Lakefront Fun

As a mom, I found Lakeland RV Campground in Milton to be the kind of place where the whole family can truly unwind and have fun together. Set along Lake Koshkonong this place was bursting with energy and feels more like a summer resort than a traditional campground with over 270 full-hookup sites and cozy cabins for families who don’t have an RV. The kids had endless options to keep them busy from 2 swimming pools, a sandy beach, playgrounds, mini golf, sports courts, and even planned activities and themed weekends and I loved the convenience of the camp store, laundry, fitness center and clean facilities. In the evenings, we enjoyed gathering around the campfire under the stars, and during the day we ventured onto the lake for kayaking and fishing, which felt like a little adventure just steps from our site. It was also nice knowing that if we wanted a change of pace, Milton and Janesville offered small-town charm and great dining and Madison wasn’t far for a day trip. My mom tips? Book a site away from the pools if you want peace and quiet, treat yourself to dinner at Fredrick’s Supper Club, sneak out early for a serene paddle on the lake, and don’t worry if you forgot gear as nearby shops have you covered. Lakeland made it easy for me to relax while my kids had a blast, and that combination is what makes it such a special family getaway.

Perfect for what we needed

We came to this area to do some genealogical work and needed to be situated between Madison and Beloit. Good location for that. If you want a secluded, nature setting this is probably not your best choice. It is a large lake resort with mostly permanent seasonal units, however we were in a quiet, spot w/electric & water. Used the laundry there too. Close proximity to freeway. Quiet during week days with more folks coming in for weekend use. Assume it’s very active in the summer.

Nice campground.

We were the only tent campers in the whole campground. These sites are good for both. We were on 444 and the site is nice and big only issue was rocks under the dirt, so it was hard to find spots for our stakes. The grounds are pretty. We had rain all of our first day, and our site didn't flood just a few puddles here and there and the ground was mushy for about another day and a half.

Really a summer boat haven where people have RVs

We went there first weekend in October, so it wasn’t crowded. The campground is huge, over 400 seasonal sites. For weekend camping, I would only recommend if you want to bring a pontoon and party on the lake. If you’re looking for a scenic retreat, this is not your place. Staff was really nice and helpful, but we will not return. It looks like many areas are under construction.

Not ready for campers

Placed us on a site that wasn't ready. Moved us to another site that the power was out on so they hooked us up to the other site. All the water handles were broke off and they tried to put a camper on the spot that we were using power from. They did take care of us but they definitely were not ready to be fully open

Not my favorite

We went here for a friend's birthday. It felt like we were packed in like sardines. Barely enough space to use the fire pit. Not much for shade and the only separating you from your neighbors are driveways/roads. The best parts was the full hookups, the pool, and the live music.

I do not think we will return to this campground.

More of a trailer park, not a campground feeling

Half of camping sites closed due to flooding. Big sites, not a lot of bugs or critters, electric available, pool but was closed at our visit. Neighbors were not friendly at all, permanent campers just didn’t socialize. Workers never told us about activities our kids could do, we had no clue they were available. Showers were nice though. Water on site, not from other campsites. Beach was amazing!!
