Pleasant Experience

Only stayed one night. Electric and water hook up. Site was not level but OK. They had very nice complete hook ups with patios. Will try that next time, if available.

Good campground

Nice place, no wifi, cell phone service is limited. Most sites have no hookups. Has bear lockers.

Quiet retreat in nature

This KOA was a very nice surprise given that it was right off the highway. We only were there for 1 night and we didn't hear any highway noise. They had a very nice nature trail as well as chickens running around and baby goats in a pen. Check in was easy as they had a tent set up so we didn't have…

  • Most of the sites on the hilly roads looked like this. However the site was rather level.

Well run

This is a good campground for a short stay. The sites are small and close to each other, but well maintained. The bath/shower/Laundry facility was very clean and fairly new. The utilities were great. There is a small swimming pool that the kids were enjoying, a short trail, and chickens all over.…

Lovely Place

This is a wonderfully priced spot nestled in the middle of some great outdoor adventure opportunities.

We stayed in the mountain view cabin lower level with our two dogs. The upstairs neighbors were probably as quiet as they could be but you could still hear them walking around and using the…

Amazing late night stop

We ended up getting in late but the place was very quite and clean. Perfect for our first night in the woods. Nearest cell signal is about ten miles up at the House Mountain Overlook. Rangers on site were super sweet.

  • Creek runs through the campground. Spots on the water fill up fast.

Great place to stay!

Great campsite $15/night. About 1/3 reservation and 2/3 first come first served. It is a site that attracts hikers especially, as it is adjacent to the Appalachian trail. Bear boxes are at each site too, which is very convenient especially at a walk in site!

If you can, get site #20. It is the…

Well maintained campground.

Nicely laid out and well maintain campground. Fellow campers and hikers are nice, great rangers, and clean bathroom and shower ($1.75/5min) facilities, bring quarters or $1s and $5s for getting change in the machine to use in the showers and laundry. No atm or cash back in camp store. All the…

Nice area, difficult to put in trailer.

This park was well maintained, as most state parks have been.  However, the sites were a good size but were very difficult to get even a small trailer into the site due to the narrow roads.  We were tent camping, in the beginning of May, and the weather was cold and wet.  The swimming area was nice…

Meh

The sites are okay- level, some shade- but felt like we were on top of people. The shower house needs work- no ventilation makes for a stifling shower and bathroom use. The swimming “lake” cools ya off but is pretty dirty- had to wash my suit twice to get it clean. They had a band one night we were…

Convenient, laid-back camping

Great experience here.

We went hammock camping here at Loft Mountain on a Friday night and packed up Saturday morning. We had to pay to get into Shenandoah, and then pay the camping fee for loft mountain.

We arrived around noon and with the hopes of getting a good first-come, first serve…

We loved this VA State park!

Our family loved this park and its amenities. The campground was nice but some of the sites are a little small so definitely pay attention to the camper length per individual site. The bathhouse is in the center of the loop so that makes it convenient to most of the sites. The swimming lake has…

The BEST Campground in Virginia!

We spend quite a bit of our time here, it is very family oriented. My kids love all of the activities and the lake! Can't wait until we can back this summer. They are remodeling and upgrading since SUN RV is now the new owners. If you have a golf cart, you can bring it. or you can rent one there.

Wooded Sites

Tent sites are shady, although some can be VERY close to one another. There’s a nice beach area and the park seems to offer boat rentals (unsure of COVID policies at the moment, though). 🛶

The playgrounds and amenities for kids are cute, and the bathrooms are clean. The park sells wood and has a…
