    Kountry Air RV Park

    Clean quiet campground

We have stayed here many times when were on the road heading  out for the summer.  We had full hook up, a picnic table & there is a small clean restroom near the pool if needed along with a laundry room & place to sit inside if it's hot out.  They have DVD's and some books we trade them where were there. We only stay a night & stay hooked up to the truck. The owners Gigi & her husband work hard to keep the gardens beautiful, the campground maintained & the pool is so clean & refreshing.  You can get propane here.

We've stayed 3 different time & had a nice site towards the back with a garden on the side.

It's off the beaten path a little but well worth it.

    Bama RV Station

    Good For Quick Overnight Stay

Literally right off the interstate at Tuscaloosa. Much lower noise level than I expected. Definitely a parking lot, without trees. We are in site 9, pretty level gravel site, electric and water hookup only. 2 dump stations are available, 2 dog parks. 30 dollars a night. Mostly long term parking. No firepits or picnic tables. Check in by phone, no office.

    Deerlick Creek

    Awesome little campground

Nice level concrete pads with awesome shade. Bath house stayed clean. Nice 1/2 mile asphalt bike/walking trail. Hiking trail with hills and valleys skirting the lake. Boat ramp with easy access to the lake. Convenient access to Tuscaloosa for supplies, eating or just a change of scenery. Some site are smaller than others and some are pull through. Highly recommend.

Lakeside Landing RV Park & Marina

    One and done

The view is fantastic if you are lakeside- but it stops there. Most rentals are along one row and a couple of the lakeside sites. Sites are very unleveled with minimal gravel but almost all have a 6x9 concrete pad. No pool, no fire rings, spotty wifi and frequent brown outs on power. Both shower points smell horrible but appear clean otherwise. Lots of long-term vehicles. People are friendly and pets are welcome.

    Gunter Hill Campground

    Great Times

    Great time at Gunter Hill

Gunter Hill Corps of Engineers Campground We stayed 2 nights at Site 27 Full hookups (50 amp electric/water/sewer) $35/night Site #27. is a very long, back-in site, on a level concrete pad, very shady and secluded. The driveway is very long. The Catoma Creek is visible and a short walk just to the rear of this site, affording me quick and easy access to get to a bit of fishing.

The campground is just on the west side of Montgomery, a short drive off of the interstate, far enough away to offer plenty of peace and quiet. We enjoyed lots of walks around the park, getting familiar with the campground while exploring the Catoma loop and the more rustic, electric-only Antioc loop. We were able to put our kayaks in easily as well. The restrooms were slightly dated and dark. No trash pick up, but cans available nearby.

The campground served as a good base to explore nearby Montgomery and it’s suburbs.

    Gunter Hill Campground

    We love Gunter Hill!

We are local (30ish miles) but love to just escape here when we have 3 or 4 days and don't want to travel long distance.  Perfect spot to be closer to the river in the summer and in the woods in the fall.  Catoma loop sites are full hookup with concrete pads including both back in and pull through options.  Antioch Loop does not have sewer hookup and these sites are gravel lots but offer some amazing water views.

    Cherokee Campground

More of a Long Term Living Area

Most of the pads were filled with long-term residents. The owners were very nice. The rate was reasonable. Our gravel pad was not wide enough to be a) level and b) slide/awning out at the same time. The electric hook-up was at the opposite end of the pad from the water and sewer hook-ups. Some neighbors were friendly, others were a bit suspicious of us as interlopers based on how many times they walked past our area. Overall, would only stay again in a pinch.

Long term camping with a family atmosphere

Our lot is spacious, gravel pad with a cement patio.

Guide to Columbiana

RV parks near Columbiana, Alabama provide convenient access to Logan Martin Lake and Lay Lake, two popular water recreation destinations in central Alabama. Most campgrounds in this region sit between 400-600 feet elevation with summer temperatures regularly exceeding 90°F from June through September. Cell service varies significantly between campgrounds, with Verizon typically offering the strongest coverage across the area.

