Super nice Campground The beach is beautiful and super close the lake is amazing and the campground very well maintained.
Took the family here plenty to do for kids playground went fishing in the outflow kids played in the water coldest water I ever stood in I would recommend this site if you have a boat the lake is not far at all
Campground reeks of horse manure 24/7. Was pleased by the quiet despite size of campground and proximity to highway. Sites not overly large or private. Has wood vending machine at entrance for firewood. Hiking loop around lake is beautiful. Jean bonnet tavern nearby recommended for a great meal in…
Just spent a long weekend here, for the first time. Camped from Thursday to Mon. The park is a easy drive from Pittsburgh and DC. We stayed in the C Loop. Sites are nicely spaced with trees in between. Sites was level with a fire ring, picnic table and lantern post. Lake was very pretty. Looked…
Campground up the road from the main day use area with the falls. Absolutely gorgeous. The walk to the falls is super easy and accessible. Other hikes around too. Campground is pretty basic but nice.
The campground is large. The primary attraction is the lake, which is nice for kayaking. There is also a small beach area for swimming. Some nice trails and a few are available for bikes.

We booked 2 weeks before for Thurs-Saturday. We arrived Thursday evening, and there were a couple other people but by Friday every lot was filled. We weren’t camped near the lake, so the bugs weren’t too bad. Bathroom facilities were pretty clean (and I have HIGH standards for cleanliness) and…

We hiked around Rock Cliff Lake and observed petrified wood. Swimming is excellent with sand beach. Big catfish in clear water. Water was so clean that it was throbbing with anfreshwater jellyfish. Very clean campground. Nice spot. The trout pond was dry.
I’m a full-time RVer, and I typically stay about a month at each campground. I was at five River Campground for the entire month of June, and it was great!!! The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. The electric, sewer, and water hook ups work well, and the RV sites are fairly level. Picture…

The sites are Spacious but we only had electric at our site no water. The bathhouse had a lot to be desired. The showers are push button maybe 30 seconds of water before it turns off and no temperature control. Made for a cold shower even in June!
Swallow Falls has a great loop trail where you see four waterfalls. You can walk to the loop from the campground. It ma be adds a third of a mile to the hike.
We stayed in cabin 58, which has a short, easy path to the bathhouse and even shorter to the mud sink. This was very handy when…
Older playground, but good enough for kiddos. Mini golf course, rock wall, and civil war reenactments when we came.
Tons of Mountain Bike trails, indoor and outdoor pools.

September 2020 Stay
This was a 1-night stay. We stayed here because the nearby state parks we were interested in were full for the weekend. It was OK given the circumstances, but I would prefer a state park. The location was on the edge of town. The campground is right up against some…
We had a nice, spacious site with inconsiderate neighbors. The website says quiet hours are enforced but sadly there was no one to enforce them. There was one bathhouse that was fairly clean. They offer many seasonal sites and cabins. The best part was the convenience to the Western MD Rail Trail…
Semi private & large tent sites. Medium size beach and dock to launch kayaks at. Fish weren’t biting for us this weekend!
