Playground access: Some parks offer dedicated play areas. "The kids loved the park! The beach was great, water is rather warm for in the sound, it's also pretty shallow which is great for the kids to play in," notes Leah H.
Group accommodations: For larger family gatherings, seek designated group areas. "We stayed in the group camp and I can highly recommend it. It had its own bathrooms. It was set back in the woods with tons of places for tents. The shelter was large and had water and power," explains Ellen T. about Millersylvania.
Tips from RVers
Hookup availability: Most cabin-offering parks also accommodate RVs with varying hookup levels. "Full hookup was about $28/night. While located in Joint Base Lewis McChord the camp is close enough to I-5 so we had great cell reception," reports Michael C. about the Lewis North Travel Camp.
Site spacing: Many parks have tightly spaced sites. "Very tight camping sites, no privacy, plenty of noise in summer, especially if you're across from the playground," cautions Judy J. about Fay Bainbridge Park.
Dump station access: Not all parks with cabins offer sewer hookups or dump stations. "The downside is there is no sewage dumping site at the park. However there are public bathroom available," notes ML D. regarding Fay Bainbridge Park.