What to do

Fishing access year-round: Lakeside Landing RV Park & Marina offers direct boat access to Logan Martin Lake. "Very well maintained RV park. Store and gas station on site," notes one visitor, making it convenient for anglers to refuel both vehicles and gear without leaving the grounds.

Casino entertainment nearby: Wind Creek Atmore Casino RV Park provides more than just camping options. "Costs $37 a night, and includes free game play at the casino. Paved sites with 50Amp FHU," reports one camper. The casino complex includes bowling, an arcade, and movie theater within walking distance.

Sports complex activities: Hoover Met Complex RV Park connects directly to sports facilities. "Easy to navigate in and out of each site. In addition to the Hoover Met sports complex and sports arena there is a new brewery within walking distance of the campground," mentions one visitor. The campground includes a playground and climbing area that remain open to campers.

What campers like

Concrete camping pads: Safe Harbor RV Park offers level sites with full hookups directly facing the water. "The sites have full hookups. The lake is right in front of the RV. The people that work here are very very nice," reports one camper who stayed twice at this location.

Convenient overnight stops: Peach Park RV Park provides simple but functional facilities for travelers passing through. "Great campground for overnight stay. 30/50 amp hook-up, water, sewer, concrete pads, playground, separate picnic area, easy back-in spots," notes a visitor who paid $35 for their stay.

Privacy between sites: Rolling Hills RV Park offers camping with more separation than typical RV parks. "There's quite a bit of space between most of the sites (particularly the back in sites)," reports a visitor who appreciated the level gravel sites despite the hilly terrain.

What you should know

Limited bathroom facilities: Some campgrounds like Peach Park RV Park have no showers or restroom facilities, requiring self-contained RVs. While many parks offer full hookups, bathroom amenities vary widely between locations.

Reservation policies vary: Most parks require advance booking during peak season, but some like Peach Park operate on first-come, first-served basis with no reservations accepted. "We came in late & paid in the AM at Peach Park Express $35 for overnight stay," notes one camper about the check-in process.

Site leveling challenges: Even paved sites may require leveling equipment. "While they are paved sites, we found that you do have to level out still by around 3 inches," reports a visitor at Wind Creek Atmore Casino RV Park, despite the campground having concrete pads.

Seasonal considerations: Summer humidity makes shade a premium commodity at most RV parks Columbiana, Alabama and surrounding areas. "Not much shade. We were there in late February so it was ok. Would be hot in summer," notes a camper at Wind Creek.

Tips for camping with families

Water recreation options: Clear Creek Cove RV Resort offers multiple docks and convenient lake access. "The whole place is set up to have easy access to the water and it does this really well. There are multiple docks and plenty of spaces to tie up your boat," reports one visitor.

Playground facilities: Birmingham South RV Park includes a pool and play areas for children. "They had no contact check in. The pool was open and they had a nice play area for the kids," shares a visitor who used the park as an overnight stop.

Dining recommendations: Local restaurants near campgrounds provide family-friendly options. "The owner at check-in recommended The Ark restaurant to us, which is within walking distance. We ate there and it was delicious," notes a camper at Safe Harbor RV Park.

Tips from RVers

Overnight parking alternatives: Some locations offer free overnight options. "The casino has an actual full RV park here as well, but they also allow overnight parking in the RV day parking area, or even in the regular car parking lot if you prefer," shares a visitor at Wind Creek Atmore Casino about this money-saving option.

Pull-through accessibility: Several campgrounds accommodate RVs without disconnecting tow vehicles. "We had a pull through spot so we didn't have to disconnect our tow dolly," notes a visitor at Rolling Hills RV Park, making it ideal for overnight stopovers.

Utility reliability considerations: Power stability can be an issue at some locations. "No pool, no fire rings, spotty wifi and frequent brown outs on power," reports a Lakeside Landing visitor, suggesting backup power options may be prudent at certain campgrounds.
