Partial hookup site

Quiet and beautiful, the dump site is out of commission but was told I could empty tanks at one of the full hookup sites, roads coming in are narrow. Staff is very friendly and beautiful lake access wit swimming and fishing docks

A Gem of a State Park on Puget Sound

This was our first time at Penrose Point State Park. We are so fortunate to have so many State parks along the beaches of the Sound. Penrose Point is located across Carr Inlet from Gig Harbor and Fox Island. There are trails and beaches to explore. Lovely large campsites. No hookups available but…

Nice Location

A bit of a tight squeeze to drive the trailer but the location was nice. Our spot was very uneven but livable. Showers are 25¢ a minute so be prepared. 15 minute walk to a great view of Puget Sound. We would visit again.

Great for a quick overnight, not a place to escape

This is a beautiful spot! I was recently needing a place to camp outside of Olympia on a roadtrip. It’s about 10 minutes from I-5 so perfect for a one night stop, not sure if I’d want to stay there for more than that. The campsite had very little privacy and unfortunately everyone was woken up by a…

Nice for the family with a variety of activities.

We stayed in the tent camping area. RV section looks very nice too. Had a great time, but next visit will select a site in the lower loop, further away from the interstate noise. Lots of trails for walking/biking and a swim area. Access to the upper stretch of the Yakima River. Clean restrooms and…

Wonderful trip

We had a great time here. Had no idea this Lake was there after years of driving to Idaho on I-90. Gorgeous. Campground busy but well maintained. There was an altercation one morning between two camp groups but the camp hosts addressed it immediately and professionally. Lots of activities to do…

Riverside perfection

Plenty of sites along the river with multiple ingress/egress options from the road. Right outside the entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park and the access road to Crystal Mountain.

4x4 / high clearance vehicles recommended - saw some subarus trying to navigate into a cleared area and it was…

Should be a 5 star… lacking

Beautiful rustic area where we were. Restrooms/showers 12: 45pm were heavily tracked up. Laundry area wasn’t accessible. Person be counter at check in not the most hospitable.

One of my favorite family campgrounds!

Sites are roomy. Lots of walking and biking trails. Fishing and swimming areas. Concessions and rentals at the beach. Great staff too.

A Go-To Spot for Amenities

We love parking here for when we need hookups to charge our devices, fill up water, propane, and even do our laundry.

They do nightly movies on the lawn and all the staff is incredibly kind.

Weird but doable

Small state park. The water at sunset is super pretty, can't beat that and it's only a five minute walk from the campsites. It's kinda unsettling though seeing signs that it's a high theft area.

Some of the campers here are pretty peculiar tbh. One guy kept yelling at his dogs for doing dog…

Great state park on the bay for airplane lovers!!

Staying two nights in the "preferred" #17 campsite. Parking was wide enough to fit my RV and my son's big Panel Truck. Pay showers ($1 for 3 minutes) and clean restroom with air dryer, pet friendly, lots of trails to hike and a beautiful beach area with a playground, seasonal/weekend snack shop,…
