When the fire dies down, camping lights are the best way to navigate your campsite.

But camping lights have come a long way. Recent technology has taken lights and camping lanterns well beyond the headlamp or the single-bulb lantern.

We got to check out some of the latest designs at this year’s Outdoor Retailer Winter Market 2017.

While there are many lights in the world, we want to share these 3 new camping lights with you.

The ENO Eclipse Lantern from Eagles Nest Outfitters (a.k.a. ENO)

Camping lights can do more than just light up your site, and ENO’s Eclipse is a perfect example of that.

The ENO Eclipse light has a number of different settings, each for a different campsite environment. Whether it’s hanging from the top of your tent or sitting on the ground next to your kid or lighting up the picnic table, you have a setting on the Eclipse that’s just right for the setting.

The multi-color mode is great for a mellow tent party of calming the nerves of a first-time camper.

Use the bright white mode to light up your picnic table.

Hang it from your tentpole to provide light from above.

The Eclipse runs on 3 AA batteries and retails for $49.95.

The PackLite Max USB from LuminAID

LuminAID was created to address a glaring need in emergency relief: the basic need of light.

We often think of “the basics” as including food, water, and shelter. But light is actually vital to providing safety and ongoing support when the sun is not shining.

LuminAID saw this need and designed solar lanterns to fill the gap.

Today, their line of inflatable camping lights has expanded from their flagship product to a number of different sizes and versions. Most recently, LuminAID released the PackLite Max USB, an inflatable lantern that lets you turn solar into both light and power.

The PackLite Max USB lets you stare off into the distance… Just kidding. But it is super light — it’s literally like a lit up balloon.

Take it into the backcountry or take it into the backyard. It’s versatile, and that’s why we like it.

Charge the light while you hike during the day. Simple.

The PackLite Max USB is larger than most other LuminAID lights and for the general camper it is a great way to light up your campsite. It packs down into a thin flat form, and when expanded it provides 150 lumens. The ability to charge devices via USB is the cherry on top of this impressive new lantern from LuminAID.

The LuminAID PackLite Max retails for $29.99.

The LUCI Color Essence from MPOWERED

LUCI lights look a lot like LuminAID lights. Or maybe LuminAID lights look a lot like LUCI lights.

So it’s a little strange to include both of them in one lighting post.

But competition is healthy, and the two companies have shown they are committed to providing similar products albeit with different benefits.

For instance, LUCI’s new Color Essence camping lights provide different color lighting options, while LuminAID innovates on features like USB charging and waterproofing.

LUCI’s Color Essence lights are inflatable and solar powered, and their different color choices are perfect for the coordinated camper or camping family alike.

The LUCI’s sleek design and color options belong just as much indoors as at a campsite.

The LUCI Color Essence lights retail for $24.95.
