SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Reservations are available and recommended at Cody KOA, a full-hookup campground operating May through October on the eastern edge of Cody, Wyoming. Sites accommodate RVs up to 50 feet with electric, water, and sewer connections, and a dump station is on-site for self-contained rigs passing through. The campground sits adjacent to the airport, which reviewers note produces some overhead noise, and the all-gravel surface means early risers or late arrivals are audible to neighbors. Earplugs are a reasonable addition to the packing list.

Sites are close together. That's the most consistent observation across reviews, and it holds whether you're in an RV spot or one of the tent areas. The tent sites along the perimeter of the property have some shade; those in the middle do not. RV pads are level and long enough to keep a tow vehicle connected. Nathan H. notes "the site was also very long allowing us to keep our Jeep hooked up for the night," with a cement patio and chairs included. Cell coverage is solid across carriers, with T-Mobile, Verizon, and AT&T all reporting usable signal.

The pool area draws consistent attention. Two pools, including a kiddie pool, plus a hot tub give families a reason to stay on-site after a day of driving. "Very clean KOA with a pool for kids," notes Graham W. Free pancakes are served each morning, with add-ons available for purchase. A basketball court, playground, large-format lawn games, and a game room round out the activity options. Restrooms and showers receive consistent marks for cleanliness across multiple reviews.

The campground runs a nightly shuttle to the Cody Rodeo, which runs every evening during the summer season. A small lake is accessible a short distance up the road. Nearby campgrounds include Buffalo Jump RV Site to the north and Absaroka Bay RV Park to the west, both worth considering if site spacing or noise levels are a priority. Cody KOA works best as a base camp for Yellowstone travelers or a one-to-two-night stop for RV families who want reliable hookups and on-site activities without venturing far from town.

Cody yellowstone east koa

Its a koa so expect to pay for it. It has nice gravel pull ins no issues parking the rig. Has a pool a game room, free pancakes , basketball court and all kinds of cool yard games around the playground. Its close to the Bufflo bill attractions, a rodeo dinner shows and is close to a wallmart. It's a beautiful but long drive through the shahone national forest into yellowstone. I recommend this campground because its got dinning and grocery Options near the national park.

Great Campground with lots for kids

We are currently staying at Cody / Yellowstone East KOA Holiday in Cody, Wyoming, and it has been a fantastic basecamp for exploring the area.

We booked one of their full-hookup Paw Pen sites, and if you're traveling with dogs, this setup is a total game changer. Each site includes a private fenced-in area where your dogs can relax outside with you while staying safely contained. The pen even comes equipped with a trash can, waste bags, and a covered shelter to help keep your pets comfortable during the hotter parts of the day.

The campground also offers plenty of activities for families. Amenities include a swimming pool, hot tub, kiddie pool, jump pillow, playground, large outdoor chess set, and gem mining. There is no shortage of ways to keep the kids entertained after a day of sightseeing.

One of our favorite perks has been the complimentary pancake breakfast served every morning. The kids made sure not to miss it, and for good reason. The pancakes are excellent, and the gentleman cooking them is incredibly friendly and welcoming.

If you're planning to attend the Cody Nite Rodeo, the KOA makes it easy. Tickets can be purchased right at the front desk, and the campground offers a free shuttle service that takes you directly to the rodeo entrance and brings you back afterward.

This was our family's first rodeo, and it exceeded every expectation. The atmosphere was welcoming, family-friendly, and packed with energy. The kids stayed engaged the entire evening and even had the opportunity to participate in activities down in the arena. Watching the cowboys and cowgirls work with their horses was truly impressive, showcasing a level of skill, care, and precision that is hard to appreciate until you see it in person. If you've never experienced a rodeo before, I highly recommend adding one to your travel plans.

While in the area, we also explored McCullough Peaks and Gilmore Hill. These scenic backroads wind through the McCullough Peaks Wild Horse Management Area, home to more than 140 wild horses roaming freely across approximately 110,000 acres. We were fortunate enough to spot a small herd of three horses grazing peacefully and spent some time watching them. We also saw an incredible number of pronghorn throughout the area.

If you have a capable vehicle and are comfortable driving on gravel and dirt roads, I highly recommend making the trip out to McCullough Peaks. The wide-open landscapes, abundant wildlife, and chance to see wild horses in their natural habitat make for an unforgettable Wyoming experience.

A nicely maintained KOA campground

Overall a very nice campground that's well maintained with many amenities. The only negative that I can see is that the campsites are too close together.

Standard KOA

We didn't get to spend a ton of time here, just one night, but it's a pretty standard KOA. All the things you'd expect, like the activities and lodging options. We stayed in a kamping kabin and got a queen+ bunk beds version which I wasn't expecting. We had thought we had the queen-bed only. There wasn't much to be done about it as everything was booked. The bathrooms were clean and the dishwashing station was well maintained. The pool looked nice but we didn't get a chance to test it out. The tent sites along the side of the property were shaded and looked nice, but the ones in the middle were pretty basic with no trees.

Stayed two nights in August after YNP, very good

Stayed two nights after YNP.  Sites gravel, level, hook ups good.  The pool was closed for cleaning after some flooding when we arrived, but had it open very soon.  Grandkids liked the pool.

Quite at night.

Nice place for a few days.

Showers and rest rooms clean and good.

Very clean KOA with a pool for kids. Offers shuttle to nightly rodeo in town. Lots of BIG RVs with pull through spaces. They actually had a pretty good area for tents too.

Okay park with nice staff. Not to far of a bike ride to Cody. There is a bus that goes to the rodeo every night, but we stayed in the hot tub and pool. Cool little lake just up the road too. Great place to chill for a couple of days.

Solid KOA

Sites are extremely close. There are no trees. Hook ups for RVs are adequate. The pool area is the highlight with 2 pools (one kiddie) and a hot tub. All very clean. The basketball area is very nice too but too hot to play for us today. There’s a playground, large outdoor chess and scrabble.

The store is small but packed with a lot of souvenirs mostly. I didn’t use the restroom on my stay. The game room looked a bit worse for the wear. Free pancakes in the morning, but the kids weren’t interested. I’m gluten free so no pancakes for me.

Clean and comfortable

This was a nice little overnight stay on our way to the Grand Tetons. The site we stayed in had a nice cement patio complete with sturdy chairs to relax on. The site was also very long allowing us to keep our Jeep hooked up for the night. I will say the sites are close together, but not unusually close for a KOA. The grounds were well maintained and was an overall nice atmosphere. Connectivity was good. T-Mobile was the winner on speed with about 6 Mbps, but Verizon and AT&T also had a strong signal.

Loud and crowded

I stopped here for one night and changed my reservation upon seeing the park. It’s a gravel lot. Campers were on top of each other. Forget social distancing. Bring earplugs because parties are happening late. I chose to go somewhere else after that.
