Comfy and great for fishing and boating

I stayed here for two night and enjoyed my time. RV spots are a little close to your neighbor but it was quiet and peaceful. This is a great spot if you don't mind not having a network connection or Wi-Fi. Spot comes with an electrical hook-up, water, fire pit, and a picnic table. There are also…

Clean and quiet

Bathrooms were clean, people were friendly and quiet. Reasonably sized sites that were first come, first serve, but we had no problem finding a site on a Friday afternoon. Lots of ranger patrols.

Will be back

Panther Creek was an incredible experience. We loved the campground and it's accessibility to trails. No matter where you camp, your just a short walk from a trailhead that connects to multiple trails. Not to mention the wildlife was great! A raccoon watched us make s'mores from about 20 feet away…

Great park needs some upkeep

Park is beautiful and lake views are amazing however the grass on our site had not been cut. The Bathouse was not cleaned properly the entire week that we stayed there. There was an older gentleman that used a water hose to spray out the bath house. We never seen any type of cleaning other than…

Great

Nice, clean campground. Used the primitive camping, everything was well taken care of. The rangers are informative and friendly. The employees, the same. Real nice place to stay.

Whimsical Relaxation

Quaint park tucked away in the hills of VA in Big Stone Gap next to South Fork Powell River. Although our site is right on top of our neighbor, that is NOT the norm. Sites are spaced out with some full-timers, part-timers and vacationers. The owner allowed us to choose our site, and after having…

Good campsite

Campsites are nice but electric hookups only at certain sites. Its a national campground so its beautiful with nice bathouses but not much activities other than hiking. There are a limited amount of sites that would accommodate a large RV, mostly tent sites. It is first come first serve with no…

Great State Park

Panther Creek State Park has a great campground for families to spend time at. For a lesser known state park, they have a lot of amenities. Playgrounds, hiking, horseback trails, mountain bike trails, tennis courts, disc golf, baseball field, volleyball, lake access, swimming pool (closed for…

Great Family Camground in the Mountains of E. KY

This has ranked #1 for campgrounds for our family this season.

Nestled in the mountains of eastern Kentucky, this campground has all the things your family could want to do in nature.

Check in was super easy and the staff was great.

The site was very easy to get to.

We were on site 13 and…

Beautiful Campground

Great trails, walkways, and a lot of activities available (tennis courts, basketball, frisbee, etc.). The restrooms/showers were clean and well stocked. The only drawback was the slow, and sometimes non-existent, wi-fi service.

Decent.

I was a little underwhelmed compared to what I was expecting from camping at a national park. The positives are the cheap rates and there are bathroom and shower facilities. If you want old fashion tent camping the park does have some backcountry campsites.

The cons are the lack of actual…

Great Mountain biking!

Very nice bathrooms. The sites aren’t the most private we’ve ever stayed at, but the mountain biking was so much fun we didn’t care! Hiking and biking was an A+. Great place for families because of the surrounding wooded activities.

First Snow Camping!!

Having a blast. We are spending 14 days camping here. Explored the area before the snow hit. Great hiking trails. Nice, large campsites, not too close to your neighbors...but fairly typical. Nice big bathroom ( 2 stalls - 1 handicap). Big handicap accessible open room shower. Had to put towel at…

Our favorite

This is our absolute favorite campground. Great amenities and ease of access for anything we need with a short drive into town. It’s quiet and relaxing. Watch out for pesky raccoons in site 7. They love to eat dog food.
