Best RV Parks & Resorts near Auburn, WA

RV parks near Auburn offer varying sizes, hookup options, and amenities for travelers. Sun Outdoors Gig Harbor provides 102 full-hookup sites with 30/50-amp service, while Enumclaw Expo Center RV Park features 50-amp electrical hookups and sewer connections but no sanitary dump station on-site. Tall Chief Campground in Fall City accommodates RVs year-round with 30-amp service, though 50-amp sites are limited and often occupied by long-term guests. Most parks provide water and electric hookups with gravel pads, though site dimensions vary significantly between locations. "We got site 106 which was the furthest one out, it was right along the river. The site has a concrete slab and fit our Jayco 174BH perfectly."

Advance reservations are strongly recommended for RV travelers, particularly during summer months when occupancy rates peak. Between Auburn and the surrounding communities, dump stations are available at select parks including South Prairie Creek RV Park and Angle Lake RV Park, though many sites require external pumping services for waste disposal. Cell service varies by location, with stronger coverage in parks closer to urban areas. Most facilities maintain year-round operation with full hookup availability, though seasonal rate adjustments apply. Pet policies generally allow dogs with standard leash requirements, and several parks including Midway Village RV Park and Blue Sky RV Park offer on-site propane fill services. Big rig accessibility may require careful navigation, as one visitor noted, "The length limit here is 35 ft for a motorhome, and us at 28 ft head to toe felt very big here."

    Crystal Mountain RV Parking

Great base-camp for winter and summer adventures at Crystal Mountain Resort

Stayed here for the first time in July 2021.  I understand this opened last winter.  Talking to the host, I found out it is far more popular in winter when ski season is open. It was quiet and sparsely filled in July on a Friday and Saturday night.

3 different areas respectively for large RV and 50 amps power, small RVs and 30 amp and tent only area. A fee picnic tables (no benches) available toward the tent only area.  Bathroom are just two sani-cans. Relatively clean.  There is trash and recycling behind the office which is adjacent to the host RV.

Free WI-Fi (the host will give you code) and good LTE connection on AT&T.

Silver Creek runs behind the lot and gives a  bit more of a natural feel. Otherwise you are in a giant parking lot (Lot B).

Can't beat the location for skiing and hiking or biking at Crystal Mountain!

    North Sound Recreational Vehicle Park

    Simple Urban RV Park

This is very much an RV park and not really a campground. Seems like a clean little park, but right in the middle of Lynnwood, so if you are looking for a rural setting this isn't for you.

They offer weekly and monthly rentals, so this is more of a long-term sort of place.

    Website: Northsound RV Park

    Requirements from their site:

    • Your travel trailer must be year 2005 or newer
    • Pet friendly(limit 2) not to exceed 25 lbs. Aggressive breed restrictions apply.
    • No conversion vehicles - sorry van and bus life people
    • No trailers larger than 35' long, ideally.

Cougar Rock Campground — Mount Rainier National Park

    Nice place

Nice campground on the SW corner of Mt Rainier NP. We were here in the off season, meaning that reservations are not taken and everything is FCFS. You stop at the ranger office at the campground entrance and you’re given a campsite. $20/night. Zero cell service in this whole area (but there was good cell reception and wifi at Paradise, and free wifi at the museum 2 miles down at Longmire).

There are water spigots at this campground, flush toilets, no showers, trash dumpsters, and glass, plastic, and aluminum recycling. Each site has a picnic table, bear box, and fire pit. The dump station has been non operational for several years and the ranger said she doesn’t think it’ll ever be fixed.

The length limit here is 35 ft for a motorhome, and us at 28 ft head to toe felt very big here. The Wonderland Trail hike can be accessed from this campground, just across the road. Lots of trees in this campground, and we struggled to keep our batteries charged via solar, though there looked to be enough open sky for starlink (we don’t have starlink so I can’t say). All the loops here in this campground are pretty similar in layout and landscape.

    Blue Sky RV Park

    Awesome park

We reserved a space for 1 night the day before. Great communication with Brett, everything went really smooth. The facilities are great and very clean, the park very quiet. There are a lot of big rigs parked there, some of the pm long-term as it seems. We enjoyed ourselves and would definitely visit again.

    Cedar Glen RV Park

great long-term or quick on the way

There are several long term campers here. The grounds are kept immaculate and they regularly update the sites.  They hang wreaths for the winter holidays. Lawns mowed weekly.

