Huntington / Fox Fire KOA operates year-round with full hookups for RVs up to 65 feet, positioned directly adjacent to I-64 with constant highway noise audible throughout the property. The campground accommodates both drive-in and walk-in access, though several reviewers note the proximity to the interstate creates significant truck and car noise that continues through the night. Staff members receive consistent praise for their attentiveness and property maintenance efforts despite the high turnover of guests.
The campground fills to capacity on weekends, with Lisa C. observing that "there is car and truck noise all day long and all night too." Sites feature shared utility pedestals in many locations, and the arrangement requires some maneuvering but functions adequately. Family restrooms receive positive feedback for cleanliness and comfort, while the property includes laundry facilities, a camp store, and designated dog walking areas.
A swimming pond with inflatable equipment provides entertainment during warmer months, along with activities like gem mining and banana bike rentals. Evening movies screen on an inflatable outdoor screen near the lake. William I. notes you "can't complain about a movie out by the lake." The campground offers both RV sites and tent camping areas, though tent sites sit closer to the interstate where road noise proves most intrusive.
Cellular service works well for T-Mobile and AT&T users. Sites closer to the front office experience less highway noise than those positioned directly under the expressway overpass. The property maintains gravel and grass surfaces that can become muddy during wet weather. For additional camping options in the region, travelers can explore campsites near Ona or visit nearby Jims Campground for comparison.
This location works best for RV travelers prioritizing convenience and amenities over quiet surroundings, particularly those making overnight stops along I-64.
