Our main TT

We love Tall Chief because it is super close to a lot of great spots around the Seattle region.

It’s super close (like 7 min drive) from one of my favorite coffee shops, Aroma Coffee Co. Try it! You won’t be disappointed!

Tall Chief’s biggest perk is probably how nice they keep the park. Bathrooms are usually found to be immaculate. The main bathrooms have a great “spa” feeling to their design and make you feel like you are glamping.

Most sites are pretty big too. We can easily fit our trailer, tow vehicle, and extra vehicle and still have space!

No sewer connections which can be a bummer, but the nice bathrooms make up for it imo.

The staff are always super nice and helpful.

Another thing that can be annoying is trying to find a site with good cell reception due to all the trees. They definitely have a few, but I would say arrive early so you can drive by all the sites while checking to make sure you have good reception if you need it.

I’m getting 120+ mbs download on AT&T in my site right now, but several sites down from me, it can dwindle down to 5mbs!

Camping in a forest

This is a big park that is part of Thousand Trails.  No sales pitch to join, which was nice.  Rangers were super nice.  Bathrooms very new and clean.  Lots of trees between sites.  Hard to find one in the sun if that is what you are looking for.  Looked like lots of long term campers.  Very quiet.  We enjoyed see the surrounding area - Beaver Lake Park, Carnation, Fall City.  Didn't make it to Snoqualmie Falls, maybe next time.

Nice, quiet and woodsy

We are here in November for a week. We really love it here. The staff are friendly and helpful. Lots of trees in our section separating us but in other sections your really close to each other. It is first come first serve and lucky us we got 50 amp. I would scout the map and be first for checkin just in case someone left that day because their are only a few 50 amp. Hopefully you aren’t spending too much inside to matter but we have a washer dryer and a residential fridge and a small fridge. Looks like newer picnic tables and they also provide fire rings. You are about 20 minutes from downtown Redmond. We will definitely stay here again. I bet summer is really busy because it’s a great area. Also not far from Snoqualmie falls and lots of hiking available. Really nice laundry room and play area for kids. I wish they had a fenced off leash area for dogs but they do have 3 different potty areas for them.

Spacious and quiet

This was our first campground on our RV trip. However, we were surprised at $82, but we were already late and we were glad to have found an official parking space and to be greeted in a friendly manner so late. The sanitary facilities are currently being renovated and the others are a bit far. In the middle of the green it was of course pleasantly quiet.

Beautiful place, needs updates

First off, I give a three star only because of my own experiences. Please read through as I know many reviews aren't very descriptive.... Tall Chief is beautiful if you ask me. This was our first stay in our Thousand Trails membership. Being from the Midwest and Denver where it's lacking, the greenery of the area is actually quite stunning. The staff were all very friendly and remained so for the entire two weeks we stayed. We didn't use the pool area but it looked clean and well kept. It and the other lodge are easily accessible and from my understanding are great places to go if you DO need wifi. There is no wifi in the camp. We had full 5G service here with Verizon. The other campers seemed fairly clean while we were there. A few sites did look like they exploded from the inside out. I'm assuming those were long termers. Far and in between though.

I do have to knock a star for the fact no sites have sewer hookups. This is fairly understandable though as it appeared that a service needs to pump the septic tank by the dump station for the entire park. Most people I saw had a honey wagon. We don't have room for one so we used a pumping service halfway through our time there. The park provided the information for the service. It was $60 though. I'm assuming a sewer overhaul would be overly costly. It DOES make you a bit more conscious of water usage though. We had to take showers at the facilities which are kept up fairly well.

Knocking another star as the majority of the sites are only 30 amp with antiquated posts. There are a few 50 amp sites but from what I saw they were all taken by RVers that are there on a more permanent basis. If you want/need one, you cannot get one. Normally 30 amp posts are sufficient but we ended up here during a heat wave and an entire section of the park blew after having several days of power issues (one of which was our site). The staff were very accommodating as they were just as upset about the outage and caught off guard as we were. Luckily we were able to move to a new site with a newer power post. Still 30 amp though. Luckily it cooled off quickly in the following days. The power grid definitely needs an upgrade. Especially as RVs have gotten larger.

All in all, fantastic stay. Don't let a 3-star deter you from your own opinion.

Tall Chief

We really enjoyed our stay here it was very quiet and peaceful sites were long and roomy with a fire ring and picnic table. Good cell service with AT&T and Sprint. The pool was closed and no hot tub decent club house with a pool table. We did not use the laundry but it looked fine. Our site was 30 amp only all 50amps were taken and there are only a few of them.

New travel trailer!

We picked tall chief because it was close to home for our first trip with new trailer, it was end of july 2020 online reservation were easy, got there and they were real nice and helpfull. Is thick trees and open spaces dudent give 5 stars because some of the full timers there space looks trashy!,and they need to clean up but everything else seemed good,if not a member of thousand trails or encore it can be expensive.

Tall trees abound at Tall Chief

Helpful, friendly staff. Large private sites. It feels like you are deep in the PNW rainforest but you close to amenities and shopping.

Roomy Finally

Great camp site for all sizes. Mostly no sewer. But if you enjoy a little distance between sites without sacrificing camp size line up here. Modest amenities but distances to Seattle is day trip doable.

It worked in a pinch

For a longer term parking solution, this park was okay. Full hookups weren’t always available. Sites are spacious but not always private. Some permanent residents. The amenities needed repairs, such as the play areas. Location is kind of away from the city.

Can’t believe how close this is to a major city

You really do feel like you’re much further out of town. I travel a lot for work and I’ve started taking my travel trailer rather than staying in hotels. That’s how I found Tall Chief, but I’ve gone back since just because I enjoy it so much. Only drawback is not having dump hookups at each site, but that doesn’t effect me wanting to stay here in any way. This really is a gem!

Hidden Gem

We had a great time, even stayed an extra night! Our space was nice and gave us some privacy. The pool, miniature golf, playground and basketball were great. Laundry facilities came in handy. Only downfall was no sewer and honeybucket needed to be reserved at $25.00; however, there is an RV dump onsite. We'd definitely stay again!

We had a great time at tall chief! The campsites were pretty tightly packed so we didn't have much privacy but the facilities were well kept and the pool was an amazing spot! Loved it!