All are level gravel. All have grass area, some with patio pad. There is a dog walk area and they are currently creating a dog fenced area at the end orf the two rows.

A caretaker is on site and will often help guide rigs into the sites (all are back-in).

Close to Poulsbo (a cute, Norwegian heritage town), Seattle ferry via Bainbridge Island and just over an hour to the Olympic National Park via the Hood Canal Bridge.

    Riverbend Campground

    Nice campground with friendly staff

Interesting the other review was for a first time out with their travel trailer!  Same for us!

We got site 106 which was the furthest one out, it was right along the river.  The site has a concrete slab and fit our Jayco 174BH perfectly.

This site does is a back in, but the slab is at a 90 degree angle from the drive.  So you will have to back your trailer around a corner if you plan to park it on the slab.  Didn't see other sites like this.

The campground did have a very small selection of items to buy, but mainly snacks.  They do fill propane tanks, but only during week days.

The site had water and electrical, but no sewer connections.  they do have a nice dump station.

The camp ground itself did have at least 2 pet areas neither are fenced so a leash is required, along with a playground for the kids.

We have Verizon and had no issues with cell signal at this campground.

Also, this is a private campground, so they have a guy that stands at the gate to open it when guests come arrive.

    Elkamp Eastcreek

    Best place in Washington state

This is the cleanest, most cared for camping site I have ever been to. The owners Tom and Brian, make your stay very enjoyable. They care about you having a great experience, whether you’re a first time camper or a seasoned camper. They have a great store with snacks, wine, beer, and local sourced goods. They have games you can use while you are there, like corn hole and board and card games, free of charge. Sites are large for travel trailers and motor homes, they also have tent and group sites. Trailer and motor home sites have power and water, there is a dump station you can use on your way home free of charge. The bathrooms are large and very clean, the shower is 4 quarters for 6 minutes, those of us who try to take a 3 minute shower in our rigs so we don’t run through all the hot water so our partner can have a shower without waiting for the water to get hot again it’s a blessing. In the evening Tom or Brian drive through the park seeing if anyone needs ice or firewood, if there’s not a burn ban, bring a propane fire pit for your camping experience. They also sell propane so no fears on running out. The best thing is you are under a large canopy of trees which helps to keep you cool even on the hottest days. There is a small creek to put your chair in and put your feet in the water. Our first year there we brought 4 other people, this year it was 28. We make Elkcamp our yearly get together. Family friendly and a great place to unwind. You’re only a few miles from mineral lake, bring your trunks, inner tube, or your paddle boards. I’d give it a solid 10 out of 10.

    Kanaskat-Palmer State Park

Nice & quick camping option from Seattle

We stayed 1 night here for the maiden voyage of our recently purchased travel trailer, which was nice since it's only about an hour away from our place near Seattle. Arrived Friday early evening and it wasn't busy at all.

The check-in process was easy, even though their reservation system was down at the time. Filled up w/ some fresh water at the dump station, which was clean and well maintained.

Campsites in the RV loop were spaced out enough with vegetation between them so as to provide some privacy. Our site had a pull-through driveway, 30amp hookup, a fire ring and picnic table. Bathrooms in that loop were pretty nice... heated and very clean.

Took a walk down to the day use area by the river, which was easy for us, but some portions of the trails closer to the river were slightly overgrown w/ a few obstacles, which could be problematic for some. Didn't see any kids play structures down there, which would be nice to have for families.

We heard a couple trains while there, but the noise wasn't too loud. Never heard the fire siren that they warned us about. Overall, it was a good camping experience for a quick trip and would return!

Cougar Rock Campground — Mount Rainier National Park

    Stars, mountains, buglessness

Best stars you'll see all year if you go on a clear day (go in the summer)! You can see Mount Rainer during the day, and take day trips to hiking trails with mountains and waterfalls and even a gondola near the ski resort. RV friendly and dogs welcome at campsite (just not on trails). Running water, flush toilets, and fire pit available. Not many bugs, might might get cold at night. Ranger apprently does an info talk around 8pm. Book site in advance (fills up quickly). Will have to pay a national park fee to get in.

