Sena X1 Smart Helmet

We got to test out the Sena X1 smart helmets at Interbike this year.

For years, Sena has been the leading innovator in Motorcycle helmet technology. Their bluetooth enabled helmets can connect to other riders, pair with GPS navigation, and provide surround sound for riders of all genres. With so much success in the Motorcycle sphere, they decided to take their skills to cycling, and we’re pretty excited about it.

The X1 Cycling smart helmet allows the rider to connect to five other users within a one-mile radius. That means seamless communication, and no longer having to worry about how to tell your speed demon friends you’ll be stopping at the 7-11 for a slurpee. More than easy communication, the helmet pairs to your phone for GPS navigation. While you’re listening to smooth jazz or heavy metal, Siri can pop in at every turn to make sure you get where you’re going without any major hang-ups. With essential surround sound, you don’t have to worry about canceling out noise that as a cyclist, you need to hear. Like the whizzing sound of a flat tire, or the car creeping up a little too close to your back tire.

If you’re looking for a total upgrade, the X1 Pro Bluetooth and QHD Video has an integrated camera to capture your commute, the sunset, or puppies (because you can never have enough of those.) Three easy buttons control volume, answering calls, and talking to Siri. One of the coolest features is its ability to connect wirelessly to fitness apps. Updates from your ride are provided throughout so you can stay on track to hit your goals.
