A Rolling Hills camper shared, "We had a pull through spot so we didn't have to disconnect our tow dolly."