Guide to Auburn

RV parks near Auburn, Washington typically operate year-round with seasonal rate adjustments reflecting the Pacific Northwest climate. The area sits at elevations ranging from 50 to 500 feet above sea level with temperatures averaging 45-75°F during peak camping season. Cell coverage strengthens closer to I-5 and I-90 corridors but weakens in more remote locations near the foothills.

What to do

Hiking trails access: Sun Outdoors Gig Harbor provides a strategic base for trail exploration. "Lots of trees, level gravel sites, and full hook ups available. Very close to Gig Harbor," notes a camper who found the location ideal for day hikes.

Lake activities: Lake Pleasant RV Park offers water-based recreation opportunities. "We did not use the bathrooms, but enjoyed the walking trails, playground for the kids, and watching the resident ducks in the pond," shares a visitor who appreciated the natural setting just 30 minutes from Seattle.

Mountain viewing: Enumclaw Expo Center RV Park sits near Mount Rainier National Park. "Nice older park at the base of Mt. Rainier. Water and Electric (50 amp) only. There are several dump stations nearby," explains one RVer who used the location as a mountain access point.

What campers like

Clean facilities: Tall Chief Campground earns consistent praise for maintenance. "Bathrooms are usually found to be immaculate. The main bathrooms have a great 'spa' feeling to their design and make you feel like you are glamping," writes a regular visitor who appreciates the attention to detail.

Proximity to services: Blue Sky RV Park combines accessibility with seclusion. "A Quiet oasis tucked into the forest. The new and clean bathrooms and showers were a real treat after a 2100 mile journey from Texas," shares a visitor who valued the park's location near urban amenities while maintaining a natural setting.

Spacious sites: Sun Outdoors Gig Harbor offers well-designed layouts. "Very well laid out. Beautiful trees and landscaping. Well maintained, full facilities in amenities, A1 staff - very friendly and helpful and wanting to please," reports a camper who found the spaces comfortable despite the park's compact footprint.

What you should know

Reservation requirements: Lake Pleasant RV Park fills quickly during peak seasons. "We stayed here for almost a month while visiting family in North Seattle. The grounds are quiet... truly silent... save for the many geese that call the lake in the center of the property their home," notes a long-term visitor who recommends booking well ahead.

Site limitations: Some Auburn area RV parks have specific restrictions. "The length limit here is 35 ft for a motorhome," observes one visitor at a local park, highlighting the importance of verifying size accommodations before arrival.

Pet policies: Issaquah Village RV Park has specific pet guidelines. "You must walk your dogs off site across the street to relieve themselves. Some reviewers are bajiggity about this but it's the Burke Gilman trail and it's not like you are having to cross a busy street," explains a repeat visitor who finds the rules reasonable.

Tips for camping with families

Activity planning: Parks near Auburn offer varying recreation options. "The pool, miniature golf, playground and basketball were great. Laundry facilities came in handy," shares a Tall Chief Campground visitor who traveled with children.

Noise considerations: Trailer Inns RV Park in Bellevue provides urban access but with tradeoffs. "This is a perfect place for dropping your mobile hotel room and explore Seattle and the surrounding areas. There are clean bathrooms, laundromat and rec room. We have 5 kids and wanted to explore the area without having to travel for more than 10-15min to downtown Seattle," explains a family who used the park as a home base.

Weather preparation: RV parks around Auburn experience significant seasonal variations. "It's a very nice location, exceptionally clean and safe. In site 11 you can hear the highway when outside of rv but couldn't inside," notes a Blue Sky RV Park visitor who recommends having both cooling and heating options available.

Tips from RVers

Utility management: RV parks Auburn, Washington often provide varying hookup configurations. "We stayed 3 months for work, perfect beautiful, CHEEP CHEEP, not too good to be true, just right. All hook ups included. (Bring your dump tote!) easy easy easy dump station," advises a Tall Chief Campground extended-stay visitor.

Connectivity options: Cell service varies significantly between parks. "I'm getting 120+ mbs download on AT&T in my site right now, but several sites down from me, it can dwindle down to 5mbs!" reports a camper at Tall Chief who recommends testing reception at various sites before settling.

Storage considerations: Some RV parks offer additional services for travelers. "They can fill propane on site. Just an incredible place. They also have a small storage lot that can accommodate short storage. I camped, stored my camper while I went on a cruise, camped and then headed out," shares a Lake Pleasant RV Park visitor who appreciated the flexibility for multi-stage trips.
