Waynesboro North 340 Campground

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Sitting just off Route 340 north of Waynesboro, this privately operated campground runs year-round and caters to a mix of RV travelers, long-term seasonal residents, and shorter-stay visitors passing through the Shenandoah Valley. Sites are gravel-surfaced and on the larger side, accommodating rigs up to 70 feet with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer. A dump station, WiFi, and a camp store stocked with basics round out the practical amenities.

Cleanliness comes up consistently across reviews, and it's the detail that stands out most. Dan L. describes the showers as "clean as BX restrooms," and multiple long-stay visitors echo the same observation about the bathrooms. The campground also has a pool and playground on-site. One trade-off worth knowing: sites have limited privacy, with little buffer between neighbors, and the mix of permanent, seasonal, and transient campers gives it more of a residential feel than a wooded retreat.

The location works well as a base for regional day trips. Skyline Drive and Shenandoah National Park are accessible from here, and the area has hiking trails and historical sites within reasonable range. Campers planning to explore campsites near Crimora will find this campground a workable staging point. The staff receives generally positive marks across reviews, though one reviewer noted a difficult interaction with the owner following an on-site incident. For campers wanting a more wooded, less developed setting, Kiss the Earth to the northwest or Shenandoah Acres Family Campground to the south are worth comparing.

Quiet, clean, friendly.

We just stayed several nights at this campground and really enjoyed it. It was quiet, the bathrooms and showers were always exceptionally clean, and the pool was very nice. Some parts of the campground have a lot of trees and we enjoyed the shade. The staff was very kind and helpful, and kept a neat little camp store well stocked with a variety of essentials. It was easy to get into Shenandoah National Park via Skyline Drive, which we also enjoyed. It is not too far from Polyface Farms (a conference there was the purpose of our visit). We look forward to staying here again!

Aftermath of the hurricane

My Rv sustained damage from a tree. The staff were awesome but the owner wasn’t. She wouldn’t even acknowledge me or say how sorry she was. Then she had me assigned to the worst site in the park. I have never been treated so terribly. She was only interested in her revenue and not the people.

Excellent campground

We stayed here for 6 months. The staff have been wonderful. We've really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere at the campground. The bathrooms are always clean. Only con is that they need to update their dryers which don't dry very well.

Good place to stay but….

The campground is dated some. I wasn’t impressed by the pool or the restrooms. They were dated. If you are looking for a place in the woods the sites are not private. We would go back again in a pinch. Or for a long weekend kinda trip. The sites were a good size.
