Several RV campgrounds surround the Lenore area with hookup options ranging from basic to full service. Backwoods Camping & RV Park provides water, electric and sewer hookups with spacious pull-through sites accommodating larger motorhomes. "The RV sites are level with gravel and spaced apart," noted one visitor about Yatesville Lake State Park Campground, which offers electric and water connections approximately 30 miles from Lenore. Robert Newlon Airpark RV Park in Huntington features 50 sites with full hookups including 30-amp and 50-amp electric service, suitable for big rigs. Seasonal availability varies significantly between facilities in the region. Yatesville Lake State Park Campground operates from April through October, while Creekside Cabins & RV Park remains open year-round. According to one camper, "Each RV site has a level concrete pad, making setup easy." Dump stations are available at several parks including Little Coal River Campground and Saint Albans Roadside Park. Cell service can be unreliable in more remote locations, though some facilities like Ole Henry's provide WiFi access. Most parks accommodate pets but maintain specific leash requirements. Advanced reservations are strongly recommended, particularly during summer months and fall foliage season when occupancy reaches capacity at popular RV camping destinations like Paintsville Lake State Park.

      Twin Hollow Campground and Cabins

On top of a mountain. Gorgeous afternoon and evening views but The fog is dense in the mornings, which comes with a lot of dew, but completely worth it for the afternoon view. No shade trees at our site, but they are large and offer fire rings and picnic tables. Direct access to the happy McCoy trails. We rented just down the street the side-by-side for a couple of days and had a fantastic time.

      Breaks Interstate Park Campground

      Beautiful! Beautiful! Beautiful!

We camped in pull-thru A43. The site is decently level and spacious. The other campers were very friendly. The bath house was modern and clean.

There was so much to do here! We ventured out to most of the overlooks; the views were breathtaking! There were plenty of hiking opportunities on trails from easy to difficult. Kayaks also were available for rent.

There is a hotel in the park, but it's far enough from the campgrounds (A, B, C, and D) that the guests don't bother the campers.

I can't imagine how glorious this place must be in the fall!

      Huntington / Fox Fire KOA

      Just passing through

Good overnight spot. It could be nice for a local family also. I wouldn’t make it a destination for a long vacation because of highway noise. It’s not horrible closer to the front or in the middle but along the back is where you’re right on it.

Very clean campground and staff was nice. Camp store is cute and there are multiple ponds.

      Thunder River Campground

The perfect getaway for the camping lovers

Beautiful scenery right next to the Russell Fork River! A solid 5 stars for the campground & staff. You don’t have to worry about the fun police monitoring your every action. Very budget friendly, they have the cheapest rates that I could find around the area. It’s really laidback & peaceful. You can sit at camp & relax while you drink your favorite beverage, enjoy your favorite smoke, just keep it to yourself & don’t raise hell. Or you could hit the Russell Fork for some awesome river activities such as fishing, swimming, kayaking, etc. At check-in you get the free Wi-Fi password & a bundle of wood for your fire pit. It’s a great getaway & I thoroughly enjoyed my stay & look forward to coming back. The only downside is that they need more shade options for the back tent sites to beat the summer heat. I highly recommend Thunder River Campground!!⛺️

Level sites. Water electric sewer at every site. Only seven sites available for transient; the rest are very permanent. On site restaurant.

      East Fork (WV)

      Waterfront Spots are Beautiful!

We stayed Friday-Sunday and had a great time. Check-in is a little late, but we still had plenty of time to set up. Heavy traffic at times but speed bumps help regulate speed.

Four Coves Campground — Beech Fork State Park

Pretty View but Shower Houses Need Attention

We have stayed at Beech Fork 3 times now and the view is always spectacular. However, we had to use the shower houses this time & they need attention. The water was barely luke warm and some of the stalls were dirty.

      Ashland Huntington West Campground

      Good for overnight

Nice pool, most sites I could see have sewer. Water pressure was low. Very few shady sites on top level.
